¹I exhort therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings be made for all men;

¹[Ny amin'ny fivavahana ho an'ny olona rehetra, ary ny fitondran-tena sy ny fitafiana miendrika ny vehivavy Kristiana] Koa mananatra voalohany indrindra aho mba hatao izay fangatahana, fivavahana, fifonana, fisaorana, ho an'ny olona rehetra,

²for kings and all that are in dignity, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all piety and gravity;

²ho an'ny mpanjaka mbamin'izay rehetra manana fahefana, mba hiainantsika miadana sy mandry fahizay amin'ny toe-panahy araka an'Andriamanitra sy ny fahamaotinana rehetra.

³for this is good and acceptable before our Saviour God,

³Izany no tsara ka ankasitrahana eo imason'Andriamanitra, Mpamonjy antsika,

⁴who desires that all men should be saved and come to [the] knowledge of [the] truth.

⁴Izay tia ny olona rehetra hovonjena ka ho tonga amin'ny fahalalana ny marina.

⁵For God is one, and [the] mediator of God and men one, [the] man Christ Jesus,

⁵Fa iray no Andriamanitra, ary iray no Mpanalalana amin'Andriamanitra sy ny olona, dia Kristy Jesosy, Izay olona,

⁶who gave himself a ransom for all, the testimony [to be rendered] in its own times;

⁶sady nanolotra ny tenany ho avotra hisolo ny olona rehetra, dia zavatra ho fitory amin'izao androny izao.

⁷to which *I* have been appointed a herald and apostle, (I speak [the] truth, I do not lie,) a teacher of [the] nations in faith and truth.

⁷Mba hanao izany no nanendrena ahy ho mpitory sy Apostoly (milaza ny marina aho, fa tsy mandainga), ho mpampianatra ny jentilisa amin'ny finoana sy ny fahamarinana.

⁸I will therefore that the men pray in every place, lifting up pious hands, without wrath or reasoning.

⁸Koa tiako ny lehilahy hivavaka eny tontolo eny manandra-tanana masina, tsy amin'ny fahatezerana na amin'ny fifandirana.

⁹In like manner also that the women in decent deportment and dress adorn themselves with modesty and discretion, not with plaited [hair] and gold, or pearls, or costly clothing,

⁹Ary toy izany koa ny vehivavy, hiravaka amin'ny fitafiana mahamendrika mbamin'ny fahamaotinana sy ny fahononan-tena, fa tsy amin'ny volo mirandrana sy ny volamena, na vato soa, na fitafiana saro-bidy, [ Gr. perila]

¹⁰but, what becomes women making profession of the fear of God, by good works.

¹⁰fa amin'ny asa tsara, araka izay mahamendrika ny vehivavy manaiky ny fivavahana amin'Andriamanitra.

¹¹Let a woman learn in quietness in all subjection;

¹¹Aoka ny vehivavy hianatra mangingina ka hanaiky tsara.

¹²but I do not suffer a woman to teach nor to exercise authority over man, but to be in quietness;

¹²Fa ny vehivavy tsy avelako hampianatra na hanapaka ny lehilahy, fa hangina ihany.

¹³for Adam was formed first, then Eve:

¹³Fa Adama no natao voalohany, vao Eva.

¹⁴and Adam was not deceived; but the woman, having been deceived, was in transgression.

¹⁴Ary tsy Adama no voafitaka, fa ny vehivavy no voafitaka, ka dia tonga mpanota.Nefa hovonjena ihany izy amin'ny fiterahan-jaza, raha maharitra amin'ny finoana sy ny fitiavana ary ny fahamasinana mbamin'ny fahononan-tena.

¹⁵But she shall be preserved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and love and holiness with discretion.

¹⁵Nefa hovonjena ihany izy amin'ny fiterahan-jaza, raha maharitra amin'ny finoana sy ny fitiavana ary ny fahamasinana mbamin'ny fahononan-tena.
