¹And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak with thee.

¹Ja ta ütles mulle: 'Inimesepoeg, tõuse püsti, ma tahan sinuga rääkida!'

²And the Spirit entered into me when he spoke unto me, and set me upon my feet; and I heard him that spoke unto me.

²Kui ta minuga rääkis, siis tuli mu sisse Vaim ja pani mind jalgadele seisma; ja ma kuulsin teda, kes minuga rääkis.

³And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to nations that are rebellious, which have rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me unto this very day;

³Ta ütles mulle: 'Inimesepoeg, mina läkitan sind Iisraeli laste juurde, vastupanija rahva juurde, kes on mulle vastu pannud; nemad ja nende vanemad on mu vastu üles astunud otse tänase päevani.

⁴and these children are impudent and hard-hearted: I am sending thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah.

⁴Neil lastel on jultunud näod ja paadunud südamed; ma läkitan sind nende juurde ja sa pead neile ütlema: Nõnda ütleb Issand Jumal;

⁵And they, whether they will hear or whether they will forbear -- for they are a rebellious house -- yet shall they know that there hath been a prophet among them.

⁵ja kuulaku nad või ärgu kuulaku - nad on ju vastupanija sugu -, nad peavad siiski teadma, et nende keskel on olnud prohvet.

⁶And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, and be not afraid of their words; for briars and thorns are with thee, and thou dwellest among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, and be not dismayed at their faces; for they are a rebellious house.

⁶Aga sina, inimesepoeg, ära karda neid ja ära karda nende sõnu, kuigi nad on tõrksad ja hülgavad sinu ja sa pead elama skorpionide seas! Ära karda nende sõnu ja ära kohku nende ees - nad on ju vastupanija sugu -,

⁷And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear or whether they will forbear; for they are rebellious.

⁷vaid sina räägi neile minu sõnu, kuulaku nad või ärgu kuulaku - nad on ju vastupanijad!

⁸And thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee.

⁸Aga sina, inimesepoeg, kuula, mis mina sulle räägin! Ära ole vastupanija nagu see vastupanija sugu! Ava oma suu ja söö, mis mina sulle annan!'

⁹And I looked, and behold, a hand was put forth toward me; and behold, a roll of a book therein.

⁹Siis ma vaatasin, ja ennäe, mu poole oli sirutatud käsi, ja vaata, selles oli rullraamat.

¹⁰And he spread it out before me; and it was written within and without; and there were written in it lamentations, and mourning, and woe.

¹⁰Ta tegi selle minu ees lahti ja see oli mõlemalt poolt täis kirjutatud; sinna oli kirjutatud nutulaule, halinaid ja hädahüüdeid.
