¹And the divisions of the sons of Aaron: the sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

¹アロンの子孫の組は次のとおりである。すなわちアロンの子らはナダブ、アビウ、エレアザル、イタマル。

²And Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children; and Eleazar and Ithamar exercised the priesthood.

²ナダブとアビウはその父に先だって死に、子がなかったので、エレアザルとイタマルが祭司となった。

³And David distributed them, both Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their office in their service.

³ダビデはエレアザルの子孫ザドクとイタマルの子孫アヒメレクの助けによって彼らを分けて、それぞれの勤めにつけた。

⁴And there were more head-men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar, and [thus] were they divided: of the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen heads of fathers' houses, and eight of the sons of Ithamar according to their fathers' houses.

⁴エレアザルの子孫のうちにはイタマルの子孫のうちよりも長たる人々が多かった。それでエレアザルの子孫で氏族の長である十六人と、イタマルの子孫で氏族の長である者八人にこれを分けた。

⁵And they were divided by lot, one with another; for the princes of the sanctuary and the princes of God were of the sons of Eleazar and of the sons of Ithamar.

⁵このように彼らは皆ひとしく、くじによって分けられた。聖所のつかさ、および神のつかさは、ともにエレアザルの子孫とイタマルの子孫から出たからである。

⁶And Shemaiah the son of Nethaneel the scribe, [one] of the Levites, inscribed them before the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the chief fathers of the priests and Levites: one father's house was drawn for Eleazar, and one drawn for Ithamar.

⁶レビびとネタネルの子である書記シマヤは、王とつかさたちと祭司ザドクとアビヤタルの子アヒメレクと祭司およびレビびとの氏族の長たちの前で、これを書きしるした。すなわちエレアザルのために氏族一つを取れば、イタマルのためにも一つを取った。

⁷And the first lot came forth for Jehoiarib, the second for Jedaiah,

⁸the third for Harim, the fourth for Seorim,

⁸第三はハリムに、第四はセオリムに、

⁹the fifth for Malchijah, the sixth for Mijamin,

⁹第五はマルキヤに、第六はミヤミンに、

¹⁰the seventh for Hakkoz, the eighth for Abijah,

¹⁰第七はハッコヅに、第八はアビヤに、

¹¹the ninth for Jeshuah, the tenth for Shecaniah,

¹¹第九はエシュアに、第十はシカニヤに、

¹²the eleventh for Eliashib, the twelfth for Jakim,

¹²第十一はエリアシブに、第十二はヤキムに、

¹³the thirteenth for Huppah, the fourteenth for Jeshebeab,

¹³第十三はホッパに、第十四はエシバブに、

¹⁴the fifteenth for Bilgah, the sixteenth for Immer,

¹⁴第十五はビルガに、第十六はインメルに、

¹⁵the seventeenth for Hezir, the eighteenth for Happizez,

¹⁵第十七はヘジルに、第十八はハピセツに、

¹⁶the nineteenth for Pethahiah, the twentieth for Ezekiel,

¹⁶第十九はペタヒヤに、第二十はエゼキエルに、

¹⁷the twenty-first for Jachin, the twenty-second for Gamul,

¹⁷第二十一はヤキンに、第二十二はガムルに、

¹⁸the twenty-third for Delaiah, the twenty-fourth for Maaziah.

¹⁸第二十三はデラヤに、第二十四はマアジヤに当った。

¹⁹This is their ordering in their service to come into the house of Jehovah, according to their ordinance, through Aaron their father, as Jehovah the God of Israel had commanded him.

¹⁹これは、彼らの先祖アロンによって設けられた定めにしたがい、主の家にはいって務をなす順序であって、イスラエルの神、主の彼に命じられたとおりである。

²⁰And as for the rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram, Shubael; of the sons of Shubael, Jehdeiah.

²⁰このほかのレビの子孫は次のとおりである。すなわちアムラムの子らのうちではシュバエル。シュバエルの子らのうちではエデヤ。

²¹Of Rehabiah, of the sons of Rehabiah, the head was Jishijah.

²¹レハビヤについては、レハビヤの子らのうちでは長子イシア。

²²Of the Jizharites, Shelomoth; of the sons of Shelomoth, Jahath.

²²イヅハリびとのうちではシロミテ。シロミテの子らのうちではヤハテ。

²³-- And the sons [of Hebron]: Jerijah [the head], Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, Jekameam the fourth.

²³ヘブロンの子らは長子はエリヤ、次はアマリヤ、第三はヤハジエル、第四はエカメアム。

²⁴The sons of Uzziel, Micah; of the sons of Micah, Shamir;

²⁴ウジエルの子らのうちではミカ。ミカの子らのうちではシャミル。

²⁵the brother of Micah was Jishijah; of the sons of Jishijah, Zechariah.

²⁵ミカの兄弟はイシア。イシアの子らのうちではゼカリヤ。

²⁶The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; the sons of Jaaziah, his son.

²⁶メラリの子らはマヘリとムシ。ヤジアの子らはベノ。

²⁷The sons of Merari by Jaaziah his son: Shoham, and Zaccur, and Ibri.

²⁷メラリの子孫のヤジアから出た者はベノ、ショハム、ザックル、イブリ。

²⁸Of Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons.

²⁸マヘリからエレアザルが出た。彼には子がなかった。

²⁹Of Kish, the sons of Kish: Jerahmeel.

²⁹キシについては、キシの子はエラメル。

³⁰And the sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites according to their fathers' houses.

³⁰ムシの子らはマヘリ、エデル、エリモテ。これらはレビびとの子孫で、その氏族によっていった者である。これらの者もまた氏族の兄もその弟も同様に、ダビデ王と、ザドクと、アヒメレクと、祭司およびレビびとの氏族の長たちの前で、アロンの子孫であるその兄弟たちのようにくじを引いた。

³¹These likewise cast lots just as their brethren the sons of Aaron before David the king, and Zadok, and Ahimelech, and the chief fathers of the priests and Levites, -- the chief fathers just as the youngest of their brethren.

³¹これらの者もまた氏族の兄もその弟も同様に、ダビデ王と、ザドクと、アヒメレクと、祭司およびレビびとの氏族の長たちの前で、アロンの子孫であるその兄弟たちのようにくじを引いた。
