¹Verily, verily, I say to you, He that enters not in by the door to the fold of the sheep, but mounts up elsewhere, *he* is a thief and a robber;

¹Lazaiko aminareo marina dia marina tokoa fa izay tsy miditra amin'ny vavahady ho amin'ny valan'ondry, fa mananika ny fefy, dia mpangalatra sy jiolahy.

²but he that enters in by the door is [the] shepherd of the sheep.

³To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.

³Ary izy no vohan'ny mpiandry vavahady; ary ny ondry mihaino ny feony; ary izay ondriny tokoa dia antsoiny amin'ny anarany avy ka entiny mivoaka.

⁴When he has put forth all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice.

⁴Ary rehefa mamoaka ireo rehetra ireo izy, dia mialoha azy; ary ny ondriny manaraka azy, satria mahalala ny feony ireo.

⁵But they will not follow a stranger, but will flee from him, because they know not the voice of strangers.

⁵Ary ny vahiny tsy harahiny, fa handosirany, satria tsy fantany ny feon'ny vahiny.

⁶This allegory spoke Jesus to them, but they did not know what it was [of] which he spoke to them.

⁶Izany fanoharana izany no nolazain'i Jesosy taminy, nefa tsy azony izay zavatra nolazainy taminy.

⁷Jesus therefore said again to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.

⁷Dia hoy indray Jesosy taminy: Lazaiko aminareo marina dia marina tokoa: Izaho no vavahadin'ondry.

⁸All whoever came before me are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not hear them.

⁸Mpangalatra sy jiolahy izay rehetra tonga talohako; fa tsy nihaino azy ny ondry.

⁹I am the door: if any one enter in by me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and shall go out and shall find pasture.

⁹Izaho no vavahady; raha Izaho no hidiran'ny olona, dia hovonjena izy ka hiditra sy hivoaka sady hahazo hanina.

¹⁰The thief comes not but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I am come that they might have life, and might have [it] abundantly.

¹⁰Ny mpangalatra tsy avy raha tsy hangalatra sy hamono ary handringana; Izaho avy mba hananany fiainana, sady hananany be dia be.

¹¹I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep:

¹¹Izaho no Mpiandry Tsara; ny Mpiandry Tsara manolotra ny ainy hamonjy ny ondry.

¹²but he who serves for wages, and who is not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf seizes them and scatters the sheep.

¹²Ary ny mpikarama, satria tsy mpiandry na tompon'ny ondry izy, koa raha mahita ny amboadia avy, dia mandao ny ondry ka mandositra, ary ny amboadia misambotra ny ondry ka mampihahaka azy; [lopa]

¹³Now he who serves for wages flees because he serves for wages, and is not himself concerned about the sheep.

¹³mandositra izy, satria mpikarama ka tsy mitandrina ny ondry.

¹⁴I am the good shepherd; and I know those that are mine, and am known of those that are mine,

¹⁴Izaho no Mpiandry Tsara; ary fantatro ny Ahy, sady fantany Aho,

¹⁵as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.

¹⁵dia tahaka ny ahafantaran'ny Ray Ahy sy ny ahafantarako ny Ray; ary Izaho manolotra ny aiko hamonjy ny ondry.

¹⁶And I have other sheep which are not of this fold: those also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one flock, one shepherd.

¹⁶Manana ondry hafa izay tsy amin'ity vala ity Aho; ary ireny koa dia tsy maintsy ho entiko ka hihaino ny feoko; ary ho tonga andiany iray izy, sady iray ihany ny Mpiandry.

¹⁷On this account the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it again.

¹⁷Ary izany no itiavan'ny Raiko Ahy, satria Izaho manolotra ny aiko mba handraisako azy indray.

¹⁸No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have authority to lay it down and I have authority to take it again. I have received this commandment of my Father.

¹⁸Tsy misy manaisotra ny aiko amiko, fa ny tenako ihany no manolotra azy. Manana fahefana hanolotra azy Aho, ary manana fahefana haka azy indray. Izany didy izany dia azoko tamin'ny Raiko.

¹⁹There was a division again among the Jews on account of these words;

¹⁹Ary nisy fisarahana indray tao amin'ny Jiosy noho izany teny izany.

²⁰but many of them said, He has a demon and raves; why do ye hear him?

²⁰Ary maro tamin'ireo no nanao hoe: Manana demonia Izy ka efa very saina; nahoana no mihaino Azy ianareo?

²¹Others said, These sayings are not [those] of one that is possessed by a demon. Can a demon open blind people's eyes?

²¹Hoy kosa ny sasany: Tsy mba tenin'ny demoniaka izany; moa ny demonia va mahay mampahiratra ny mason'ny jamba?

²²Now the feast of the dedication was celebrating at Jerusalem, and it was winter.

²²Ary tonga ny andro firavoravoana tany Jerosalema, dia ilay atao hoe Fitokanana, ary efa ririnina ny andro.

²³And Jesus walked in the temple in the porch of Solomon.

²⁴The Jews therefore surrounded him, and said to him, Until when dost thou hold our soul in suspense? If thou art the Christ, say [so] to us openly.

²⁴Dia nitangoronan'ny Jiosy Izy ka nanontaniany hoe: Ambara-pahoviana no hampisalasalanao anay? Raha Hianao no Kristy, dia lazao marimarina aminay.

²⁵Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye do not believe. The works which I do in my Father's name, these bear witness concerning me:

²⁵Jesosy namaly azy hoe: Efa nilaza taminareo ihany Aho, nefa tsy mino ianareo; ny asa izay ataoko amin'ny anaran'ny Raiko no manambara Ahy.

²⁶but ye do not believe, for ye are not of my sheep, as I told you.

²⁶Kanefa ianareo tsy mino, satria tsy mba isan'ny ondriko.

²⁷My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me;

²⁷Ny ondriko mihaino ny feoko, ary Izaho mahalala azy, ary izy manaraka Ahy,

²⁸and I give them life eternal; and they shall never perish, and no one shall seize them out of my hand.

²⁸ary Izaho manome azy fiainana mandrakizay, ka tsy ho very izy mandrakizay, ary tsy hisy handrombaka azy amin'ny tanako.

²⁹My Father who has given [them] to me is greater than all, and no one can seize out of the hand of my Father.

²⁹Ny Raiko Izay nanome Ahy dia lehibe noho izy rehetra; ary tsy misy mahay mandrombaka amin'ny tanan'ny Ray.

³⁰I and the Father are one.

³⁰Izaho sy ny Ray dia iray ihany.

³¹The Jews therefore again took stones that they might stone him.

³¹Dia naka vato indray ny Jiosy hitoraka Azy.

³²Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewn you of my Father; for which work of them do ye stone me?

³²Jesosy namaly azy hoe: Maro ny asa tsara nasehoko taminareo avy tamin'ny Ray; koa ny asa manao ahoana amin'ireny moa no itorahanareo vato Ahy?

³³The Jews answered him, For a good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy, and because thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

³³Ny Jiosy namaly Azy hoe: Tsy asa tsara no itorahanay vato Anao, fa fitenenan-dratsy, satria olona ihany Hianao, nefa manao ny tenanao ho Andriamanitra. [Gr. blasfemia, izahao Mat. 9,3]

³⁴Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

³⁴Jesosy namaly azy hoe: Tsy voasoratra ao amin'ny lalànareo va hoe: Hoy Izaho: Andriamanitra ianareo? (Sal. 82. 6).

³⁵If he called *them* gods to whom the word of God came (and the scripture cannot be broken),

³⁵Raha ireny izay nanaovana izany tenin'Andriamanitra izany no natao hoe andriamanitra (ary ny Soratra Masina tsy azo foanana),

³⁶do ye say of him whom the Father has sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest, because I said, I am Son of God?

³⁶moa Izay nohasinin'ny Ray ka nirahiny ho amin'izao tontolo izao va no ataonareo hoe: Miteny ratsy Hianao, satria hoy Izaho: Zanak'Andriamanitra Aho?

³⁷If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not;

³⁷Raha tsy manao ny asan'ny Raiko Aho, dia aza mino Ahy.

³⁸but if I do, even if ye believe not me, believe the works, that ye may know [and believe] that the Father is in me and I in him.

³⁸Fa raha manao ihany kosa Aho, na dia tsy mino Ahy aza ianareo, dia minoa ny asa, mba ho fantatrareo sy hekenareo fa ny Ray no ato amiko, ary Izaho ao amin'ny Ray.

³⁹They sought therefore again to take him; and he went away from out of their hand

³⁹Dia nitady hisambotra Azy indray ny Jiosy; fa nandositra azy Izy. [Gr. Ny tànany]

⁴⁰and departed again beyond the Jordan to the place where John was baptising at the first: and he abode there.

⁴⁰Dia lasa nankany an-dafin'i Jordana indray Jesosy, ho any amin'ilay tany nanaovan'i Jaona batisa voalohany, ka nitoetra tany Izy.

⁴¹And many came to him, and said, John did no sign; but all things which John said of this [man] were true.

⁴¹Ary maro no nankeo aminy ka nanao hoe: Jaona tsy mba nanao famantarana, nefa izay rehetra nolazainy ny amin'ity Lehilahy ity dia marina avokoa.Ary maro no nino Azy teo.

⁴²And many believed on him there.
