³The sea saw it and fled, the Jordan turned back;

³海はこれを見て逃げ、ヨルダンはうしろに退き、

⁴The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.

⁴山は雄羊のように踊り、小山は小羊のように踊った。

⁵What ailed thee, thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou turnedst back?

⁵海よ、おまえはどうして逃げるのか、ヨルダンよ、おまえはどうしてうしろに退くのか。

⁶Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams? ye hills, like lambs?

⁶山よ、おまえたちはどうして雄羊のように踊るのか、小山よ、おまえたちはどうして小羊のように踊るのか。

⁷Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the +God of Jacob,

⁷地よ、主のみ前におののけ、ヤコブの神のみ前におののけ。主は岩を池に変らせ、石を泉に変らせられた。

⁸Who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
