1{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} In thee, Jehovah, do I trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
1Untuk pemimpin kor. Mazmur Daud. (31-2) Pada-Mu aku berlindung ya TUHAN, jangan biarkan aku dikecewakan. Selamatkanlah aku demi keadilan-Mu
2Incline thine ear to me, deliver me speedily; be a strong rock to me, a house of defence to save me.
2(31-3) dengarlah aku dan bebaskanlah aku segera. Jadilah bagiku seperti gunung batu tempat aku berlindung, seperti benteng yang kuat, di mana aku selamat.
3For thou art my rock and my fortress; and, for thy name's sake, thou wilt lead me and guide me.
3(31-4) Ya, Engkau seperti gunung batu dan benteng yang kuat bagiku! Bimbinglah aku sesuai dengan janji-Mu.
4Draw me out of the net that they have hidden for me; for thou art my strength.
4(31-5) Lepaskanlah aku dari jerat yang dipasang bagiku, sebab Engkaulah tempat aku berlindung.
5Into thy hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, Jehovah, [thou] ùGod of truth.
5(31-6) Ke dalam tangan-Mu kuserahkan diriku; Engkau membebaskan aku, ya TUHAN, Allah yang setia.
6I have hated them that observe lying vanities; and as for me, I have confided in Jehovah.
6(31-7) Orang yang menyembah berhala Kaubenci; tetapi aku percaya kepada TUHAN.
7I will be glad and rejoice in thy loving-kindness, for thou hast seen mine affliction; thou hast known the troubles of my soul,
7(31-8) Aku akan bergembira dan bersukaria sebab Engkau tetap mengasihi aku. Engkau melihat penderitaanku dan memperhatikan kesusahanku.
8And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large place.
8(31-9) Engkau tidak membiarkan aku ditawan musuh, tetapi memungkinkan aku berjalan dengan bebas.
9Be gracious unto me, Jehovah, for I am in trouble: mine eye wasteth away with vexation, my soul and my belly.
9(31-10) Kasihanilah aku, ya TUHAN, sebab aku dalam kesusahan; mataku pedih karena menangis, jiwa ragaku merana.
10For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing; my strength faileth through mine iniquity, and my bones are wasted.
10(31-11) Hidupku habis dalam penderitaan, tahun-tahunku berlalu dalam keluh kesah. Kekuatanku berkurang karena kejahatanku, bahkan tulang-tulangku menjadi rapuh.
11More than to all mine oppressors, I am become exceedingly a reproach, even to my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that see me without flee from me.
11(31-12) Aku menjadi tertawaan bagi semua musuhku, bahkan bagi para tetanggaku. Semua kenalanku terkejut bila melihat aku, mereka lari bila bertemu dengan aku di jalan.
12I am forgotten in [their] heart as a dead man; I am become like a broken vessel.
12(31-13) Aku dilupakan seperti orang mati, dan menjadi seperti barang yang dibuang.
13For I have heard the slander of many -- terror on every side -- when they take counsel together against me: they plot to take away my life.
13(31-14) Di mana-mana ada kengerian; kudengar desas-desus musuhku. Mereka bersekongkol melawan aku, dan membuat rencana untuk membunuh aku.
14But I confided in thee, Jehovah; I said, thou art my God.
14(31-15) Tetapi aku berharap pada-Mu, ya TUHAN, sebab Engkaulah Allahku.
15My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from my persecutors.
15(31-16) Engkau selalu memelihara aku; selamatkanlah aku dari musuh-musuhku, dan dari orang-orang yang mengejar aku.
16Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; save me in thy loving-kindness.
16(31-17) Semoga Engkau berkenan kepada hamba-Mu; selamatkanlah aku karena kasih-Mu.
17Jehovah, let me not be ashamed; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, let them be silent in Sheol.
17(31-18) Jangan biarkan aku mendapat malu, ya TUHAN, sebab aku berseru kepada-Mu. Biarlah orang jahat dipermalukan, dan dengan diam turun ke dunia orang mati.
18Let the lying lips become dumb, which speak insolently against the righteous in pride and contempt.
18(31-19) Sumbatlah mulut para pembohong yang dengan sombong mencemooh orang jujur.
19[Oh] how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee, [which] thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee, before the sons of men!
19(31-20) Betapa limpahnya kebaikan-Mu yang Kausediakan bagi orang takwa! Setiap orang melihat kebaikan yang Kaulakukan, bagi mereka yang berlindung pada-Mu.
20Thou keepest them concealed in the secret of thy presence from the conspiracies of man; thou hidest them in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
20(31-21) Engkau menyembunyikan mereka dalam naungan-Mu terhadap siasat orang jahat; Kaujagai mereka dalam perlindungan-Mu terhadap tuduhan lawan.
21Blessed be Jehovah; for he hath shewn me wondrously his loving-kindness in a strong city.
21(31-22) Terpujilah TUHAN! Sangat mengagumkan kasih-Nya bagiku, waktu aku dikepung dan diserang.
22As for me, I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes; nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.
22(31-23) Dalam kebingunganku aku menyangka TUHAN telah membuang aku dari hadirat-Nya. Tetapi Ia telah mendengar permohonanku waktu aku berseru kepada-Nya.
23Love Jehovah, all ye his saints. Jehovah preserveth the faithful, and plentifully requiteth the proud doer.
23(31-24) Cintailah TUHAN, hai seluruh umat-Nya, TUHAN melindungi orang yang setia. Tetapi orang congkak dihukum-Nya dengan tidak tanggung-tanggung.
24Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all ye that hope in Jehovah.
24(31-25) Kuatkanlah dan teguhkan hatimu, kamu semua yang berharap kepada TUHAN!
