¹{An instruction of David; when he was in the cave: a prayer.} I cry unto Jehovah with my voice: with my voice unto Jehovah do I make supplication.

¹わたしは声を出して主に呼ばわり、声を出して主に願い求めます。

²I pour out my plaint before him; I shew before him my trouble.

²わたしはみ前にわが嘆きを注ぎ出し、み前にわが悩みをあらわします。

³When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then *thou* knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they hidden a snare for me.

³わが霊のわがうちに消えうせようとする時も、あなたはわが道を知られます。彼らはわたしを捕えようとわたしの行く道にわなを隠しました。

⁴Look on the right hand and see; there is no man that knoweth me: refuge hath failed me; no man careth for my soul.

⁴わたしは右の方に目を注いで見回したが、わたしに心をとめる者はひとりもありません。わたしには避け所がなく、わたしをかえりみる人はありません。

⁵I cried unto thee, Jehovah; I said, Thou art my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.

⁵主よ、わたしはあなたに呼ばわります。わたしは言います、「あなたはわが避け所、生ける者の地でわたしの受くべき分です。

⁶Attend unto my cry, for I am brought very low; deliver me from my persecutors, for they are stronger than I.

⁶どうか、わが叫びにみこころをとめてください。わたしは、はなはだしく低くされています。わたしを責める者から助け出してください。彼らはわたしにまさって強いのです。わたしをひとやから出し、み名に感謝させてください。あなたが豊かにわたしをあしらわれるので、正しい人々はわたしのまわりに集まるでしょう」。

⁷Bring my soul out of prison, that I may celebrate thy name. The righteous shall surround me, because thou dealest bountifully with me.
