1{A Prayer of David.} Hear the right, O Jehovah, attend unto my cry; give ear unto my prayer, which is not out of feigned lips.
1Doa Daud. Dengarlah seruanku mohon keadilan, perhatikanlah doaku yang tulus, ya TUHAN.
2Let my judgment come forth from thy presence, let thine eyes regard equity.
2Sudilah membela perkaraku sebab Engkau tahu apa yang benar.
3Thou hast proved my heart, thou hast visited me by night; thou hast tried me, thou hast found nothing: my thought goeth not beyond my word.
3Bila Engkau menguji hatiku dan datang menyelidiki aku di waktu malam, akan Kaudapati bahwa aku tulus ikhlas; perkataanku sesuai dengan pikiranku.
4Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept from the paths of the violent [man].
4Aku melakukan apa yang Kauperintahkan dan tidak menempuh jalan kekerasan.
5When thou holdest my goings in thy paths, my footsteps slip not.
5Aku selalu hidup menurut petunjuk-Mu dan tidak menyimpang daripada-Nya.
6I have called upon thee, for thou answerest me, O ùGod. Incline thine ear unto me, hear my speech.
6Aku berseru kepada-Mu, ya Allah, sebab Engkau menjawab aku; perhatikanlah aku dan dengarlah kata-kataku.
7Shew wondrously thy loving-kindnesses, O thou that savest by thy right hand them that trust [in thee] from those that rise up [against them].
7Tunjukkanlah kasih-Mu yang mengagumkan sebab Kauselamatkan orang yang berlindung pada-Mu, di sisi-Mu mereka aman dari serangan musuh.
8Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
8Peliharalah aku seperti biji mata-Mu, sembunyikanlah aku dalam naungan sayap-Mu
9From the wicked that destroy me, my deadly enemies, who compass me about.
9terhadap serangan orang jahat. Aku dikepung musuh yang mau membunuh aku;
10They are enclosed in their own fat; with their mouth they speak proudly.
10mereka tidak mengenal kasihan dan bicara dengan congkak.
11They have now encompassed us in our steps; their eyes have they set, bowing down to the earth.
11Mereka maju melawan aku dan mengerumuni aku, mencari kesempatan untuk membanting aku.
12He is like a lion that is greedy of its prey, and as a young lion lurking in secret places.
12Mereka seperti singa yang mau menerkam mangsanya, singa muda yang menghadang di tempat tersembunyi.
13Arise, Jehovah, anticipate him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, thy sword;
13Bangkitlah, ya TUHAN, lawanlah musuhku dan kalahkanlah mereka. Selamatkanlah aku dengan pedang-Mu terhadap serangan orang jahat.
14From men [who are] thy hand, O Jehovah, from men of this age: their portion is in [this] life, and their belly thou fillest with thy hid [treasure]; they have their fill of sons, and leave the rest of their [substance] to their children.
14Lepaskanlah aku dari orang-orang yang menimbun harta di dunia. Hukumlah mereka dengan malapetaka yang telah Kausediakan bagi mereka. Biarlah anak cucu mereka dihukum juga.
15As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
15Tetapi aku akan memandang Engkau, sebab aku tidak bersalah. Pada waktu aku bangun, kehadiran-Mu membuat hatiku gembira.
