1And Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandment which I command you this day.
1モーセとイスラエルの長老たちとは民に命じて言った、「わたしが、きょう、あなたがたに命じるすべての戒めを守りなさい。
2And it shall be on the day when ye pass over the Jordan unto the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaster them with plaster:
2あなたがたがヨルダンを渡ってあなたの神、主が賜わる国にはいる時、あなたは大きな石数個を立てて、それにしっくいを塗り、
3and thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou goest over that thou mayest enter into the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, as Jehovah the God of thy fathers hath promised thee.
3そしてあなたが渡って、あなたの先祖たちの神、主が約束されたようにあなたの神、主が賜わる地、すなわち乳と蜜の流れる地にはいる時、この律法のすべての言葉をその上に書きしるさなければならない。
4And it shall be when ye go over the Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, as I command you this day, on mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaster them with plaster.
4すなわち、あなたがたが、ヨルダンを渡ったならば、わたしが、きょう、あなたがたに命じるそれらの石をエバル山に立て、それにしっくいを塗らなければならない。
5And there shalt thou build an altar to Jehovah thy God, an altar of stones; thou shalt not lift up an iron [tool] upon them;
5またそこにあなたの神、主のために、祭壇、すなわち石の祭壇を築かなければならない。鉄の器を石に当てず、
6of whole stones shalt thou build the altar of Jehovah thy God; and thou shalt offer up burnt-offerings thereon to Jehovah thy God.
6自然のままの石であなたの神、主のために祭壇を築き、その上であなたの神、主に燔祭をささげなければならない。
7And thou shalt sacrifice peace-offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before Jehovah thy God.
7また酬恩祭の犠牲をささげて、その所で食べ、あなたの神、主の前で喜び楽しまなければならない。
8And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.
8あなたはこの律法のすべての言葉をその石の上に明らかに書きしるさなければならない」。
9And Moses and the priests, the Levites, spoke to all Israel, saying, Be silent and hearken, Israel! this day thou art become the people of Jehovah thy God.
9またモーセとレビびとたる祭司たちとは、イスラエルのすべての人々に言った、「イスラエルよ、静かに聞きなさい。あなたは、きょう、あなたの神、主の民となった。
10And thou shalt hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.
10それゆえ、あなたの神、主の声に聞き従い、わたしが、きょう、命じる戒めと定めとを行わなければならない」。
11And Moses gave commandment to the people the same day, saying,
11その日またモーセは民に命じて言った、
12These shall stand to bless the people upon mount Gerizim, when ye have gone over the Jordan: Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin.
12「あなたがたがヨルダンを渡った時、次の人たちはゲリジム山に立って民を祝福しなければならない。すなわちシメオン、レビ、ユダ、イッサカル、ヨセフおよびベニヤミン。
13And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
13また次の人たちはエバル山に立ってのろわなければならない。すなわちルベン、ガド、アセル、ゼブルン、ダンおよびナフタリ。
14And the Levites shall declare and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice:
14そしてレビびとは大声でイスラエルのすべての人々に告げて言わなければならない。
15Cursed be the man that maketh a graven or molten image, an abomination to Jehovah, a work of the craftsman's hand, and putteth it up secretly! And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.
15『工人の手の作である刻んだ像、または鋳た像は、主が憎まれるものであるから、それを造って、ひそかに安置する者はのろわれる』。民は、みな答えてアァメンと言わなければならない。
16Cursed be he that slighteth his father or his mother! And all the people shall say, Amen.
16『父や母を軽んずる者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
17Cursed be he that removeth his neighbour's landmark! And all the people shall say, Amen.
17『隣人との土地の境を移す者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
18Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way! And all the people shall say, Amen.
18『盲人を道に迷わす者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
19Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow! And all the people shall say, Amen.
19『寄留の他国人や孤児、寡婦のさばきを曲げる者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
20Cursed be he that lieth with his father's wife; for he uncovereth his father's skirt! And all the people shall say, Amen.
20『父の妻を犯す者は、父を恥ずかしめるのであるからのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
21Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast! And all the people shall say, Amen.
21『すべて獣を犯す者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
22Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother! And all the people shall say, Amen.
22『父の娘、または母の娘である自分の姉妹を犯す者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
23Cursed be he that lieth with his mother-in-law! And all the people shall say, Amen.
23『妻の母を犯す者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
24Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly! And all the people shall say, Amen.
24『ひそかに隣人を撃ち殺す者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
25Cursed be he that taketh reward to smite mortally [shedding] innocent blood! And all the people shall say, Amen.
25『まいないを取って罪なき者を殺す者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。『この律法の言葉を守り行わない者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
26Cursed be he that confirmeth not the words of this law to do them! And all the people shall say, Amen.
26『この律法の言葉を守り行わない者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
