1He that dasheth in pieces is come up against thy face: keep the fortress, watch the way, make [thy] loins strong, fortify [thy] power mightily.
1 Daeth dinistrydd i fyny yn dy erbyn; diogela'r amddiffynfa, gwylia'r ffordd, rhwyma dy wregys, a chasgla dy nerth ynghyd.
2For Jehovah hath brought again the glory of Jacob, as the glory of Israel; for the wasters have wasted them, and marred their vine-branches.
2 Y mae'r ARGLWYDD yn adfer gogoniant Jacob, a gogoniant Israel yr un modd, er i'r anrheithwyr eu difetha a dinoethi eu canghennau.
3The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots [glitter] with the sheen of steel, in the day of his preparation, and the spears are brandished.
3 Y mae tarian ei ryfelwyr yn goch, a'r milwyr mewn ysgarlad, a'i gerbydau yn eu rhengoedd yn fflachio fel tn, a'r gwu375?r meirch yn prancio.
4The chariots rush madly in the streets, they justle one against another in the broad ways: the appearance of them is like torches, they run like lightnings.
4 Rhuthra'r cerbydau trwy'r strydoedd, a gweu trwy'i gilydd yn y mannau agored; fflachiant fel ffaglau, gwibiant fel mellt.
5He bethinketh him of his nobles: they stumble in their march; they make haste to the wall thereof, and the shelter is prepared.
5 Gelwir y glewion i'r frwydr, baglant hwythau wrth ddod; brysiant at y mur, a pharatoir yr amddiffyn.
6The gates of the rivers are opened, and the palace melteth away.
6 Agorir llifddorau'r afonydd, ac y mae'r plas mewn dychryn;
7And it is decreed: she shall be uncovered, she shall be led away, and her maids shall moan as with the voice of doves, drumming upon their breasts.
7 dygir y frenhines ymaith i gaethglud, a'i morynion yn galaru, yn cwyno fel colomennod ac yn curo dwyfron.
8Nineveh hath been like a pool of water, since the day she existed, yet they flee away. ... Stand! Stand! But none looketh back.
8 Y mae Ninefe fel llyn a'i ddyfroedd yn diflannu. "Aros! Aros!" meddant, ond nid yw neb yn troi'n l.
9Plunder the silver, plunder the gold; for there is no end of the splendid store of all precious vessels.
9 Ysbeiliwch yr arian! Ysbeiliwch yr aur! Nid oes terfyn ar y trysor, nac ar y cyfoeth o bethau dymunol.
10She is empty, and void, and waste; and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and writhing pain is in all loins, and all their faces grow pale.
10 Wedi ei hysbeilio, ei hanrheithio a'i dinoethi, pob calon yn toddi, pob glin yn gwegian, y llwynau'n crynu, ac wyneb pawb yn gwelwi!
11Where is [now] the den of the lions, and the feeding-place of the young lions, where the lion, the lioness, [and] the lion's whelp walked, and none made them afraid?
11 Ple mae ffau'r llew ac ogof y llewod ifainc, cynefin y llew a'r llewes, lle triga'r cenawon heb eu tarfu?
12The lion tore in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.
12 Darniodd y llew ddigon i'w genawon, a lladd ar gyfer ei lewesau; llanwodd ei ogofeydd ag ysglyfaeth, a'i loches 'i raib.
13Behold, I am against thee, saith Jehovah of hosts: and I will burn her chariots into smoke; and the sword shall devour thy young lions, and I will cut off thy prey from the earth; and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
13 "Wele fi yn dy erbyn," medd ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd. "Llosgaf dy ffau mewn mwg, ac ysa'r cleddyf dy genawon; torraf ymaith dy ysbail o'r tir, ac ni chlywir mwyach sn am dy weithredoedd."
