¹In the third month after the departure of the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they [into] the wilderness of Sinai:

¹Trečią mėnesį po to, kai išėjo iš Egipto, Izraelio vaikai tą pačią dieną atvyko į Sinajaus dykumą.

²they departed from Rephidim, and came [into] the wilderness of Sinai, and encamped in the wilderness; and Israel encamped there before the mountain.

²Nes jie buvo išėję iš Refidimo ir, atėję į Sinajaus dykumą, apsistojo. Jie pasistatė stovyklą ties kalnu,

³And Moses went up to God, and Jehovah called to him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:

³ir Mozė užkopė ant kalno pas Dievą. Viešpats pašaukė jį nuo kalno, sakydamas: “Taip sakysi Jokūbo namams ir Izraelio vaikams:

⁴Ye have seen what I have done to the Egyptians, and [how] I have borne you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.

⁴‘Jūs matėte, ką padariau egiptiečiams, kaip nešiau jus lyg ant erelio sparnų ir atgabenau jus prie savęs.

⁵And now, if ye will hearken to my voice indeed and keep my covenant, then shall ye be my own possession out of all the peoples -- for all the earth is mine --

⁵Taigi dabar, jei paklusite mano balsui ir laikysitės mano sandoros, būsite ypatinga mano nuosavybė tarp visų tautų. Man priklauso visa žemė.

⁶and ye shall be to me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak to the children of Israel.

⁶Jūs būsite man kunigų karalystė ir šventa tauta’. Šiuos žodžius kalbėk izraelitams”.

⁷And Moses came and called the elders of the people, and laid before the mall these words which Jehovah had commanded him.

⁷Sugrįžęs Mozė sušaukė tautos vyresniuosius ir jiems pranešė viską, ką Viešpats įsakė.

⁸And all the people answered together, and said, All that Jehovah has spoken will we do! And Moses brought the words of the people back to Jehovah.

⁸Tada visa tauta atsakė: “Visa, ką Viešpats kalbėjo, darysime”. Mozė perdavė tautos atsakymą Viešpačiui.

⁹And Jehovah said to Moses, Lo, I will come to thee in the cloud's thick darkness, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee also for ever. And Moses told the words of the people to Jehovah.

⁹Viešpats sakė Mozei: “Aš ateisiu pas tave tirštame debesyje, kad, man kalbant su tavimi, tauta girdėtų ir tavimi tikėtų per amžius”. Mozė pranešė tautos žodžius Viešpačiui,

¹⁰And Jehovah said to Moses, Go to the people, and hallow them to-day and to-morrow, and let them wash their clothes;

¹⁰o Jis tarė Mozei: “Eik pas žmones ir pašventink juos šiandien ir rytoj. Teišsiskalbia jie drabužius

¹¹and let them be ready for the third day; for on the third day Jehovah will come down before the eyes of all the people on mount Sinai.

¹¹ir tepasirengia trečiajai dienai. Trečią dieną Aš nužengsiu ant Sinajaus kalno visai tautai matant.

¹²And set bounds round about the people, saying, Take heed to yourselves, [not] to go up unto the mountain nor touch the border of it: whatever toucheth the mountain shall certainly be put to death:

¹²Nužymėk ribas aplink kalną ir įsakyk žmonėms, kad nedrįstų lipti į kalną ar paliesti jo kraštą, nes kiekvienas, kuris palies kalną, numirs.

¹³not a hand shall touch it, but it shall certainly be stoned, or shot through; whether it be a beast or a man, it shall not live. When the long drawn note of the trumpet soundeth, they shall come up to the mountain.

¹³Kas palies, tas bus užmuštas akmenimis arba pervertas strėle; nei žmogus, nei gyvulys neišliks gyvas. Išgirdę ilgą trimito garsą, jie tepriartėja prie kalno”.

¹⁴And Moses came down from the mountain to the people, and hallowed the people; and they washed their clothes.

¹⁴Mozė, grįžęs nuo kalno, pašventino žmones. Ir jie išsiplovė drabužius.

¹⁵And he said to the people, Be ready for the third day; do not come near [your] wives.

¹⁵Jis jiems tarė: “Būkite pasiruošę trečiajai dienai; nė vienas tenesiartina prie savo žmonos!”

¹⁶And it came to pass on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunders and lightnings and a heavy cloud on the mountain, and the sound of the trumpet exceeding loud; and the whole people that was in the camp trembled.

¹⁶Trečiąją dieną, rytui išaušus griaudėjo perkūnija ir žaibavo, tamsūs debesys apdengė kalną ir pasigirdo labai stiprus trimito garsas. Visi žmonės stovykloje pradėjo drebėti.

¹⁷And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the foot of the mountain.

¹⁷Mozė išvedė tautą iš stovyklos susitikti su Dievu. Jie sustojo kalno papėdėje.

¹⁸And the whole of mount Sinai smoked, because Jehovah descended on it in fire; and its smoke ascended as the smoke of a furnace; and the whole mountain shook greatly.

¹⁸Visas Sinajaus kalnas buvo apgaubtas dūmų, nes Viešpats nužengė ugnyje ant jo. Dūmai kilo tarsi iš krosnies, visas kalnas smarkiai drebėjo.

¹⁹And the sound of the trumpet increased and became exceeding loud; Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.

¹⁹Trimito garsas vis stiprėjo. Mozė kalbėjo, o Dievas jam atsakinėjo balsu.

²⁰And Jehovah came down on mount Sinai, on the top of the mountain; and Jehovah called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.

²⁰Viešpats nužengė ant Sinajaus kalno viršūnės ir, pasišaukęs Mozę ant kalno,

²¹And Jehovah said to Moses, Go down, testify to the people that they break not through to Jehovah to gaze, and many of them perish.

²¹jam tarė: “Nulipk žemyn, įspėk žmones, kad nesiveržtų, norėdami išvysti Viešpatį, ir daugelis jų nežūtų.

²²And the priests also, who come near to Jehovah, shall hallow themselves, lest Jehovah break forth on them.

²²Taip pat ir kunigai, kurie artinasi prie Viešpaties, tegul pasišventina, kad Viešpats jų neištiktų”.

²³And Moses said to Jehovah, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai; for thou hast testified to us, saying, Set bounds about the mountain, and hallow it.

²³Mozė sakė Viešpačiui: “Žmonės negali užlipti į Sinajaus kalną. Tu mus įspėjai nužymėti ribą aplink kalną ir pašventinti jį”.

²⁴And Jehovah said to him, Go, descend, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee; but the priests and the people shall not break through to go up to Jehovah, lest he break forth on them.

²⁴Viešpats jam atsakė: “Nusileisk ir grįžk su Aaronu. Tačiau kunigai ir tauta tegul nesiveržia prie Viešpaties, kad Jis jų nesunaikintų”.

²⁵So Moses went down to the people, and told them.

²⁵Mozė grįžo pas tautą ir kalbėjo jiems.
