¹And Joseph could not control himself before all them that stood by him, and he cried, Put every man out from me! And no man stood with him when Joseph made himself known to his brethren.

¹そこでヨセフはそばに立っているすべての人の前で、自分を制しきれなくなったので、「人は皆ここから出てください」と呼ばわった。それゆえヨセフが兄弟たちに自分のことを明かした時、ひとりも彼のそばに立っている者はなかった。

²And he raised his voice in weeping; and the Egyptians heard, and the house of Pharaoh heard.

²ヨセフは声をあげて泣いた。エジプトびとはこれを聞き、パロの家もこれを聞いた。

³And Joseph said to his brethren, I am Joseph. Does my father yet live? And his brethren could not answer him, for they were troubled at his presence.

³ヨセフは兄弟たちに言った、「わたしはヨセフです。父はまだ生きながらえていますか」。兄弟たちは答えることができなかった。彼らは驚き恐れたからである。

⁴And Joseph said to his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.

⁴ヨセフは兄弟たちに言った、「わたしに近寄ってください」。彼らが近寄ったので彼は言った、「わたしはあなたがたの弟ヨセフです。あなたがたがエジプトに売った者です。

⁵And now, be not grieved, and be not angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither, for God sent me before you to preserve life.

⁵しかしわたしをここに売ったのを嘆くことも、悔むこともいりません。神は命を救うために、あなたがたよりさきにわたしをつかわされたのです。

⁶For the famine has been these two years in the land; and yet there are five years in which there will be neither ploughing nor harvest.

⁶この二年の間、国中にききんがあったが、なお五年の間は耕すことも刈り入れることもないでしょう。

⁷So God sent me before you to preserve you a remnant in the earth, and to save you alive by a great deliverance.

⁷神は、あなたがたのすえを地に残すため、また大いなる救をもってあなたがたの命を助けるために、わたしをあなたがたよりさきにつかわされたのです。

⁸And now it was not you [that] sent me here, but God; and he has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and governor over all the land of Egypt.

⁸それゆえわたしをここにつかわしたのはあなたがたではなく、神です。神はわたしをパロの父とし、その全家の主とし、またエジプト全国のつかさとされました。

⁹Haste and go up to my father, and say to him, Thus says thy son Joseph: God has made me lord of all Egypt; come down to me, tarry not.

⁹あなたがたは父のもとに急ぎ上って言いなさい、『あなたの子ヨセフが、こう言いました。神がわたしをエジプト全国の主とされたから、ためらわずにわたしの所へ下ってきなさい。

¹⁰And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen, and thou shalt be near to me, thou, and thy sons, and thy sons' sons, and thy sheep, and thy cattle, and all that thou hast.

¹⁰あなたはゴセンの地に住み、あなたも、あなたの子らも、孫たちも、羊も牛も、その他のものもみな、わたしの近くにおらせます。

¹¹And there will I maintain thee; for yet there are five years of famine; in order that thou be not impoverished, thou, and thy household, and all that thou hast.

¹¹ききんはなお五年つづきますから、あなたも、家族も、その他のものも、みな困らないように、わたしはそこで養いましょう』。

¹²And behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth which speaks to you.

¹²あなたがたと弟ベニヤミンが目に見るとおり、あなたがたに口ら語っているのはこのわたしです。

¹³And tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that ye have seen, and haste and bring down my father hither.

¹³あなたがたはエジプトでの、わたしのいっさいの栄えと、あなたがたが見るいっさいの事をわたしの父に告げ、急いでわたしの父をここへ連れ下りなさい」。

¹⁴And he fell on his brother Benjamin's neck, and wept; and Benjamin wept on his neck.

¹⁴そしてヨセフは弟ベニヤミンのくびを抱いて泣き、ベニヤミンも彼のくびを抱いて泣いた。

¹⁵And he kissed all his brethren, and wept upon them; and after that his brethren talked with him.

¹⁵またヨセフはすべての兄弟たちに口づけし、彼らを抱いて泣いた。そして後、兄弟たちは彼と語った。

¹⁶And the report was heard in Pharaoh's house, saying, Joseph's brethren are come. And it was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his bondmen.

¹⁶時に、「ヨセフの兄弟たちがきた」と言ううわさがパロの家に聞えたので、パロとその家来たちとは喜んだ。

¹⁷And Pharaoh said to Joseph, Say to thy brethren, Do this: load your beasts and depart, go into the land of Canaan,

¹⁷パロはヨセフに言った、「兄弟たちに言いなさい、『あなたがたは、こうしなさい。獣に荷を負わせてカナンの地へ行き、

¹⁸and take your father and your households, and come to me; and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eat the fat of the land.

¹⁸父と家族とを連れてわたしのもとへきなさい。わたしはあなたがたに、エジプトの地の良い物を与えます。あなたがたは、この国の最も良いものを食べるでしょう』。

¹⁹And thou art commanded -- this do: take waggons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones and for your wives, and take up your father, and come.

¹⁹また彼らに命じなさい、『あなたがたは、こうしなさい。幼な子たちと妻たちのためにエジプトの地から車をもって行き、父を連れてきなさい。

²⁰And let not your eye regret your stuff; for the good of all the land of Egypt shall be yours.

²⁰家財に心を引かれてはなりません。エジプト全国の良い物は、あなたがたのものだからです』」。

²¹And the sons of Israel did so; and Joseph gave them waggons, according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the way.

²¹イスラエルの子らはそのようにした。ヨセフはパロの命に従って彼らに車を与え、また途中の食料をも与えた。

²²To each one of them all he gave changes of clothing; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred [pieces] of silver and five changes of clothing.

²²まためいめいに晴着を与えたが、ベニヤミンには銀三百シケルと晴着五着とを与えた。

²³And to his father he sent this: ten asses laden with the good things of Egypt, and ten she-asses laden with corn and bread, and food for his father by the way.

²³また彼は父に次のようなものを贈った。すなわちエジプトの良い物を負わせたろば十頭と、穀物、パン及び父の道中の食料を負わせた雌ろば十頭。

²⁴And he sent his brethren away, and they departed. And he said to them, Do not quarrel on the way.

²⁴こうしてヨセフは兄弟たちを送り去らせ、彼らに言った、「途中で争ってはなりません」。

²⁵And they went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan to Jacob their father.

²⁵彼らはエジプトから上ってカナンの地に入り、父ヤコブのもとへ行って、

²⁶And they told him, saying, Joseph is still alive, and he is governor over all the land of Egypt. And his heart fainted, for he did not believe them.

²⁶彼に言った、「ヨセフはなお生きていてエジプト全国のつかさです」。ヤコブは気が遠くなった。彼らの言うことが信じられなかったからである。

²⁷And they spoke to him all the words of Joseph, which he had spoken to them. And he saw the waggons that Joseph had sent to carry him. And the spirit of Jacob their father revived.

²⁷そこで彼らはヨセフが語った言葉を残らず彼に告げた。父ヤコブはヨセフが自分を乗せるために送った車を見て元気づいた。そしてイスラエルは言った、「満足だ。わが子ヨセフがまだ生きている。わたしは死ぬ前に行って彼を見よう」。

²⁸And Israel said, It is enough: Joseph my son is yet alive; I will go and see him before I die.

²⁸そしてイスラエルは言った、「満足だ。わが子ヨセフがまだ生きている。わたしは死ぬ前に行って彼を見よう」。
