¹And thou, son of man, take thee a sharp knife; a barber's razor shalt thou take; and cause it to pass upon thy head and upon thy beard: and thou shalt take balances to weigh, and divide the [hair].

¹人の子よ、鋭いつるぎを取り、それを理髪師のかみそりとして、あなたの頭と、ひげとをそり、はかりで量って、その毛を分けなさい。

²A third part shalt thou burn in the fire in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled; and thou shalt take a third part, [and] smite about it with a knife; and a third part thou shalt scatter to the wind, and I will draw out a sword after them.

²その三分の一は包囲の期間の終る時、町の中で火で焼き、また三分の一を取り、つるぎで町のまわりでこれを打ち、さらに三分の一を風に散らしなさい。わたしはつるぎを抜いて、彼らのあとを追う。

³And thou shalt take thereof a few in number, and bind them in thy skirts;

³あなたはその毛を少し取って、衣のすそに包み、

⁴and thou shalt take of these again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire: from it shall a fire come forth against all the house of Israel.

⁴またそのうちから少しを取って火の中に投げ入れ、火でこれを焼きなさい。火はその中から出て、イスラエルの全家に及ぶ。

⁵Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: This is Jerusalem: I have set her in the midst of the nations, and the countries are round about her.

⁵主なる神はこう言われる、わたしはこのエルサレムを万国の中に置き、国々をそのまわりに置いた。

⁶And she hath rebelled against my judgments in wickedness more than the nations, and against my statutes more than the countries that are round about her: for mine ordinances have they refused; and my statutes, they have not walked in them.

⁶エルサレムは他の国々よりも悪しく、わたしのおきてにそむき、そのまわりの国々よりもわたしの定めにそむいた。すなわち彼らはわたしのおきてを捨て、わたしの定めに歩まなかった。

⁷Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye have been turbulent more than the nations that are round about you, [and] have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept mine ordinances, nor [even] have done according to the ordinances of the nations that are round about you;

⁷それゆえ主はこう言われる、あなたがたはそのまわりにいる異邦人よりも狂暴であって、わたしの定めに歩まず、わたしのおきてを行わず、むしろ、あなたがたの回りにいる異邦人のおきてを守っていた。

⁸therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I, even I, am against thee, and will execute judgments in the midst of thee in the sight of the nations;

⁸それゆえ主なる神はこう言われる、見よ、わたしはあなたを攻め、異邦人の目の前で、あなたの中にさばきを行う。

⁹and I will do in thee that which I have not done, and whereunto I will not do any more the like, because of all thine abominations.

⁹あなたのもろもろの憎むべき事のために、わたしがまだした事のないような事、またこの後ふたたびしないような事をあなたに対してする。

¹⁰Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of thee, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments in thee, and the whole remnant of thee will I scatter to all the winds.

¹⁰それゆえ、あなたのうちで父はその子を食い、子はその父を食う。わたしはあなたに対してさばきを行い、あなたのうちの残りの者をことごとく四方の風に散らす。

¹¹Wherefore, [as] I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, verily because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also withdraw mine eye, and it shall not spare, nor will I have any pity.

¹¹それゆえ、主なる神は言われる、わたしは生きている。あなたはその忌むべき物と、その憎むべき事とをもって、わたしの聖所を汚したので、わたしは必ずあなたの数を減らす。わたしの目はあなたを惜しみ見ず、またわたしはあなたをあわれまない。

¹²A third part of thee shall die by the pestilence, and shall be consumed by the famine in the midst of thee; and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee; and I will scatter a third part to all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them.

¹²あなたの三分の一はあなたの中で疫病で死に、ききんで滅び、三分の一はあなたのまわりでつるぎに倒れ、三分の一は四方の風に散らされる。わたしはつるぎを抜いてそのあとを追う。

¹³And mine anger shall be accomplished, and I will satisfy my fury upon them, and I will comfort myself; and they shall know that I Jehovah have spoken in my jealousy, when I have accomplished my fury upon them.

¹³こうしてわたしは怒りを漏らし尽し、憤りを彼らの上に漏らして、満足する。こうして、わたしの憤りを彼らの上に漏らし尽した時、彼らは主であるわたしが熱心に語ったことを知るであろう。

¹⁴And I will make thee a waste and a reproach among the nations that are round about thee, in the sight of all that pass by.

¹⁴わたしはまわりにある国々の中と、すべてそばを通る者の目の前であなたを滅亡とあざけりに渡す。

¹⁵And it shall be a reproach, and a taunt, an instruction, and an astonishment unto the nations that are round about thee, when I shall execute judgments upon thee in anger, and in fury, and in furious rebukes: I, Jehovah, have spoken.

¹⁵わたしが怒りと、憤りと、重い懲罰とをもって、あなたに対してさばきを行う時、あなたはそのまわりにある国々のあざけりとなり、そしりとなり、戒めとなり、驚きとなる。これは主であるわたしが語るのである。

¹⁶When I send upon them the evil arrows of famine, that are for [their] destruction, which I send to destroy you, then will I increase the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread.

¹⁶すなわち、わたしがあなたを滅ぼすききんの矢、滅亡の矢をあなたに放つ時、わたしはあなたを滅ぼすために放つのだ。わたしはあなたの上にききんを増し加え、あなたがつえとするパンを打ち砕く。わたしはあなたにききんと野獣を送って、あなたの子を奪い取り、また疫病と流血にあなたの中を通らせ、またつるぎをあなたに送る。主であるわたしがこれを言う」。

¹⁷And I will send upon you famine and evil beasts, which shall bereave thee of children; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee: I, Jehovah, have spoken.

¹⁷わたしはあなたにききんと野獣を送って、あなたの子を奪い取り、また疫病と流血にあなたの中を通らせ、またつるぎをあなたに送る。主であるわたしがこれを言う」。
