¹And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

¹TUHAN berbicara kepadaku,

²And thou, son of man, thus saith the Lord Jehovah unto the land of Israel: An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land.

²"Hai manusia fana, Aku, TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi, hendak mengatakan ini kepada tanah Israel: Inilah akhir riwayat seluruh negeri ini!"

³Now is the end upon thee; and I will send mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways, and will bring upon thee all thine abominations.

³TUHAN berkata, "Hai Israel, sekarang sudah tiba kesudahanmu. Engkau akan merasakan murka-Ku. Engkau Kuadili sesuai dengan perbuatanmu yang keji.

⁴And mine eye shall not spare thee, neither will I have pity; but I will bring thy ways upon thee, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah.

⁴Aku tidak akan kasihan atau memberi ampun kepadamu. Aku akan menghukum engkau sesuai dengan segala kekejian yang telah kauperbuat. Maka tahulah engkau bahwa Akulah TUHAN."

⁵Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: An evil, an only evil! behold, it is come.

⁵Inilah yang dikatakan TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi kepada bangsa Israel, "Bencana demi bencana akan menimpa kamu.

⁶The end is come, the end is come; it awaketh against thee: behold, it cometh.

⁶Sekarang segalanya telah berakhir. Inilah kesudahanmu. Tidak ada harapan lagi bagimu.

⁷The doom is come unto thee, inhabitant of the land; the time is come, the day is near, -- tumult, and not the joyous cry from the mountains.

⁷Segalanya telah berakhir bagimu, hai bangsa yang tinggal di tanah ini. Sekarang tidak ada lagi pesta-pesta di mezbah-mezbah pegunungan, yang ada hanyalah kekacauan saja.

⁸Now will I soon pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger against thee; and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will bring upon thee all thine abominations.

⁸Tak lama lagi kamu akan merasakan murka-Ku yang dahsyat. Kamu Kuadili sesuai dengan perbuatanmu. Akan Kubalaskan kepadamu segala perbuatanmu yang keji.

⁹And mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will render unto thee according to thy ways, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that it is I, Jehovah, that smite.

⁹Aku tidak akan kasihan atau memberi ampun kepadamu. Aku akan menghukum kamu sesuai dengan segala kekejian yang telah kamu perbuat. Maka tahulah kamu bahwa Akulah TUHAN dan Akulah yang menghukum kamu."

¹⁰Behold the day, behold, it is come: the doom is gone forth; the rod hath blossomed, pride is full blown.

¹⁰Hari bencana bagi bangsa Israel telah tiba. Kekerasan merajalela. Kesombongan mencapai puncaknya.

¹¹Violence is risen up into a rod of wickedness: nothing of them [shall remain], nor of their multitude, nor of their wealth, nor of the magnificence in the midst of them.

¹¹Kekejaman mengakibatkan lebih banyak kejahatan. Seluruh kekayaan, keagungan dan kejayaan mereka akan habis tak berbekas.

¹²The time is come, the day draweth near: let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn; for fierce anger is upon all the multitude thereof.

¹²Waktunya segera datang, harinya sudah dekat! Si pembeli dan si penjual tidak mendapat keuntungan apa-apa, sebab hukuman Allah akan menimpa semua orang.

¹³For the seller shall not return to that which is sold, even though he were yet alive amongst the living: for the vision is touching the whole multitude thereof; it shall not be revoked; and none shall through his iniquity assure his life.

¹³Tak ada pedagang yang akan sempat mendapat kembali apa yang telah dijualnya, sebab murka Allah menimpa siapa saja. Orang yang jahat tidak akan selamat.

¹⁴They have blown the trumpet and made all ready, but none goeth to the battle; for my fierce anger is upon all the multitude thereof.

¹⁴Trompet berbunyi dan semua orang bersiap-siap. Tetapi tak seorang pun berangkat ke medan perang, sebab murka Allah menimpa semua orang.

¹⁵The sword is without, and the pestilence and the famine within: he that is in the field shall die by the sword; and he that is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him.

¹⁵Di jalan-jalan kota ada peperangan, di rumah-rumah ada wabah penyakit dan kelaparan. Siapa saja yang berada di luar kota akan mati dalam peperangan, dan yang tinggal di kota akan menjadi kurban penyakit dan kelaparan.

¹⁶And they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them moaning, every one for his iniquity.

¹⁶Sebagian akan luput dan melarikan diri ke pegunungan. Di situ mereka akan seperti burung-burung dara yang dihalau dari lembah-lembah; semuanya akan merintih karena dosa-dosa mereka.

¹⁷All hands shall be feeble, and all knees shall melt into water.

¹⁷Setiap orang akan menjadi lemah tangannya dan goyah lututnya.

¹⁸And they shall gird on sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads.

¹⁸Mereka akan memakai kain karung dan sekujur tubuhnya akan gemetar. Kepala mereka akan digunduli dan mereka dipermalukan.

¹⁹They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be as an impurity: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of Jehovah's wrath; they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their belly; for it hath been the stumbling-block of their iniquity.

¹⁹Emas dan perak akan mereka buang di jalan seperti sampah, sebab pada hari TUHAN melampiaskan amarah-Nya, emas dan perak itu tak dapat menyelamatkan mereka, malahan telah menjerumuskan mereka ke dalam dosa. Mereka tak dapat menggunakannya untuk memuaskan nafsu atau untuk mengisi perut mereka.

²⁰And he set in majesty his beautiful ornament; but they made therein the images of their abominations [and] of their detestable things: therefore have I made it an impurity unto them.

²⁰Dahulu mereka bangga akan permata mereka yang indah, tetapi karena mereka memakainya untuk membuat berhala-berhala yang menjijikkan, TUHAN membuat harta mereka itu menjadi sesuatu yang mengerikan.

²¹And I will give it into the hands of strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall profane it.

²¹TUHAN berkata kepada bangsa Israel, "Aku akan membiarkan orang-orang asing merampoki kamu. Penjahat-penjahat akan merampas hartamu dan menajiskannya.

²²And I will turn my face from them; and they shall profane my secret [place]; and the violent shall enter into it, and profane it.

²²Aku tak akan turun tangan bila Rumah-Ku dirusakkan dan dicemarkan oleh perampok-perampok.

²³Make the chain; for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence.

²³Seluruh negeri menjadi kacau; di mana-mana ada pembunuhan dan kekejaman.

²⁴Therefore will I bring the worst of the nations, and they shall possess their houses; and I will make the pride of the strong to cease; and their sanctuaries shall be profaned.

²⁴Bangsa-bangsa yang paling ganas akan Kudatangkan untuk menduduki rumah-rumahmu. Jagoan-jagoanmu yang paling perkasa akan gentar apabila bangsa-bangsa itu Kubiarkan menghancurkan tempat-tempat ibadahmu.

²⁵Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, but there shall be none.

²⁵Mereka ditimpa kesedihan dan putus asa, lalu mencari kedamaian, tetapi tidak mereka temukan.

²⁶Mischief shall come upon mischief, and rumour shall be upon rumour; and they shall seek a vision from a prophet; but the law shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the elders.

²⁶Malapetaka dan kabar buruk akan datang terus-menerus. Kamu akan memohon agar para nabi mau meramal, tetapi mereka tak bisa. Juga para imam tidak punya apa-apa untuk diajarkan kepada umat, dan para pemimpin kehabisan nasihat.

²⁷The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with dismay, and the hands of the people of the land shall tremble: I will do unto them according to their way, and with their judgments will I judge them; and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah.

²⁷Raja akan meratap, putra mahkota putus asa dan rakyat akan gemetar ketakutan. Aku akan menghukum kamu sesuai dengan segala perbuatanmu dan menghakimi kamu seperti kamu menghakimi orang lain. Maka tahulah kamu bahwa Akulah TUHAN."
