1Rebuke not an elder sharply, but exhort [him] as a father, younger [men] as brethren,
1മൂത്തവനെ ഭത്സിക്കാതെ അപ്പനെപ്പോലയും ഇളയവരെ സഹോദരന്മാരെപ്പോലെയും
2elder women as mothers, younger women as sisters, with all purity.
2മൂത്ത സ്ത്രീകളെ അമ്മമാരെപ്പോലെയും ഇളയ സ്ത്രീകളെ പൂര്‍ണ്ണനിര്‍മ്മലതയോടെ സഹോദരികളെപ്പോലെയും പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്ക.
3Honour widows who are really widows;
3സാക്ഷാല്‍ വിധവമാരായിരിക്കുന്ന വിധവമാരെ മാനിക്ക.
4but if any widow have children or descendants, let them learn first to be pious as regards their own house, and to render a return on their side to [their] parents; for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
4വല്ല വിധവേക്കും പുത്രപൌത്രന്മാര്‍ ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ അവര്‍ മുമ്പെ സ്വന്തകുടുംബത്തില്‍ ഭക്തി കാണിച്ചു അമ്മയപ്പന്മാര്‍ക്കും പ്രത്യുപകാരം ചെയ്‍വാന്‍ പഠിക്കട്ടെ; ഇതു ദൈവസന്നിധിയില്‍ പ്രസാദകരമാകുന്നു.
5Now she who [is] a widow indeed, and is left alone, has put [her] hope in God, and continues in supplications and prayers night and day.
5സാക്ഷാല്‍ വിധവയും ഏകാകിയുമായവള്‍ ദൈവത്തില്‍ ആശവെച്ചു രാപ്പകല്‍ യാചനയിലും പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥനയിലും ഉറ്റുപാര്‍ക്കുംന്നു.
6But she that lives in habits of self-indulgence is dead [while] living.
6കാമുകിയായവളോ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കയില്‍ തന്നേ ചത്തവള്‍.
7And these things enjoin, that they may be irreproachable.
7അവര്‍ നിരപവാദ്യമാരായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ഇതു ആജ്ഞാപിക്ക.
8But if any one does not provide for his own, and specially for those of [his] house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than the unbeliever.
8തനിക്കുള്ളവര്‍ക്കും പ്രത്യേകം സ്വന്ത കുടുംബക്കാര്‍ക്കും വേണ്ടി കരുതാത്തവന്‍ വിശ്വാസം തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു അവിശ്വാസിയെക്കാള്‍ അധമനായിരിക്കുന്നു.
9Let a widow be put upon the list, being of not less than sixty years, [having been] wife of one man,
9സല്‍പ്രവൃത്തികളാല്‍ ശ്രുതിപ്പെട്ടു ഏകഭര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായിരുന്നു അറുപതു വയസ്സിന്നു താഴെയല്ലാത്ത വിധവ
10borne witness to in good works, if she have brought up children, if she have exercised hospitality, if she have washed saints' feet, if she have imparted relief to the distressed, if she have diligently followed every good work.
10മക്കളെ വളര്‍ത്തുകയോ അതിഥികളെ കഴുകുകയോ ഞെരുക്കമുള്ളവര്‍ക്കും മുട്ടുതീര്‍ക്കുംകയോ സര്‍വ്വസല്‍പ്രവൃത്തിയും ചെയ്തു പോരുകയോ ചെയ്തു എങ്കില്‍ അവളെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കാം.
11But younger widows decline; for when they grow wanton against Christ, they desire to marry,
11ഇളയ വിധവമാരെ ഒഴിക്ക; അവര്‍ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്നു വിരോധമായി പുളെച്ചു മദിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ വിവാഹം ചെയ്‍വാന്‍ ഇച്ഛിക്കും.
12being guilty, because they have cast off their first faith.
12ആദ്യ വിശ്വാസം തള്ളുകയാല്‍ അവര്‍ക്കും ശിക്ഷാവിധി ഉണ്ടു.
13And, at the same time, they learn also [to be] idle, going about to people's houses; and not only idle, but also gossipers and meddlers, speaking things not becoming.
13അത്രയുമല്ല അവര്‍ വീടുതോറും നടന്നു മിനക്കെടുവാനും ശീലിക്കും; മിനക്കെടുക മാത്രമല്ല വായാടികളും പരകാര്യത്തില്‍ ഇടപെടുന്നവരുമായി അരുതാത്തതു സംസാരിക്കും.
14I will therefore that the younger marry, bear children, rule the house, give no occasion to the adversary in respect of reproach.
14ആകയാല്‍ ഇളയവര്‍ വിവാഹം ചെയ്കയും പുത്രസമ്പത്തുണ്ടാക്കുകയും ഭവനം രക്ഷിക്കയും വിരോധിക്കു അപവാദത്തിന്നു അവസരം ഒന്നും കൊടുക്കാതിരിക്കയും വേണം എന്നു ഞാന്‍ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു.
15For already some have turned aside after Satan.
15ഇപ്പോള്‍ തന്നേ ചിലര്‍ സാത്താന്റെ പിന്നാലെ പോയല്ലോ.
16If any believing man or woman have widows, let them impart relief to them, and let not the assembly be charged, that it may impart relief to those [that are] widows indeed.
16ഒരു വിശ്വാസിനിക്കു വിധവമാര്‍ ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ അവള്‍ തന്നേ അവര്‍ക്കും മുട്ടുതീര്‍ക്കട്ടെ; സഭെക്കു ഭാരം വരരുതു; സാക്ഷാല്‍ വിധവമാരായവര്‍ക്കും മുട്ടുതീര്‍പ്പാനുണ്ടല്ലോ.
17Let the elders who take the lead [among the saints] well be esteemed worthy of double honour, specially those labouring in word and teaching;
17നന്നായി ഭരിക്കുന്ന മൂപ്പന്മാരെ, പ്രത്യേകം വചനത്തിലും ഉപദേശത്തിലും അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നവരെ തന്നേ, ഇരട്ടി മാനത്തിന്നു യോഗ്യരായി എണ്ണുക.
18for the scripture says, Thou shalt not muzzle an ox that treadeth out corn, and, The workman [is] worthy of his hire.
18മെതിക്കുന്ന കാളെക്കു മുഖക്കൊട്ട കെട്ടരുതു എന്നു തിരുവെഴുത്തു പറയുന്നു; വേലക്കാരന്‍ തന്റെ കൂലിക്കു യോഗ്യന്‍ എന്നും ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.
19Against an elder receive not an accusation unless where there are two or three witnesses.
19രണ്ടു മൂന്നു സാക്ഷികള്‍ മുഖേനയല്ലാതെ ഒരു മൂപ്പന്റെ നേരെ അന്യായം എടുക്കരുതു.
20Those that sin convict before all, that the rest also may have fear.
20പാപം ചെയ്യുന്നവരെ ശേഷമുള്ളവര്‍ക്കും ഭയത്തിന്നായി എല്ലാവരും കേള്‍ക്കെ ശാസിക്ക.
21I testify before God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels, that thou keep these things without prejudice, doing nothing by favour.
21നീ പക്ഷമായി ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാതെകണ്ടു സിദ്ധാന്തം കൂടാതെ ഇവ പ്രമാണിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണം എന്നു ഞാന്‍ ദൈവത്തെയും ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിനെയും ശ്രേഷ്ഠ ദൂതന്മാരെയും സാക്ഷിയാക്കി നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നു.
22Lay hands quickly on no man, nor partake in others' sins. Keep thyself pure.
22യാതൊരുത്തന്റെ മേലും വേഗത്തില്‍ കൈവെക്കരുതു; അന്യന്മാരുടെ പാപങ്ങളില്‍ ഔഹരിക്കാരനാകയുമരുതു. നിന്നെത്തന്നെ നിര്‍മ്മലനായി കാത്തുകൊള്‍ക.
23Drink no longer only water, but use a little wine on account of thy stomach and thy frequent illnesses.
23മേലാല്‍ വെള്ളം മാത്രം കുടിക്കാതെ നിന്റെ അജീര്‍ണ്ണതയും കൂടെക്കൂടെയുള്ള ക്ഷീണതയും നിമിത്തം അല്പം വീഞ്ഞും സേവിച്ചുകൊള്‍ക.
24Of some men the sins are manifest beforehand, going before to judgment, and some also they follow after.
24ചില മനുഷ്യരുടെ പാപങ്ങള്‍ വിസ്താരത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ തന്നേ വെളിവായിരിക്കുന്നു; ചിലരുടെ പാപങ്ങളോ ക്രമേണയത്രേ.
25In like manner good works also are manifest beforehand, and those that are otherwise cannot be hid.
25സല്‍പ്രവൃത്തികളും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ വെളിവാകുന്നു; വെളിവാകാത്തവയും മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കയില്ല.
