1And Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandment which I command you this day.
1¶ Na ka whakahau a Mohi ratou ko nga kaumatua o Iharaira i te iwi, ka mea, Puritia nga whakahau katoa e whakahau nei ahau ki a koutou i tenei ra.
2And it shall be on the day when ye pass over the Jordan unto the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaster them with plaster:
3and thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou goest over that thou mayest enter into the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, as Jehovah the God of thy fathers hath promised thee.
4And it shall be when ye go over the Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, as I command you this day, on mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaster them with plaster.
5And there shalt thou build an altar to Jehovah thy God, an altar of stones; thou shalt not lift up an iron [tool] upon them;
6of whole stones shalt thou build the altar of Jehovah thy God; and thou shalt offer up burnt-offerings thereon to Jehovah thy God.
7And thou shalt sacrifice peace-offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before Jehovah thy God.
8And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.
8Ka tuhituhi hoki i nga kupu o tenei ture ki nga kohatu, kia marama tonu.
9And Moses and the priests, the Levites, spoke to all Israel, saying, Be silent and hearken, Israel! this day thou art become the people of Jehovah thy God.
9I korero ano a Mohi ratou ko nga tohunga, ko nga Riwaiti, ki a Iharaira, i mea, Noho puku mai, a whakarongo, e Iharaira; no tenei ra i meinga ai koe hei iwi mo Ihowa, mo tou Atua.
10And thou shalt hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.
10Na me whakarongo koe ki te reo o Ihowa, o tou Atua, me mahi hoki i ana whakahau, me ana tikanga e whakahaua atu nei e ahau ki a koe i tenei ra.
11And Moses gave commandment to the people the same day, saying,
11¶ I whakahau hoki a Mohi i te iwi i taua rangi ano, i mea,
12These shall stand to bless the people upon mount Gerizim, when ye have gone over the Jordan: Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin.
12Ko enei e tu ki runga ki Maunga Keritimi hei manaaki i te iwi, ua whiti atu koutou i Horano; ko Himiona, ko Riwai, ko Hura, ko Ihakara, ratou ko Hohepa, ko Pineamine:
13And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
13Ko enei e tu ki runga ki Maunga Epara hei kanga; ko Reupena, ko Kara, ko Ahera, ko Hepurona, ko Rana, ko Napatari.
14And the Levites shall declare and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice:
