¹{To the chief Musician. Upon Nehiloth. A Psalm of David.} Give ear to my words, O Jehovah; consider my meditation.

¹Untuk pemimpin kor. Dengan permainan suling. Mazmur Daud. (5-2) Ya TUHAN, dengarlah kata-kataku, perhatikanlah keluh-kesahku.

²Hearken unto the voice of my crying, my king and my God; for to thee will I pray.

²(5-3) Indahkanlah seruanku dan tolonglah aku, ya Rajaku dan Allahku.

³Jehovah, in the morning shalt thou hear my voice; in the morning will I address myself to thee, and will look up.

³(5-4) Sebab kepada-Mu aku berdoa, ya TUHAN, dengarlah seruanku di waktu pagi. Pagi-pagi kubawa persembahanku dan kunantikan jawaban-Mu, ya TUHAN.

⁴For thou art not a ùGod that hath pleasure in wickedness; evil shall not sojourn with thee.

⁴(5-5) Engkau Allah yang tak suka akan kejahatan; orang jahat tak boleh bertamu pada-Mu.

⁵Insolent fools shall not stand before thine eyes; thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

⁵(5-6) Engkau tak tahan melihat orang congkak, Kaubenci orang yang berbuat jahat.

⁶Thou wilt destroy them that speak lies: Jehovah abhorreth a man of blood and deceit.

⁶(5-7) Kaubinasakan orang-orang yang suka membohong, penipu dan pembunuh Kaupandang rendah.

⁷But as for me, in the greatness of thy loving-kindness will I enter thy house; I will bow down toward the temple of thy holiness in thy fear.

⁷(5-8) Tetapi karena kasih-Mu yang besar, aku boleh masuk ke dalam Rumah-Mu. Kusujud ke arah Rumah-Mu yang suci, dan kusembah Engkau dengan khidmat.

⁸Lead me, Jehovah, in thy righteousness, because of my foes; make thy way plain before me.

⁸(5-9) Ya TUHAN, amat banyaklah musuhku! Bimbinglah aku untuk melakukan kehendak-Mu, dan tunjukkanlah jalan-Mu yang harus kutempuh.

⁹For there is no certainty in their mouth; their inward part is perversion, their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

⁹(5-10) Sebab perkataan musuhku tak dapat dipercaya; hati mereka penuh rencana jahat. Kata-kata mereka manis memikat, tetapi batin mereka penuh kebusukan.

¹⁰Bring guilt upon them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels: drive them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against thee.

¹⁰(5-11) Hukumlah mereka, ya Allah, biar mereka celaka karena rencananya sendiri. Usirlah mereka karena banyaklah dosa mereka, sebab mereka telah berontak terhadap Engkau.

¹¹And all that trust in thee shall rejoice: for ever shall they shout joyously, and thou wilt protect them; and they that love thy name shall exult in thee.

¹¹(5-12) Semoga semua orang yang berlindung pada-Mu bergembira dan bersorak-sorai selama-lamanya. Lindungilah orang-orang yang mencintai Engkau, supaya mereka bersukacita karena Engkau.

¹²For thou, Jehovah, wilt bless the righteous [man]; with favour wilt thou surround him as [with] a shield.

¹²(5-13) Sebab Kauberkati orang yang setia kepada-Mu, Kaulindungi mereka dengan kasih-Mu.
