1The elders which [are] among you I exhort, who [am their] fellow-elder and witness of the sufferings of the Christ, who also [am] partaker of the glory about to be revealed:
1നിങ്ങളിലുള്ള മൂപ്പന്മാരെ ഒരു കൂട്ടുമൂപ്പനും ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ കഷ്ടാനുഭവത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷിയും വെളിപ്പെടുവാനുള്ള തേജസ്സിന്നു കൂട്ടാളിയുമായ ഞാന്‍ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു
2shepherd the flock of God which [is] among you, exercising oversight, not by necessity, but willingly; not for base gain, but readily;
2നിങ്ങളുടെ വിചാരണയിലുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആട്ടിന്‍ കൂട്ടത്തെ മേയിച്ചുകൊള്‍വിന്‍ . നിര്‍ബ്ബന്ധത്താലല്ല, ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഹിതമാംവണ്ണം മന:പൂര്‍വ്വമായും ദുരാഗ്രഹത്തോടെയല്ല,
3not as lording it over your possessions, but being models for the flock.
3ഉന്മേഷത്തോടെയും ഇടവകകളുടെമേല്‍ കര്‍ത്തൃത്വം നടത്തുന്നവരായിട്ടല്ല. ആട്ടിന്‍ കൂട്ടത്തിന്നു മാതൃകകളായിത്തീര്‍ന്നുകൊണ്ടും അദ്ധ്യക്ഷത ചെയ്‍വിന്‍ .
4And when the chief shepherd is manifested ye shall receive the unfading crown of glory.
4എന്നാല്‍ ഇടയശ്രേഷ്ഠന്‍ പ്രത്യക്ഷനാകുമ്പോള്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ തേജസ്സിന്റെ വാടാത്ത കിരീടം പ്രാപിക്കും.
5Likewise [ye] younger, be subject to [the] elder, and all of you bind on humility towards one another; for God sets himself against [the] proud, but to [the] humble gives grace.
5അവ്വണ്ണം ഇളയവരേ, മൂപ്പന്മാര്‍ക്കും കീഴടങ്ങുവിന്‍ . എല്ലാവരും തമ്മില്‍ തമ്മില്‍ കീഴടങ്ങി താഴ്മ ധരിച്ചുകൊള്‍വിന്‍ ദൈവം നിഗളികളോടു എതിര്‍ത്തുനിലക്കുന്നു; താഴ്മയുള്ളവര്‍ക്കോ കൃപ നലകുന്നു;
6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in [the due] time;
6അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്‍ തക്കസമയത്തു നിങ്ങളെ ഉയര്‍ത്തുവാന്‍ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ബലമുള്ള കൈക്കീഴു താണിരിപ്പിന്‍ .
7having cast all your care upon him, for he cares about you.
7അവന്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കായി കരുതുന്നതാകയാല്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ സകല ചിന്താകുലവും അവന്റെ മേല്‍ ഇട്ടുകൊള്‍വിന്‍ .
8Be vigilant, watch. Your adversary [the] devil as a roaring lion walks about seeking whom he may devour.
8നിര്‍മ്മദരായിരിപ്പിന്‍ ; ഉണര്‍ന്നിരിപ്പിന്‍ ; നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രതിയോഗിയായ പിശാചു അലറുന്ന സിംഹം എന്നപോലെ ആരെ വിഴുങ്ങേണ്ടു എന്നു തിരിഞ്ഞു ചുറ്റിനടക്കുന്നു.
9Whom resist, stedfast in faith, knowing that the selfsame sufferings are accomplished in your brotherhood which [is] in [the] world.
9ലോകത്തില്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കുള്ള സഹോദരവര്‍ഗ്ഗത്തിന്നു ആവക കഷ്ടപ്പാടുകള്‍ തന്നേ പൂര്‍ത്തിയായി വരുന്നു എന്നറിഞ്ഞു വിശ്വാസത്തില്‍ സ്ഥിരമുള്ളവരായി അവനോടു എതിര്‍ത്തു നില്പിന്‍ .
10But the God of all grace who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, when ye have suffered for a little while, himself shall make perfect, stablish, strengthen, ground:
10എന്നാല്‍ അല്പകാലത്തേക്കു കഷ്ടം സഹിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങളെ ക്രിസ്തുവില്‍ തന്റെ നിത്യതേജസ്സിന്നായി വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സര്‍വ്വകൃപാലുവായ ദൈവം തന്നേ യഥാസ്ഥാനപ്പെടുത്തി ഉറപ്പിച്ചു ശക്തീകരിക്കും.
11to him [be] the glory and the might for the ages of the ages. Amen.
11ബലം എന്നെന്നേക്കും അവന്നുള്ളതു. ആമേന്‍ .
12By Silvanus, the faithful brother, as I suppose, I have written to you briefly; exhorting and testifying that this is [the] true grace of God in which ye stand.
12നിങ്ങളെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചും നിങ്ങള്‍ ഈ നിലക്കുന്നതു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സത്യകൃപയില്‍ ആകുന്നു എന്നു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു വിശ്വസ്തസഹോദരന്‍ എന്നു നിരൂപിക്കുന്ന സില്വാനൊസ് മുഖാന്തരം ചുരുക്കത്തില്‍ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
13She that is elected with [you] in Babylon salutes you, and Marcus my son.
13നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹവൃതയായ ബാബിലോനിലെ സഭയും എനിക്കു മകനായ മര്‍ക്കൊസും നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു വന്ദനം ചൊല്ലുന്നു.
14Salute one another with a kiss of love. Peace be with you all who [are] in Christ.
14സ്നേഹചുബനത്താല്‍ തമ്മില്‍ വന്ദനം ചെയ്‍വിന്‍ . ക്രിസ്തുവിലുള്ള നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു എല്ലാവര്‍ക്കും സമാധാനം ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ.
