¹And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

¹また主の言葉がわたしに臨んで言った、

²And thou, son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? Yea, cause her to know all her abominations,

²「人の子よ、あなたはさばくのか。血を流すこの町をさばくのか。それならこの町にそのもろもろの憎むべき事を示して、

³and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: A city that sheddeth blood in her midst, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself.

³言え。主なる神はこう言われる、自分のうちに血を流して、その刑罰の時をまねき、偶像を造ってその身を汚す町よ、

⁴Thou art become guilty by thy blood which thou hast shed, and hast defiled thyself with thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the nations, and a mocking unto all countries.

⁴あなたはその流した血によって罪を得、その造った偶像によって汚れ、あなたの日を近づかせ、あなたの年の定めの時はきた。それゆえわたしはあなたをもろもろの国民のあざけりとなし、万国の物笑いとする。

⁵Those that are near, and those that are far from thee, shall mock thee, who art infamous [and] full of tumult.

⁵あなたに近い者も、遠い者も、汚れと、混乱に満ちているあなたをあざける。

⁶Behold, the princes of Israel have been in thee to shed blood, each according to his power.

⁶見よ、あなたのうちのイスラエルの君たちは、おのおのその力にしたがって、血を流そうとしている。

⁷In thee have they made light of father and mother; in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger; in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.

⁷父母はあなたのうちで卑しめられ、寄留者はあなたのうちで虐待をうけ、みなしごと、やもめとはあなたのうちで悩まされている。

⁸Thou hast despised my holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.

⁸あなたはわたしの聖なるものを卑しめ、わたしの安息日を汚した。

⁹In thee there have been slanderous men to shed blood; and in thee have they eaten upon the mountains; in the midst of thee they have committed lewdness;

⁹人をののしって血を流そうとする者は、あなたのうちにおり、人々はあなたのうちで、山の上で食事をし、あなたのうちで、みだらなおこないをし、

¹⁰in thee have they discovered their fathers' nakedness; in thee have they humbled her that was unclean in her separation.

¹⁰あなたのうちで、父の裸を現し、あなたのうちで、汚れのうちにある女を犯す。

¹¹And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour's wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father's daughter.

¹¹またあなたのうちに、その隣の妻と憎むべき事を行う者があり、淫行をもって、その嫁を汚す者があり、自分の父の娘である自分の姉妹を犯す者があり、

¹²In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast overreached thy neighbours by oppression, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord Jehovah.

¹²また血を流そうとして、あなたのうちで、まいないを取る者がある。あなたは利息と高利とを取り、しえたげによって、あなたの隣り人のものをかすめ、そしてわたしを忘れてしまったと、主なる神は言われる。

¹³And behold, I have smitten mine hand at thine overreaching which thou hast done, and at thy bloodshed which hath been in the midst of thee.

¹³それゆえ見よ、あなたが得た不正の利の事、およびあなたのうちにある流血の事に対して、わたしは手を打ちならす。

¹⁴Shall thy heart endure, shall thy hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I Jehovah have spoken, and will do [it].

¹⁴わたしがあなたを攻める日には、あなたの勇気は、これに耐え得ようか。またあなたの手は強くあり得ようか。主なるわたしはこれを宣言し、これをなす。

¹⁵And I will scatter thee among the nations, and disperse thee through the countries, and will consume thy filthiness out of thee.

¹⁵わたしはあなたを、もろもろの国民のうちに散らし、国々の間にまき、そしてあなたから汚れを除く。

¹⁶And thou shalt be polluted through thyself in the sight of the nations, and thou shalt know that I [am] Jehovah.

¹⁶わたしはあなたによって、もろもろの国民の前に汚される。そしてあなたはわたしが主であることを知る」。

¹⁷And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

¹⁷主の言葉がまたわたしに臨んだ、

¹⁸Son of man, the house of Israel is become dross to me: they are all copper, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace: they are become the dross of silver.

¹⁸「人の子よ、イスラエルの家はわたしに対して、かなかすとなった。彼らはすべて炉の中の銀、青銅、すず、鉄、鉛のかなかすとなった。

¹⁹Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye are all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.

¹⁹それゆえ、主なる神はこう言われる、あなたがたは皆かなかすとなったゆえ、見よ、わたしはあなたがたをエルサレムの中に集める。

²⁰[As] they gather silver, and copper, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it, so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will lay you on and melt you.

²⁰人が銀、青銅、鉄、鉛、すずなどを炉の中に集め、これに火を吹きかけて溶かすように、わたしは怒りと憤りとをもって、あなたがたを集め入れて溶かす。

²¹Yea, I will collect you, and blow upon you the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof.

²¹すなわち、わたしはあなたがたを集め、わたしの怒りの火を、あなたがたに吹きかける。あなたがたはその中で溶ける。

²²As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I Jehovah have poured out my fury upon you.

²²銀が炉の中で溶けるように、あなたがたもその中で溶ける。そしてあなたがたは主なるわたしが、あなたがたの上に、わたしの怒りを注いだことを知るようになる」。

²³And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

²³主の言葉がまたわたしに臨んだ、

²⁴Son of man, say unto her, Thou art a land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation.

²⁴「人の子よ、これに言え、あなたは怒りの日に清められず、また雨の降らない地である。

²⁵There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst of her like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they devour souls; they take away treasure and precious things; they increase her widows in the midst of her;

²⁵その中の君たちは、獲物を裂くほえるししのような者で、彼らは人々を滅ぼし、宝と尊い物とを取り、そのうちに、やもめの数をふやす。

²⁶her priests do violence to my law, and profane my holy things: they put no difference between the holy and profane, neither do they make known [the difference] between the unclean and the clean, and they hide their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

²⁶その祭司たちはわが律法を犯し、聖なる物を汚した。彼らは聖なる物と汚れた物とを区別せず、清くない物と清い物との違いを教えず、わが安息日を無視し、こうしてわたしは彼らの間に汚されている。

²⁷Her princes in the midst of her are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.

²⁷その中にいる君たちは、獲物を裂くおおかみのようで、血を流し、不正の利を得るために人々を滅ぼす。

²⁸And her prophets have daubed for them with untempered [mortar], seeing vanity and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah! and Jehovah hath not spoken.

²⁸その預言者たちは、水しっくいでこれを塗り、偽りの幻を見、彼らに偽りを占い、主が語らないのに『主なる神はこう言われる』と言う。

²⁹The people of the land use oppression and practise robbery; and they vex the poor and needy, and oppress the stranger wrongfully.

²⁹国の民はしえたげを行い、奪うことをなし、乏しい者と貧しい者とをかすめ、不法に他国人をしえたぐ。

³⁰And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the fence, and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none.

³⁰わたしは、国のために石がきを築き、わたしの前にあって、破れ口に立ち、わたしにこれを滅ぼさせないようにする者を、彼らのうちに尋ねたが得られなかった。それゆえ、わたしはわが怒りを彼らの上に注ぎ、わが憤りの火をもって彼らを滅ぼし、彼らのおこないを、そのこうべに報いたと、主なる神は言われる」。

³¹And I will pour out mine indignation upon them; I will consume them in the fire of my wrath: their own way will I recompense upon their head, saith the Lord Jehovah.

³¹それゆえ、わたしはわが怒りを彼らの上に注ぎ、わが憤りの火をもって彼らを滅ぼし、彼らのおこないを、そのこうべに報いたと、主なる神は言われる」。
