1The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him:
1[Ny amin'ny tokony ho toetry ny mpanjaka] Ny tenin'i Lemoela mpanjaka, dia ny teny mavesa-danja izay nananaran-dreniny azy.[Na: Ny teny ho an'][Na: Lemoela, mpanjakan'i Masa, dia ilay]
2What, my son? and what, O son of my womb? and what, O son of my vows?
2Ahoana, anaka? Ary ahoana, ry zanako naterako? Ary ahoana, ry zanaky ny voadiko?
3Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to them that destroy kings.
3Aza omena ny vehivavy ny herinao, Na ny fombam-piainanao ho an'izay manimba mpanjaka.[Heb. lalanao][Na: izay zavatra]
4It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for rulers [to say], Where is the strong drink?
4Tsy mety amin'ny mpanjaka, ry Lemoela, Eny; tsy mety amin'ny mpanjaka ny misotro divay, Na amin'ny mpanapaka ny ho fatra-paniry toaka;
5-- lest they drink and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the children of affliction.
5Fandrao, raha misotro izy, dia manadino ny lalàna Ka mamily ny fitsarana ny zanaky ny fahoriana.
6Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto the bitter of soul:
6Omeo toaka izay efa ho faty, Eny, divay ho an'izay malahelo azon'ny fangidiam-panahy;
7let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
7Aoka hisotro izy mba hanadinoany ny alahelony, Ary tsy hahatsiarovany ny fahoriany intsony.
8Open thy mouth for the dumb, for the cause of all those that are left desolate.
8Sokafy ny vavanao hisolo ny moana, Hahazoan'ny kamboty ny rariny;
9Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and minister justice to the afflicted and needy.
9Sokafy ny vavanao, ka tsarao marina, Ary omeo rariny ny ory sy ny malahelo.
10Who can find a woman of worth? for her price is far above rubies.
10[Fankalazana ny vehivavy izay sady tsara no mazoto] Iza no mahita vehivavy tsara? Fa ny tombany dia mihoatra lavitra noho ny voahangy. [Na: mahay][Na: perla]
11The heart of her husband confideth in her, and he shall have no lack of spoil.
11Matoky azy ny fon'ny lahy, Ary tsy mitsahatra ny fanambinana azy.
12She doeth him good, and not evil, all the days of her life.
12Soa no ataon-dravehivavy aminy, fa tsy ratsy, Amin'ny andro rehetra iainany.
13She seeketh wool and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
13Mizaha volon'ondry sy rongony izy Ary mazoto miasa amin'ny tànany.
14She is like the merchants' ships: she bringeth her food from afar;
14Toy ny sambon'ny mpandranto izy, Ka avy any amin'ny lavitra no itondrany ny haniny.
15And she riseth while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and the day's work to her maidens.
15Mifoha izy, raha mbola alina, Ka manome hanina ho an'ny ankohonany Sy anjara ho an'ny ankizivaviny.
16She considereth a field, and acquireth it; of the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

17She girdeth her loins with strength, and maketh strong her arms.
17Misikina hery izy, Ary hatanjahiny ny sandriny.
18She perceiveth that her earning is good; her lamp goeth not out by night.
18Hitany fa tsara ny tombom-barony, Ary tsy maty jiro mandritra ny alina izy.
19She putteth her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
19Mandray ny fihazonam-bohavoha izy, Ary ny tànany mihazona ny ampela.
20She stretcheth out her hand to the afflicted, and she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
20Manatsotra ny tànany amin'ny ory izy, Eny, mamelatra ny tànany amin'ny mahantra.
21She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
21Tsy manahy ny oram-panala ho amin'ny ankohonany izy, Fa ny ankohonany rehetra samy voatafy volon'ondry mena avokoa.
22She maketh herself coverlets; her clothing is byssus and purple.
22Manao firakotra ho azy izy; Ny fitafiany dia rongony fotsy madinika sy lamba volomparasy.
23Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
23Ny lahy dia hajaina eo am-bavahady, Raha miara-mipetraka eo amin'ny loholona.
24She maketh body linen and selleth it, and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
24Manao akanjo hariry madinika ravehivavy ka mivarotra izany, Ary fehin-kibo no amidiny amin'ny mpandranto.[Heb. Kananita]
25Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laugheth [at] the coming day.
25Hery sy voninahitra no fitafiany, Ary ny andro ho avy dia ihomehezany.
26She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and upon her tongue is the law of kindness.

27She surveyeth the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

28Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband [also], and he praiseth her:

29Many daughters have done worthily, but thou excellest them all.

30Gracefulness is deceitful and beauty is vain; a woman [that] feareth Jehovah, she shall be praised.

31Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.
