¹And Jehovah spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan of Jericho, saying,

¹[Ny hanomezana tanàna ho an'ny Levita] Ary Jehovah niteny tamin'i Mosesy teo Arbota-moaba, amoron'i Jordana tandrifin'i Jeriko, ka nanao hoe:

²Command the children of Israel, that of the inheritance of their possession they give unto the Levites cities to dwell in; and a suburb for the cities round about them shall ye give unto the Levites.

²Mandidia ny Zanak'Isiraely mba hanome tanàna ao amin'ny zara-taniny avy honenan'ny Levita; ary homenareo tany manodidina ny tanàna koa izy.

³And the cities shall they have to dwell in, and their suburbs shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.

³Koa ny tanàna dia honenany; ary ny tany dia ho an'ny biby fiompiny sy ny fananany mbamin'ny bibiny rehetra.

⁴And the suburbs of the cities that ye shall give unto the Levites shall be from the walls of the city outward, a thousand cubits round about.

⁴Ary ny tany manodidina ny tanàna izay homenareo ny Levita dia izao: Hatramin'ny màndan'ny tanàna ka hatramin'ny faritry ny taniny dia arivo hakiho amin'ny lafiny efatra avy.

⁵And ye shall measure, without the city, the east side two thousand cubits, and the south side two thousand cubits, and the west side two thousand cubits, and the north side two thousand cubits, and the city shall be in the midst: they shall have this as suburbs of the cities.

⁵Dia handrefy roa arivo hakiho eo ivelan'ny tanàna ianareo amin'ny lafiny atsinanana, ary roa arivo hakiho amin'ny lafiny atsimo, ary roa arivo hakiho amin'ny lafiny andrefana, ary roa arivo hakiho amin'ny lafiny avaratra, ary ny tanàna dia ho eo afovoany; izany no ho taniny manodidina ny tanàna.

⁶And [among] the cities that ye shall give unto the Levites [shall be] the six cities of refuge, which ye shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may flee thither, -- and besides them ye shall give forty-two cities:

⁶Ary izao no tanàna izay homenareo ny Levita: dia tanàna enina, fandosirana, izay homenareo handosiran'izay nahafaty olona, sy tanàna roa amby efa-polo koa.

⁷all the cities that ye shall give to the Levites shall be forty-eight cities, they and their suburbs.

⁷Koa ny tanàna rehetra izay homenareo ny Levita dia valo amby efa-polo mbamin'ny tany manodidina azy.

⁸And the cities which ye shall give shall be of the possession of the children of Israel: from them that have much ye shall take much, and from them that have little ye shall take little; each one according to his inheritance which he will inherit shall give of his cities to the Levites.

⁸Ary ny amin'ny tanàna izay homenareo avy amin'ny zara-tanin'ny firenen'ny Zanak'Isiraely, dia izay be no hanalanareo be, ary izay kely no hanalanareo kely: samy hanome tanàna ho an'ny Levita izy rehetra araka ny zara-taniny avy.

⁹And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

⁹[Ny hifidianana tanàna handosiran'izay nahafaty olona tsy nahy] Ary Jehovah niteny tamin'i Mosesy ka nanao hoe:

¹⁰Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

¹⁰Mitenena amin'ny Zanak'Isiraely hoe: Rehefa tafita an'i Jordana ianareo ka tonga any amin'ny tany Kanana,

¹¹then ye shall appoint for yourselves cities: cities of refuge shall they be for you; that a manslayer may flee thither, who without intent smiteth a person mortally.

¹¹dia hifidy tanàna ianareo, ho tanàna fandosirana ho anareo, mba handosiran'izay nahafaty olona tsy nahy.

¹²And ye shall have these cities for refuge from the avenger; that the manslayer die not, until he have stood before the assembly in judgment.

¹²Dia ho fandosirana ho anareo mba tsy ho azon'ny mpamaly rà izany tanàna izany, mba tsy ho faty izay nahafaty olona mandra-pisehony hotsaraina eo anatrehan'ny fiangonana.

¹³And the cities that ye shall give shall be six cities of refuge for you.

¹³Ary ireo tanàna homenareo ireo dia ho tanàna fandosirana enina ho anareo.

¹⁴Three cities shall ye give on this side of the Jordan, and three cities shall ye give in the land of Canaan; they shall be cities of refuge.

¹⁴Ny tanàna telo dia homenareo etỳ an-dafin'i Jordana etỳ, ary ny tanàna telo kosa homenareo ao amin'ny tany Kanana; ho tanàna fandosirana ireo.

¹⁵For the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them shall these six cities be a refuge, that one who smiteth a person mortally without intent may flee thither.

¹⁵Ireo tanàna enina ireo dia ho fandosirana ho an'ny Zanak'Isiraely sy ny vahiny ary ny mpitoetra ao aminy, mba handosiran'izay rehetra nahafaty olona tsy nahy.

¹⁶And if he have smitten him with an instrument of iron, so that he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall certainly be put to death.

¹⁶Kanefa raha misy mamely vy olona ka mahafaty, dia nahafaty olona izy; hatao maty tokoa izay nahafaty olona.

¹⁷And if he have smitten him with a stone from the hand, wherewith one may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall certainly be put to death.

¹⁷Ary raha misy mamely vato olona ka mahafaty, dia nahafaty olona izy; hatao maty tokoa izay nahafaty olona.

¹⁸Or if he have smitten him with an instrument of wood, in the hand, wherewith one may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall certainly be put to death;

¹⁸Ary raha misy mamely hazo olona ka mahafaty, dia nahafaty olona izy; hatao maty tokoa izay nahafaty olona.

¹⁹the avenger of blood, he shall put the murderer to death; when he meeteth him, he shall put him to death.

¹⁹Ny mpamaly rà no mahazo mamono azy; raha mihaona aminy izy, dia mahazo mamono azy.

²⁰And if he thrust at him out of hatred, or hurl at him intentionally, so that he die,

²⁰Ary raha misy mamely olona noho ny lolom-po, na mitoraka olona amin'ny fanotrehana, ka mahafaty,

²¹or from enmity smite him with his hand, so that he die, he that smote him shall certainly be put to death; he is a murderer: the avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death, when he meeteth him. --

²¹na mamely amin'ny tànany noho ny fandrafiana ka mahafaty, dia hatao maty tokoa ilay namely; nahafaty olona izy; ny mpamaly rà no mahazo mamono azy, raha mihaona aminy izy.

²²But if he have thrust at him suddenly without enmity, or have cast upon him anything unintentionally,

²²Fa raha misy mamely olona tsy nahy, ka tsy noho ny fandrafiana, na mitoraka olona na amin'inona na amin'inona, nefa tsy amin'ny fanotrehana,

²³or [have smitten him] with any stone wherewith one may die, without seeing him, and have cast it upon him so that he die, and he was not his enemy, neither sought his harm:

²³na sendra manjera vato ka mahafaty olona, nefa tsy hitany, sady tsy fahavalony izy, na mitady handratra azy,

²⁴then the assembly shall judge between the smiter and the avenger of blood according to these judgments;

²⁴dia hotsarain'ny fiangonana ilay namely sy ny mpamaly rà araka izany lalàna izany.

²⁵and the assembly shall rescue the manslayer out of the hand of the avenger of blood, and the assembly shall restore him to the city of his refuge, whither he had fled; and he shall abide in it until the death of the high-priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.

²⁵Ary hovonjen'ny fiangonana ho afaka amin'ny mpamaly rà ilay nahafaty olona, ka hateriny indray ho ao amin'ny tanàna fandosirana izay nalehany tamin'izy nandositra; ary hitoetra ao izy mandra-pahafatin'ny mpisoronabe izay voahosotra tamin'ny diloilo masina.

²⁶But if the manslayer shall in any way come outside the limits of the city of his refuge whither he hath fled,

²⁶Fa raha mivoaka ho eo ivelan'ny tanàna fandosirana izay nalehany tamin'izy nandositra ilay nahafaty olona

²⁷and the avenger of blood find him outside the limits of his city of refuge, and the avenger of blood kill the manslayer, there shall be no blood-guiltiness upon him;

²⁷ka hitan'ny mpamaly rà eo ivelan'ny tanàna, dia azony vonoina izy; ary tsy hisy valin-drà amin'izany,

²⁸for the manslayer should have remained in the city of his refuge until the death of the high-priest; but after the death of the high-priest he may return into the land of his possession.

²⁸satria tokony ho nitoetra tao an-tanàna fandosirana izy mandra-pahafatin'ny mpisoronabe; fa rehefa maty ny mpisoronabe, dia mahazo mody any amin'ny zara-taniny ihany ilay nahafaty olona.

²⁹And this shall be unto you a statute of right throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

²⁹Ary izany zavatra izany dia ho lalàna hitondrana anareo hatramin'ny taranakareo fara mandimby eny amin'izay rehetra onenanareo.

³⁰Whoever shall smite a person mortally, at the mouth of witnesses shall the murderer be put to death; but one witness shall not testify against a person to cause him to die.

³⁰Ny amin'izay rehetra mahafaty olona, dia hatao maty izay mahafaty, araka ny tenin'ny vavolombelona; nefa raha vavolombelona iray monja, dia tsy ampy hanameloka hahafaty olona izany.

³¹And ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, who is guilty of death, but he shall certainly be put to death.

³¹Ary ianareo tsy handray avotry ny ain'ny nahafaty olona, izay meloka ka tokony ho faty; fa hatao maty tokoa izy.

³²And ye shall take no satisfaction for him that hath fled to the city of his refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.

³²Ary ianareo tsy handray avotra ho an'izay mandositra ho ao an-tanàna fandosirana, mba hodiany indray hitoetra amin'ny taniny, raha mbola tsy maty ny mpisorona.

³³And ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are; for blood, it polluteth the land; and there can be no atonement made for the land, for the blood that hath been shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.

³³Ary aza mametaveta ny tany izay onenanareo, fa ny rà dia fametavetana ny tany; ary ny tany tsy azo anaovana fanavotana ny amin'ny rà izay nalatsaka teo, afa-tsy amin'ny ran'izay nandatsaka azy ihany.Ary aza lotoinareo ny tany onenanareo, izay itoerako; fa Izaho Jehovah mitoetra eo amin'ny Zanak'Isiraely.

³⁴And ye shall not defile the land that ye inhabit, in the midst whereof I dwell; for I am Jehovah who dwell in the midst of the children of Israel.

³⁴Ary aza lotoinareo ny tany onenanareo, izay itoerako; fa Izaho Jehovah mitoetra eo amin'ny Zanak'Isiraely.
