1And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying, as a voice of thunder, Come [and see].
1וארא כאשר פתח השה אחד מן שבעה החתמות ואשמע אחת מארבע החיות מדברת כקול רעם לאמר בא וראה׃
2And I saw: and behold, a white horse, and he that sat upon it having a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went forth conquering and that he might conquer.
2ואביט והנה סוס לבן והרכב עליו קשת בידו ותנתן לו עטרה ויצא מנצח ולמען ינצח׃
3And when it opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, Come [and see].
3וכפתחו את החותם השני ואשמע את החיה השנית אמרת בא וראה׃
4And another, a red horse, went forth; and to him that sat upon it, to him it was given to take peace from the earth, and that they should slay one another; and there was given to him a great sword.
4ויצא סוס שני והוא אדם ולרכב עליו נתן לשאת את השלום מן הארץ למען יהרגו איש את אחיו ותנתן לו חרב גדולה׃
5And when it opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, Come [and see]. And I saw: and behold, a black horse, and he that sat upon it having a balance in his hand.
5וכפתחו את החותם השלישי ואשמע את החיה השלישית אמרת בא וראה ואביט והנה סוס שחר והרכב עליו מאזנים בידו׃
6And I heard as a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, A choenix of wheat for a denarius, and three choenixes of barley for a denarius: and do not injure the oil and the wine.
6ואשמע קול מתוך ארבע החיות לאמר קב חטים בדינר ושלשה קבים שערים בדינר ואת השמן והיין אל תשחת׃
7And when it opened the fourth seal, I heard [the voice of] the fourth living creature saying, Come [and see].
7וכפתחו את החותם הרביעי ואשמע את החיה הרביעית אמרת בא וראה׃
8And I saw: and behold, a pale horse, and he that sat upon it, his name [was] Death, and hades followed with him; and authority was given to him over the fourth of the earth to slay with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and by the beasts of the earth.
8וארא והנה סוס ירקרק והרכב עליו שמו המות ושאול יוצאת לרגליו וינתן להם שלטן על רביעית הארץ להמית בחרב וברעב ובדבר ובחית הארץ׃
9And when it opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of them that had been slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held;
9וכפתחו החותם החמישי וארא מתחת למזבח את נפשות הטבוחים על דבר האלהים ועל העדות אשר היתה להם׃
10and they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O sovereign Ruler, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell upon the earth?
10ויזעקו בקול גדול ויאמרו עד מתי אדני הקדוש והאמתי לא תשפט ולא תקום את דמינו מישבי הארץ׃
11And there was given to them, to each one a white robe; and it was said to them that they should rest yet a little while, until both their fellow-bondmen and their brethren, who were about to be killed as they, should be fulfilled.
11ויתן לאיש איש מהם שמלות לבנות ויאמר אליהם לנוח עוד זמן מעט עד מלאת מספר העבדים חברים ואחיהם העתידים להרג כמוהם׃
12And I saw when it opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as hair sackcloth, and the whole moon became as blood,
12וארא בפתחו את החותם הששי והנה רעש גדול היה ויקדר השמש כשק שער והירח נהפך לדם׃
13and the stars of heaven fell upon the earth, as a fig tree, shaken by a great wind, casts its unseasonable figs.
13וכוכבי השמים נפלו ארצה כאשר תנוע תאנה ברוח חזקה והשליכה פגיה׃
14And the heaven was removed as a book rolled up, and every mountain and island were removed out of their places.
14והשמים משו כספר נגלל וכל הר ואי הנתקו ממקומם׃
15And the kings of the earth, and the great, and the chiliarchs, and the rich, and the strong, and every bondman and freeman, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains;
15ומלכי הארץ והרזנים ושרי האלפים והעשירים והתקיפים וכל עבד וכל בן חרים התחבאו במערות ובסלעי ההרים׃
16and they say to the mountains and to the rocks, Fall on us, and have us hidden from [the] face of him that sits upon the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb;
16ויאמרו אל ההרים ואל הסלעים נפלו עלינו וכסונו מפני הישב על הכסא ומפני חמת השה׃
17because the great day of his wrath is come, and who is able to stand?
17כי בא יום עברתו הגדול ומי יוכל להתיצב׃
