¹{To the chief Musician. On a stringed instrument. [A Psalm] of David.} Hear, O God, my cry; attend unto my prayer.

¹Untuk pemimpin kor. Dengan permainan kecapi. Dari Daud. (61-2) Dengarlah seruanku, ya Allah, perhatikanlah doaku.

²From the end of the earth will I call unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: thou wilt lead me on to a rock which is too high for me.

²(61-3) Jauh dari rumah aku berseru kepada-Mu, karena aku putus asa. Engkau akan menghantar aku ke tempat pengungsian yang aman, tempat yang terlalu tinggi bagiku;

³For thou hast been a refuge for me, a strong tower from before the enemy.

³(61-4) sebab Engkaulah pelindungku, pertahanan yang kuat terhadap musuhku.

⁴I will sojourn in thy tent for ever; I will take refuge in the covert of thy wings. Selah.

⁴(61-5) Biarlah aku seumur hidup menumpang di kemah-Mu, supaya aman dalam naungan sayap-Mu.

⁵For thou, O God, hast heard my vows; thou hast given [me] the inheritance of those that fear thy name.

⁵(61-6) Sebab Engkau telah mendengar janjiku, ya Allah, dan memberi kepadaku milik pusaka orang takwa.

⁶Thou wilt add days to the days of the king: his years shall be as many generations.

⁶(61-7) Semoga raja panjang umur, sehingga ia hidup turun-temurun.

⁷He shall abide before God for ever: bestow loving-kindness and truth, that they may preserve him.

⁷(61-8) Semoga ia memerintah untuk selama-lamanya sebagai raja pilihan-Mu, ya Allah, lindungilah dia dengan kasih dan kesetiaan-Mu.

⁸So will I sing forth thy name for ever, performing my vows from day to day.

⁸(61-9) Maka aku akan selalu menyanyikan pujian bagi-Mu, sambil menepati janjiku dari hari ke hari.
