¹Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops; he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.

¹ "Yn awr, dos i mewn i'th gaer, ti ferch gaerog; y mae gwarchae wedi ei osod yn ein herbyn; trewir barnwr Israel ar ei foch � ffon."

²(And thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall he come forth unto me [who is] to be Ruler in Israel: whose goings forth are from of old, from the days of eternity.)

² Ond ti, Bethlehem Effrata, sy'n fechan i fod ymhlith llwythau Jwda, ohonot ti y daw allan i mi un i fod yn llywodraethwr yn Israel, a'i darddiad yn y gorffennol, mewn dyddiau gynt.

³Therefore will he give them up, until the time when she which travaileth shall have brought forth: and the residue of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.

³ Felly fe'u gedy hyd amser esgor yr un feichiog, ac yna fe ddychwel y rhai fydd yn weddill yn Israel at eu tylwyth.

⁴And he shall stand and feed [his flock] in the strength of Jehovah, in the majesty of the name of Jehovah his God. And they shall abide; for now shall he be great even unto the ends of the earth.

⁴ Fe saif ac arwain y praidd yn nerth yr ARGLWYDD, ac ym mawredd enw'r ARGLWYDD ei Dduw. A byddant yn ddiogel, oherwydd bydd ef yn fawr hyd derfynau'r ddaear;

⁵And this [man] shall be Peace. When the Assyrian shall come into our land, and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight princes of men.

⁵ ac yna bydd heddwch. Pan ddaw Asyria i'n gwlad, a cherdded hyd ein tir, codwn yn ei erbyn saith o fugeiliaid ac wyth o arweinwyr pobl.

⁶And they shall waste the land of Asshur with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof; and he shall deliver [us] from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

⁶ A bugeiliant Asyria �'r cleddyf, a thir Nimrod �'r cleddyf noeth; fe'n gwaredant oddi wrth Asyria pan ddaw i'n gwlad a sarnu'n terfynau.

⁷And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples as dew from Jehovah, as showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, neither waiteth for the sons of men.

⁷ A bydd gweddill Jacob yng nghanol pobloedd lawer, fel gwlith oddi wrth yr ARGLWYDD, fel cawodydd ar laswellt, nad ydynt yn disgwyl wrth ddyn, nac yn aros am feibion dynion.

⁸And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and there is none to deliver.

⁸ A bydd gweddill Jacob ymhlith y cenhedloedd, ac yng nghanol pobloedd lawer, fel llew ymysg anifeiliaid y goedwig, fel llew ifanc ymhlith diadelloedd defaid, sydd, wrth fynd heibio, yn mathru ac yn malurio, heb neb i waredu.

⁹Thy hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.

⁹ Bydd dy law wedi ei chodi yn erbyn dy wrthwynebwyr, a thorrir ymaith dy holl elynion.

¹⁰And it shall come to pass in that day, saith Jehovah, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots.

¹⁰ "Yn y dydd hwnnw," medd yr ARGLWYDD, "distrywiaf dy feirch o'ch plith, a dinistriaf dy gerbydau.

¹¹And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and overthrow all thy strongholds.

¹¹ Distrywiaf ddinasoedd dy wlad, a mathraf dy holl geyrydd.

¹²And I will cut off sorceries out of thy hand; and thou shalt have no soothsayers.

¹² Distrywiaf swyngyfaredd o'th afael, ac ni fydd gennyt ddewiniaid.

¹³Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy statues out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more bow down to the work of thy hands.

¹³ Distrywiaf dy gerfddelwau a'th golofnau o'ch mysg, a mwyach nid addoli waith dy ddwylo dy hun.

¹⁴And I will pluck up thine Asherahs out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy cities.

¹⁴ Diwreiddiaf y prennau Asera yn eich plith, a dinistriaf dy ddinasoedd.

¹⁵And I will execute vengeance in anger and in fury upon the nations, such as they have not heard of.

¹⁵ Mewn llid a digofaint fe ddialaf ar yr holl genhedloedd na fuont yn ufudd."
