¹And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

¹主はモーセに言われた、

²Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land of Canaan, this shall be the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, the land of Canaan according to the borders thereof.

²「イスラエルの人々に命じて言いなさい。あなたがたがカナンの地にはいるとき、あなたがたの嗣業となるべき地はカナンの地で、その全域は次のとおりである。

³Then your south side shall be from the wilderness of Zin alongside of Edom, and your southern border shall be from the end of the salt sea eastward;

³南の方はエドムに接するチンの荒野に始まり、南の境は、東は塩の海の端に始まる。

⁴and your border shall turn from the south of the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin, and shall end southward at Kadesh-barnea, and shall go on to Hazar-Addar, and pass on to Azmon.

⁴その境はアクラビムの坂の南を巡ってチンに向かい、カデシ・バルネアの南に至り、ハザル・アダルに進み、アズモンに及ぶ。

⁵And the border shall turn from Azmon unto the torrent of Egypt, and shall end at the sea.

⁵その境はまたアズモンから転じてエジプトの川に至り、海に及んで尽きる。

⁶And as west border ye shall have the great sea, and [its] coast. This shall be your west border.

⁶西の境はおおうみとその沿岸で、これがあなたがたの西の境である。

⁷And this shall be your north border: from the great sea ye shall mark out for you mount Hor;

⁷あなたがたの北の境は次のとおりである。すなわちおおうみからホル山まで線を引き、

⁸from mount Hor ye shall mark out the entrance to Hamath, and the end of the border shall be toward Zedad;

⁸ホル山からハマテの入口まで線を引き、その境をゼダデに至らせ、

⁹and the border shall go to Ziphron, and shall end at Hazar-enan. This shall be your north border.

⁹またその境はジフロンに進み、ハザル・エノンに至って尽きる。これがあなたがたの北の境である。

¹⁰And ye shall mark out for you as eastern border from Hazar-enan to Shepham:

¹⁰あなたがたの東の境は、ハザル・エノンからシパムまで線を引き、

¹¹and the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall descend, and shall strike upon the extremity of the sea of Chinnereth eastward;

¹¹またその境はアインの東の方で、シパムからリブラに下り、またその境は下ってキンネレテの海の東の斜面に至り、

¹²and the border shall go down to the Jordan, and shall end at the salt sea. This shall be your land according to the borders thereof round about.

¹²またその境はヨルダンに下り、塩の海に至って尽きる。あなたがたの国の周囲の境は以上のとおりである」。

¹³And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, This is the land which ye shall take for yourselves as inheritance by lot, which Jehovah commanded to give to the nine tribes, and to the half tribe.

¹³モーセはイスラエルの人々に命じて言った、「これはあなたがたが、くじによって継ぐべき地である。主はこれを九つの部族と半部族とに与えよと命じられた。

¹⁴For the tribe of the children of the Reubenites according to their fathers' houses, and the tribe of the children of the Gadites according to their fathers' houses, have received, and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance;

¹⁴それはルベンの子孫の部族とガドの子孫の部族とが共に父祖の家にしたがって、すでにその嗣業を受け、またマナセの半部族もその嗣業を受けていたからである。

¹⁵the two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side the Jordan of Jericho eastward, toward the sun-rising.

¹⁵この二つの部族と半部族とはエリコに近いヨルダンのかなた、すなわち東の方、日の出る方で、その嗣業を受けた」。

¹⁶And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

¹⁶主はまたモーセに言われた、

¹⁷These are the names of the men who shall divide the land unto you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun.

¹⁷「あなたがたに、嗣業として地を分け与える人々の名は次のとおりである。すなわち祭司エレアザルと、ヌンの子ヨシュアとである。

¹⁸And ye shall take one prince of every tribe, to divide the land.

¹⁸あなたがたはまた、おのおの部族から、つかさひとりずつを選んで、地を分け与えさせなければならない。

¹⁹And these are the names of the men: for the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh;

¹⁹その人々の名は次のとおりである。すなわちユダの部族ではエフンネの子カレブ、

²⁰and for the tribe of the children of Simeon, Samuel the son of Ammihud;

²⁰シメオンの子孫の部族ではアミホデの子サムエル、

²¹for the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon;

²¹ベニヤミンの部族ではキスロンの子エリダデ、

²²and for the tribe of the children of Dan, a prince, Bukki the son of Jogli;

²²ダンの子孫の部族ではヨグリの子つかさブッキ、

²³for the children of Joseph: for the tribe of the children of Manasseh, a prince, Hanniel the son of Ephod,

²³ヨセフの子孫、すなわちマナセの部族ではエポデの子つかさハニエル、

²⁴and for the tribe of the children of Ephraim, a prince, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan;

²⁴エフライムの子孫の部族ではシフタンの子つかさケムエル、

²⁵and for the tribe of the children of Zebulun, a prince, Elizaphan the son of Pharnach;

²⁵ゼブルンの子孫の部族ではパルナクの子つかさエリザパン、

²⁶and for the tribe of the children of Issachar, a prince, Phaltiel the son of Azzan;

²⁶イッサカルの子孫の部族ではアザンの子つかさパルテエル、

²⁷and for the tribe of the children of Asher, a prince, Ahihud the son of Shelomi;

²⁷アセルの子孫の部族ではシロミの子つかさアヒウデ、

²⁸and for the tribe of the children of Naphtali, a prince, Phedahel the son of Ammihud.

²⁸ナフタリの子孫の部族では、アミホデの子つかさパダヘル。カナンの地でイスラエルの人々に嗣業を分け与えることを主が命じられた人々は以上のとおりである」。

²⁹These are they whom Jehovah commanded to distribute to the children of Israel their inheritance in the land of Canaan.

²⁹カナンの地でイスラエルの人々に嗣業を分け与えることを主が命じられた人々は以上のとおりである」。
