¹After these things I saw another angel descending out of the heaven, having great authority: and the earth was lightened with his glory.

²And he cried with a strong voice, saying, Great Babylon has fallen, has fallen, and has become the habitation of demons, and a hold of every unclean spirit, and a hold of every unclean and hated bird;

²Ary niantso tamin'ny feo mahery izy ka nanao hoe: Rava! rava Babylona lehibe! ka tonga fonenan'ny demonia sy fieren'ny fanahy maloto rehetra ary akanin'ny vorona rehetra izay maloto sy ankahalaina. [ Gr. tranomaizina]

³because all the nations have drunk of the wine of the fury of her fornication; and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have been enriched through the might of her luxury.

³Fa tamin'ny divain'ny fahatezerana noho ny fijangajangany no nahalavoan'ny firenena rehetra, ary ny mpanjakan'ny tany nijangajanga taminy, ary ny mpandranto amin'ny tany tonga mpanankarena noho ny hafatratry ny nitiavan'io ny zava-mahafinaritra ny tena. [ Na: (nisotrohan')]

⁴And I heard another voice out of the heaven saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye have not fellowship in her sins, and that ye do not receive of her plagues:

⁴Ary nahare feo iray koa avy tany an-danitra aho nanao hoe: Mialà aminy ianareo, ry oloko, mba tsy hiombonanareo ota aminy, ary mba tsy hisy hahazo anareo ny loza manjo azy.

⁵for her sins have been heaped on one another up to the heaven, and God has remembered her unrighteousnesses.

⁵Fa ny fahotany efa nitehika tamin'ny lanitra, ary Andriamanitra efa nahatsiaro ny ratsy nataony.

⁶Recompense her even as she has recompensed; and double [to her] double, according to her works. In the cup which she has mixed, mix to her double.

⁶Mamalia azy araka izay nataony, ka omeo azy indroa heny toy ny nataony izy; ny kapoaka izay nofenoiny, dia fenoy indroa heny ho azy. [ Gr. noharoharoiny] [ Gr. haroharoy]

⁷So much as she has glorified herself and lived luxuriously, so much torment and grief give to her. Because she says in her heart, I sit a queen, and I am not a widow; and I shall in no wise see grief:

⁷Toraka itsy niderany tena sy nivelomany tamin'ny zava-mahafinaritra ny tena, dia omeo fanaintainana sy alahelo toraka izany koa izy, satria hoy izy anakampo: Mipetraka ho mpanjakavavy aho, fa tsy mpitondratena, ary tsy mba hahita alahelo mihitsy aho;

⁸for this reason in one day shall her plagues come, death and grief and famine, and she shall be burnt with fire; for strong [is the] Lord God who has judged her.

⁸koa noho izany dia ho tonga indray andro monja izao loza hanjo azy izao, dia fahafatesana sy fisaonana ary mosary, ary ho levon'ny afo izy; fa mahery ny Tompo Andriamanitra, Izay nitsara azy.

⁹And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication, and lived luxuriously with her, shall weep and wail over her, when they see the smoke of her burning,

⁹Ary ny mpanjakan'ny tany, izay nijangajanga taminy sy niara-nanaram-po taminy tamin'ny zava-mahafinaritra ny tena, dia hiteha-tratra sy hitomany ary, raha mahita ny setroky ny fandoroana azy;

¹⁰standing afar off, through fear of her torment, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! for in one hour thy judgment is come.

¹⁰eny, hijanona eny lavitra eny izy noho ny fahatahorana ny fanaintainany ka hanao hoe: Indrisy! Indrisy! Babylona, izay tanàna lehibe! ry ilay tanàna mafy! fa tamin'ny ora izay monja dia tonga ny fitsarana anao.

¹¹And the merchants of the earth weep and grieve over her, because no one buys their lading any more;

¹¹Ary ny mpandranto amin'ny tany dia hitomany sy hisaona azy; fa tsy hisy mpividy intsony ny entany:

¹²lading of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and pearl, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet dye, and all thyine wood, and every article in ivory, and every article in most precious wood, and in brass, and in iron, and in marble,

¹²dia entana volamena sy volafotsy sy vato soa sy perila sy rongony fotsy madinika sy lamba volomparasy sy landy sy jaky sy hazo mani-pofona, sy ny fanaka ivory rehetra mbamin'ny fanaka rehetra amin'ny hazo saro-bidy indrindra sy varahina sy vy ary vato sanga,

¹³and cinnamon, and amomum, and incense, and unguent, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and cattle, and sheep, and of horses, and of chariots, and of bodies, and souls of men.

¹³sy havozomamy sy zavatra mani-pofona sy ditin-kazo sy menaka manitra sy ditin-kazo mani-pofona, sy divay sy diloilo sy lafarina tsara toto sy vary tritika sy omby sy ondry sy soavaly sy kalesy ary tena sy ain'olona. [ Gr. amoma] [ lebona: izahao Eks. xxx. 34]

¹⁴And the ripe fruits which were the lust of thy soul have departed from thee, and all fair and splendid things have perished from thee, and they shall not find them any more at all.

¹⁵The merchants of these things, who had been enriched through her, shall stand afar off through fear of her torment, weeping and grieving,

¹⁶saying, Woe, woe, the great city, which [was] clothed with fine linen and purple and scarlet, and had ornaments of gold and precious stones and pearls!

¹⁷for in one hour so great riches has been made desolate. And every steersman, and every one who sailed to any place, and sailors, and all who exercise their calling on the sea, stood afar off,

¹⁸and cried, seeing the smoke of her burning, saying, What [city] is like to the great city?

¹⁸ary raha nahita ny setroky ny fandoroana ary, dia niantso nanao hoe: Aiza intsony re no misy tahaka izany tanàna lehibe izany?

¹⁹and cast dust upon their heads, and cried, weeping and grieving, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, in which all that had ships in the sea were enriched through her costliness! for in one hour she has been made desolate.

¹⁹Ary nanopy vovoka hiraraka tamin'ny lohany izy, dia niantso sady nitomany sy nisaona ka nanao hoe: Indrisy! indrisy! ilay tanàna lehibe, izay nampanan-karena izay rehetra manan-tsambo eny amin'ny ranomasina noho ny zava-tsaro-bidy tao aminy; fa tamin'ny ora iray monja no nahafoana izany.

²⁰Rejoice over her, heaven, and [ye] saints and apostles and prophets; for God has judged your judgment upon her.

²⁰Mifalia noho izay zavatra nanjo azy ianao. ry lanitra, sy ianareo olona masina sy ianareo Apostoly, ary ianareo mpaminany; fa Andriamanitra efa nitsara azy ka namaly azy noho ny taminareo.

²¹And a strong angel took up a stone, as a great millstone, and cast [it] into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall Babylon the great city be cast down, and shall be found no more at all;

²¹Ary nisy anjely mahery anankiray nibata vato tahaka ny vato lehibe fikosoham-bary, dia nanipy izany tany an-dranomasina ka nanao hoe: Hatsipy mafy toy izany no ho fandrava an'i Babylona, ilay tanàna lehibe, ka tsy ho hita intsony izy.

²²and voice of harp-singers and musicians and flute-players and trumpeters shall not be heard any more at all in thee, and no artificer of any art shall be found any more at all in thee, and voice of millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee,

²³and light of lamp shall shine no more at all in thee, and voice of bridegroom and bride shall be heard no more at all in thee; for thy merchants were the great ones of the earth; for by thy sorcery have all the nations been deceived.

²⁴And in her was found [the] blood of prophets and saints, and of all the slain upon the earth.
