¹{A Prayer of David.} Hear the right, O Jehovah, attend unto my cry; give ear unto my prayer, which is not out of feigned lips.

¹Taaveti palve. Kuule, Issand, mu õiget asja, pane tähele mu härrast hüüdmist, võta kuulda mu palvet, mis pole petiste huulte oma!

²Let my judgment come forth from thy presence, let thine eyes regard equity.

²Sinu palge eest tulgu mulle õiglane otsus, sinu silmad näevad, mis on õige!

³Thou hast proved my heart, thou hast visited me by night; thou hast tried me, thou hast found nothing: my thought goeth not beyond my word.

³Kui sa katsud läbi mu südame, tuled öösel mind vaatama ja uurid mind - siis sa ei leia midagi. Kui ma mõtlesin kurja, siis ei pääsenud see üle mu huulte.

⁴Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept from the paths of the violent [man].

⁴Inimlikes tegudes olen ma sinu huulte sõnade tõttu hoidunud üleannetuist teeradadest.

⁵When thou holdest my goings in thy paths, my footsteps slip not.

⁵Mu sammud hoidsid kinni su jälgedest, mu jalad ei kõikunud.

⁶I have called upon thee, for thou answerest me, O ùGod. Incline thine ear unto me, hear my speech.

⁶Ma hüüan sinu poole, sest sina, Jumal, vastad mulle; pööra oma kõrv mu poole, kuule mu kõnet!

⁷Shew wondrously thy loving-kindnesses, O thou that savest by thy right hand them that trust [in thee] from those that rise up [against them].

⁷Osuta imeliselt oma heldust, sa nende päästja, kes otsivad su juures pelgupaika su paremale käele vastupanijate eest!

⁸Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

⁸Hoia mind nagu silmatera; oma tiibade varju alla peida mind

⁹From the wicked that destroy me, my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

⁹õelate eest, kes mind rõhuvad, mu verivaenlaste eest, kes mind piiravad!

¹⁰They are enclosed in their own fat; with their mouth they speak proudly.

¹⁰Nad on sulgenud oma rasvunud südame, oma suuga nad räägivad ülbesti.

¹¹They have now encompassed us in our steps; their eyes have they set, bowing down to the earth.

¹¹Nad on meie kannul; nüüd nad ümbritsevad mind. Oma silmad nad sihivad sellele, kuidas mind maha panna.

¹²He is like a lion that is greedy of its prey, and as a young lion lurking in secret places.

¹²Nad on nagu lõvi, kellel on himu murda, ja nagu noor lõvi, kes peidus varitseb.

¹³Arise, Jehovah, anticipate him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, thy sword;

¹³Tõuse, Issand, astu tema vastu, suru ta maha; päästa mu hing õela käest oma mõõgaga,

¹⁴From men [who are] thy hand, O Jehovah, from men of this age: their portion is in [this] life, and their belly thou fillest with thy hid [treasure]; they have their fill of sons, and leave the rest of their [substance] to their children.

¹⁴meeste käest oma käega, oh Issand, meeste käest, kes on maailmast, kelle osa on siin elus, kelle kõhu sa täidad oma varaga, kelle pojad saavad rohkesti ja kes panevad ülejäägi hoiule oma lastele!

¹⁵As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
