1Set the trumpet to thy mouth. [He cometh] as an eagle against the house of Jehovah, because they have transgressed my covenant, and rebelled against my law.
1[Ny loza hanjo ny Isiraely noho ny nivadihany] Ataovy eo am-bavanao ny anjomara! Fa hisy toy ny voromahery hipaoka ny tranon'i Jehovah, satria efa nivadika ny fanekeko sy nandika ny lalàko ireo.[Heb. lanilaninao]
2They shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee; [we], Israel.
2Izaho dia hitarainany hoe: Andriamanitro ô, izahay Isiraely mahalala Anao.
3Israel hath cast off good: the enemy shall pursue him.
3Ataon'ny Isiraely ho zavatra maharikoriko ny soa; Ny fahavalo no hanenjika azy.
4They have set up kings, but not by me; they have made princes, and I knew it not; of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
4Ireny dia nanangana mpanjaka nefa tsy avy tamiko; Nifidy mpanapaka izy, nefa tsy fantatro; Ny volafotsiny sy ny volamenany no nataony sampiny mba hamongorana azy.
5Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast [thee] off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will they be incapable of purity?
5Maharikoriko ilay ombilahy kelinao, ry Samaria; Mirehitra aminareo ny fahatezerako; Mandra-pahoviana no tsy ho tohanareo ny fahadiovana?[Na: Ataony ho zava-maharikoriko][Heb. aminy][Heb. tohany]
6For from Israel is this also: -- a workman made it, and it is no God: for the calf of Samaria shall be [broken in] pieces.
6Fa avy tamin'ny Isiraely koa izany; Ny mpiasa no nanao azy, ka dia tsy Andriamanitra izy, fa ho torotoro ilay ombilahy kelin'i Samaria.
7For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk; should it sprout, it would yield no meal; if so be it yield, strangers shall swallow it up.
7Fa rivotra no nafafiny, ary tadio no hojinjany; Tsy misy vary mitsangana, ny salohiny tsy hisy ventiny; Ary raha tàhiny hisy aza, dia ny olona hafa firenena no hihinana azy.
8Israel is swallowed up: now are they become among the nations as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.
8Voatelina Isiraely; Ankehitriny dia efa tonga tahaka ny fanaka tsy mahafinaritra izy any amin'ny jentilisa.
9For they are gone up [to] Assyria [as] a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.
9Fa niakatra ho any Asyria izy Toy ny borikidia mandeha irery; Efraima dia nanangy ireo lehilahiny [Heb. fitiavany]
10Although they hire among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall begin to be straitened under the burden of the king of princes.
10Ary na dia nanangy tany amin'ny jentilisa aza izy, dia hovoriko ankehitriny; Ary hihavitsy izy noho ny entan'ny mpanjakan'ireo mpanapaka.
11Because Ephraim hath multiplied altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.
11Fa Efraima nanao alitara maro hanotana, eny, efa nahazo alitara hanotana izy.
12I have prescribed unto him the manifold things of my law: they are counted [as] a strange thing.
12Na dia soratako ho azy ny teny betsaka amin'ny lalàko aza, dia ataony ho toy ny zavatra tsy izy izany.
13They sacrifice flesh [for] the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; Jehovah hath no delight in them. Now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.

14For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.
