1And Balaam said to Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks and seven rams.
1Tada Balaamas kalbėjo Balakui: “Pastatydink man čia septynis aukurus ir paruošk man septynis veršius ir septynis avinus”.
2And Balak did as Balaam had said; and Balak and Balaam offered up a bullock and a ram on [each] altar.
2Balakas padarė, kaip Balaamas sakė. Tada juodu aukojo po veršį ir aviną ant kiekvieno aukuro.
3And Balaam said to Balak, Stand by thy burnt-offering, and I will go; perhaps Jehovah will come to meet me; and whatever he shews me I will tell thee. And he went to a hill.
3Balaamas tarė Balakui: “Pastovėk prie savo deginamosios aukos, o aš pasitrauksiu ir lauksiu Viešpaties žodžio: aš tau pasakysiu, ką Jis lieps”. Jis nuėjo į nuošalią aukštumą.
4And God met Balaam; and [Balaam] said to him, I have disposed seven altars, and have offered up a bullock and a ram upon [each] altar.
4Ten jį sutiko Dievas. Balaamas Jam kalbėjo: “Pastatydinau septynis aukurus ir aukojau ant jų po veršį ir aviną”.
5And Jehovah put a word in Balaam's mouth, and said, Return to Balak, and thus shalt thou speak.
5Viešpats įdėjo žodį į Balaamo lūpas ir sakė: “Grįžk pas Balaką ir taip kalbėk”.
6And he returned to him, and behold, he was standing by his burnt-offering, he, and all the princes of Moab.
6Sugrįžęs rado stovintį Balaką prie savo deginamosios aukos su visais Moabo kunigaikščiais.
7And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, from the mountains of the east: Come, curse me Jacob, and come, denounce Israel!
7Jis kalbėjo: “Iš Aramo mane atvedė Balakas, moabitų karalius, iš rytų šalies kalnų pašaukė mane: ‘Ateik ir prakeik Jokūbą, linkėk pikta Izraeliui’.
8How shall I curse whom ùGod hath not cursed? or how shall I denounce whom Jehovah doth not denounce?
8Kaipgi aš keikčiau, ko Dievas nekeikia? Kaipgi aš pasmerkčiau, ko Viešpats nesmerkia?
9For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: Lo, [it is] a people that shall dwell alone and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
9Aš matau juos nuo uolų viršūnių ir į juos žiūriu nuo kalnų. Ta tauta gyvena atskirai ir neprisideda prie kitų tautų.
10Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let my soul die the death of the righteous, and let my end be like his!
10Kas galėtų suskaityti Jokūbo dulkes ir suskaičiuoti ketvirtadalį Izraelio? O, kad galėčiau mirti teisiųjų mirtimi! O, kad mirčiau ramybėje kaip jie!”
11And Balak said to Balaam, What hast thou done to me? I took thee to curse mine enemies, and behold, thou hast blessed them altogether.
11Balakas sakė Balaamui: “Ką tu man padarei? Aš tave pasišaukiau, kad prakeiktum mano priešus, o tu juos palaiminai”.
12And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which Jehovah puts in my mouth?
12Tas jam atsakė: “Argi aš neturiu kalbėti to, ką Viešpats įdeda į mano lūpas?”
13And Balak said to him, Come, I pray thee, with me to another place, from whence thou wilt see them; thou shalt see only the extremity of them and shalt not see them all, and curse me them from thence.
13Balakas sakė jam: “Eikš su manimi į kitą vietą, kur matysi izraelitų dalį, bet visų negalėsi matyti; iš ten juos prakeiksi”.
14And he took him to the watchmen's field, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered up a bullock and a ram on [each] altar.
14Kai jį nuvedė ant Pisgos kalno viršūnės, jis ten pastatydino septynis aukurus ir ant kiekvieno aukojo po veršį ir aviną.
15And [Balaam] said to Balak, Stand here by thy burnt-offering, and I will go to meet yonder.
15Tada Balaamas tarė Balakui: “Stovėk čia prie deginamosios aukos, o aš eisiu pasitikti Viešpaties”.
16And Jehovah met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, Return to Balak, and thus shalt thou speak.
16Viešpats sutiko Balaamą ir įdėjo žodį į jo lūpas, sakydamas: “Eik vėl pas Balaką ir pasakyk tai”.
17And he came to him, and behold, he was standing by his burnt-offering, and the princes of Moab with him; and Balak said to him, What has Jehovah spoken?
17Sugrįžęs jis rado Balaką stovintį prie savo deginamosios aukos kartu su Moabo kunigaikščiais. Balakas klausė jo: “Ką tau kalbėjo Viešpats?”
18Then he took up his parable and said, Rise up, Balak, and hear! hearken unto me, son of Zippor!
18Balaamas atsakė: “Balakai, klausykis ir išgirsk, Ciporo sūnau!
19ùGod is not a man, that he should lie; neither a son of man, that he should repent. Shall he say and not do? and shall he speak and not make it good?
19Dievas ne žmogus, kad meluotų, ir ne žmogaus sūnus, kad pakeistų savo nuomonę. Ar Jis pasakė ir nepadarys? Ar Jis kalbėjo ir neįvykdys?
20Behold, I have received [mission] to bless; and he hath blessed, and I cannot reverse it.
20Man įsakyta laiminti; Jis palaimino, ir aš negaliu to pakeisti.
21He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen wrong in Israel; Jehovah his God is with him, and the shout of a king is in his midst.
21Jis nerado nedorybės Jokūbe ir neįžiūrėjo neteisybės Izraelyje. Viešpats, jų Dievas, yra su jais, ir karaliaus šauksmas girdimas tarp jų.
22ùGod brought him out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of a buffalo.
22Dievas juos išvedė iš Egipto, jų galybė kaip stumbro.
23For there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel. At this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath ùGod wrought!
23Nėra užkeikimo prieš Jokūbą nei ištarmės prieš Izraelį; ateis laikas, kai apie Izraelį sakys: ‘Štai ką padarė Dievas’.
24Lo, the people will rise up as a lioness, and lift himself up as a lion. He shall not lie down until he have eaten the prey and drunk the blood of the slain.
24Tai tauta, kuri pakils kaip liūtė ir atsistos kaip liūtas, neatsiguls, kol nesurys grobio ir neišgers užmuštųjų kraujo”.
25And Balak said to Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.
25Balakas tarė Balaamui: “Tu jų neprakeik, bet ir nelaimink”.
26And Balaam answered and said to Balak, Did I not tell thee, saying, All that Jehovah shall speak, that will I do?
26Balaamas atsakė Balakui: “Argi aš tau nesakiau, kad ką man Viešpats lieps, tą turėsiu daryti!”
27And Balak said to Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I will bring thee to another place; perhaps it will be right in the sight of God that thou curse me them from thence.
27Ir Balakas tarė Balaamui: “Eime, nuvesiu tave į kitą vietą, gal patiks Dievui, kad iš ten juos prakeiktum”.
28And Balak brought Balaam to the top of Peor, which looks over the surface of the waste.
28Balakas užvedė Balaamą į Peoro kalno viršūnę, kuris yra prie dykumos.
29And Balaam said to Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks and seven rams.
29Čia Balaamas sakė Balakui: “Pastatydink man čia septynis aukurus ir paruošk tiek pat veršių ir avinų aukai”.
30And Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered up a bullock and a ram on each altar.
30Balakas padarė, kaip Balaamas įsakė. Jie aukojo po veršį ir po aviną ant kiekvieno aukuro.
