¹And Jehovah spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after their departure from the land of Egypt, saying,

¹エジプトの国を出た次の年の正月、主はシナイの荒野でモーセに言われた、

²Let the children of Israel also hold the passover at its set time;

²「イスラエルの人々に、過越の祭を定めの時に行わせなさい。

³on the fourteenth day in this month between the two evenings, ye shall hold it at its set time; according to all the rites of it, and according to all the ordinances thereof shall ye hold it.

³この月の十四日の夕暮、定めの時に、それを行わなければならない。あなたがたは、そのすべての定めと、そのすべてのおきてにしたがって、それを行わなければならない」。

⁴And Moses spoke to the children of Israel, that they should hold the passover.

⁴そこでモーセがイスラエルの人々に、過越の祭を行わなければならないと言ったので、

⁵And they held the passover in the first [month] on the fourteenth day of the month, between the two evenings, in the wilderness of Sinai: according to all that Jehovah had commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel.

⁵彼らは正月の十四日の夕暮、シナイの荒野で過越の祭を行った。すなわち、イスラエルの人々は、すべて主がモーセに命じられたようにおこなった。

⁶And there were men, who were unclean through the dead body of a man, and could not hold the passover on that day; and they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day.

⁶ところが人の死体に触れて身を汚したために、その日に過越の祭を行うことのできない人々があって、その日モーセとアロンの前にきて、

⁷And those men said to him, We are unclean by reason of the dead body of a man: why are we kept back, that we may not present the offering of Jehovah at its set time among the children of Israel?

⁷その人々は彼に言った、「わたしたちは人の死体に触れて身を汚しましたが、なぜその定めの時に、イスラエルの人々と共に、主に供え物をささげることができないのですか」。

⁸And Moses said to them, Stay, and I will hear what Jehovah commands concerning you.

⁸モーセは彼らに言った、「しばらく待て。主があなたがたについて、どう仰せになるかを聞こう」。

⁹And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

⁹主はモーセに言われた、

¹⁰Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If any one of you or of your generations be unclean by reason of a dead body or be on a journey afar off, yet he shall hold the passover to Jehovah.

¹⁰「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『あなたがたのうち、また、あなたがたの子孫のうち、死体に触れて身を汚した人も、遠い旅路にある人も、なお、過越の祭を主に対して行うことができるであろう。

¹¹In the second month, on the fourteenth day, between the two evenings, shall they hold it; with unleavened bread and bitter herbs shall they eat it.

¹¹すなわち、二月の十四日の夕暮、それを行い、種入れぬパンと苦菜を添えて、それを食べなければならない。

¹²They shall leave none of it until the morning, nor break a bone thereof: according to every ordinance of the passover shall they hold it.

¹²これを少しでも朝まで残しておいてはならない。またその骨は一本でも折ってはならない。過越の祭のすべての定めにしたがってこれを行わなければならない。

¹³But a man that is clean, and is not on a journey, and forbeareth to hold the passover, that soul shall be cut off from among his peoples; because he presented not the offering of Jehovah at its set time: that man shall bear his sin.

¹³しかし、その身は清く、旅に出てもいないのに、過越の祭を行わないときは、その人は民のうちから断たれるであろう。このような人は、定めの時に主の供え物をささげないゆえ、その罪を負わなければならない。

¹⁴And if a stranger shall sojourn among you, and would hold the passover to Jehovah, according to the rite of the passover, and according to the ordinance thereof, so shall he do. Ye shall have one rite, both for the stranger and for him that is born in the land.

¹⁴もし他国の人が、あなたがたのうちに寄留していて、主に対して過越の祭を行おうとするならば、過越の祭の定めにより、そのおきてにしたがって、これを行わなければならない。あなたがたは他国の人にも、自国の人にも、同一の定めを用いなければならない』」。

¹⁵And on the day that the tabernacle was set up, the cloud covered the tabernacle of the tent of testimony; and at even it was upon the tabernacle as the appearance of fire, until the morning.

¹⁵幕屋を建てた日に、雲は幕屋をおおった。すれはすなわち、あかしの幕屋であって、夕には、幕屋の上に、雲は火のように見えて、朝にまで及んだ。

¹⁶So it was continually: the cloud covered it, and at night it was as the appearance of fire.

¹⁶常にそうであって、昼は雲がそれをおおい、夜は火のように見えた。

¹⁷And when the cloud rose from the tent, then the children of Israel journeyed; and at the place where the cloud stood still, there the children of Israel encamped.

¹⁷雲が幕屋を離れてのぼる時は、イスラエルの人々は、ただちに道に進んだ。また雲がとどまる所に、イスラエルの人々は宿営した。

¹⁸According to the commandment of Jehovah the children of Israel journeyed, and according to the commandment of Jehovah they [remained] encamped; all the days that the cloud dwelt upon the tabernacle they encamped.

¹⁸すなわち、イスラエルの人々は、主の命によって道に進み、主の命によって宿営し、幕屋の上に雲がとどまっている間は、宿営していた。

¹⁹And when the cloud was long upon the tabernacle many days, then the children of Israel kept the charge of Jehovah, and journeyed not.

¹⁹幕屋の上に、日久しく雲のとどまる時は、イスラエルの人々は主の言いつけを守って、道に進まなかった。

²⁰And if it were so that the cloud was a few days upon the tabernacle, according to the commandment of Jehovah they encamped, and according to the commandment of Jehovah they journeyed.

²⁰また幕屋の上に、雲のとどまる日の少ない時もあったが、彼らは、ただ主の命にしたがって宿営し、主の命にしたがって、道に進んだ。

²¹And if it were so that the cloud was there from the evening until the morning, and that the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed; or a day and a night, and the cloud was taken up, they journeyed;

²¹また雲は夕から朝まで、とどまることもあったが、朝になって、雲がのぼる時は、彼らは道に進んだ。また昼でも夜でも、雲がのぼる時は、彼らは道に進んだ。

²²or two days, or a month, or many days, when the cloud was long upon the tabernacle, dwelling upon it, the children of Israel [remained] encamped, and journeyed not; but when it was taken up, they journeyed.

²²ふつかでも、一か月でも、あるいはそれ以上でも、幕屋の上に、雲がとどまっている間は、イスラエルの人々は宿営していて、道に進まなかったが、それがのぼると道に進んだ。すなわち、彼らは主の命にしたがって宿営し、主の命にしたがって道に進み、モーセによって、主が命じられたとおりに、主の言いつけを守った。

²³At the commandment of Jehovah they encamped, and at the commandment of Jehovah they journeyed: they kept the charge of Jehovah according to the commandment of Jehovah through Moses.

²³すなわち、彼らは主の命にしたがって宿営し、主の命にしたがって道に進み、モーセによって、主が命じられたとおりに、主の言いつけを守った。
