1And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
1യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു
2Hallow unto me every firstborn, whatever breaketh open the womb among the children of Israel, of man and of cattle: it is mine.
2യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ ഇടയില് മനുഷ്യരിലും മൃഗങ്ങളിലും കടിഞ്ഞൂലായി പിറക്കുന്നതിന്നെ ഒക്കെയും എനിക്കായി ശുദ്ധീകരിക്ക; അതു എനിക്കുള്ളതാകുന്നു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു;
3And Moses said to the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for with a powerful hand hath Jehovah brought you out from this; and nothing leavened shall be eaten.
3അപ്പോള് മോശെ ജനത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞതുനിങ്ങള് അടിമവീടായ മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോന്ന ഈ ദിവസത്തെ ഔര്ത്തു കൊള്വിന് ; യഹോവ ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ അവിടെനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു; അതുകൊണ്ടു പുളിപ്പുള്ള അപ്പം തിന്നരുതു.
4Ye come out to-day, in the month Abib.
4ആബീബ് മാസം ഈ തിയ്യതി നിങ്ങള് പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോന്നു.
5And it shall be when Jehovah hath brought thee into the land of the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Hivite and the Jebusite, which he swore to thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.
5എന്നാല് കനാന്യര്, ഹിത്യര്, അമോര്യ്യര്, ഹിവ്യര്, യെബൂസ്യര് എന്നിവരുടെ ദേശമായി യഹോവ നിനക്കു തരുമെന്നു നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തതും പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്നതുമായ ദേശത്തേക്കു നിന്നെ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നശേഷം നീ ഈ മാസത്തില് ഈ കര്മ്മം ആചരിക്കേണം.
6Seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread; and in the seventh day is a feast to Jehovah.
6ഏഴു ദിവസം നീ പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പം തിന്നേണം; ഏഴാം ദിവസം യഹോവേക്കു ഒരു ഉത്സവം ആയിരിക്കേണം.
7Unleavened bread shall be eaten the seven days; and leavened bread shall not be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy borders.
7ഏഴു ദിവസവും പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പം തിന്നേണം; നിന്റെ പക്കല് പുളിപ്പുള്ള അപ്പം കാണരുതു; നിന്റെ അരികത്തെങ്ങും പുളിച്ചമാവും കാണരുതു.
8And thou shalt inform thy son in that day, saying, It is because of what Jehovah did to me when I came out of Egypt.
8ഞാന് മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോള് യഹോവ എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി ചെയ്ത കാര്യം നിമിത്തം ആകുന്നു ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്നു നീ ആ ദിവസത്തില് നിന്റെ മകനോടു അറിയിക്കേണം.
9And it shall be for a sign to thee on thy hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the law of Jehovah may be in thy mouth; for with a powerful hand hath Jehovah brought thee out of Egypt.
9യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം നിന്റെ വായില് ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇതു നിനക്കു നിന്റെ കയ്യിന്മേല് അടയാളമായും നിന്റെ കണ്ണുകളുടെ നടുവില് ജ്ഞാപകലക്ഷ്യമായും ഇരിക്കെണം. ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടല്ലോ യഹോവ നിന്നെ മിസ്രയീമില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചതു.
10And thou shalt keep this ordinance at its set time from year to year.
10അതു കൊണ്ടു നീ ആണ്ടുതോറും നിശ്ചയിക്കപ്പെട്ട സമയത്തു ഈ ചട്ടം ആചരിക്കേണം.
11And it shall be when Jehovah hath brought thee into the land of the Canaanites, as he hath sworn to thee and to thy fathers, and hath given it thee,
11യഹോവ നിന്നോടും നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടും സത്യം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ നിന്നെ കനാന്യരുടെ ദേശത്തു കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു അതു നിനക്കു തരുമ്പോള്
12that thou shalt offer unto Jehovah all that breaketh open the womb, and every firstling that cometh of cattle which is thine: the males [shall be] Jehovah's.
12കടിഞ്ഞൂലിനെ ഒക്കെയും, നിനക്കുള്ള മൃഗങ്ങളുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂല്പിറവിയെ ഒക്കെയും നീ യഹോവെക്കായി വേര്തിരിക്കേണം; ആണൊക്കെയും യഹോവകൂള്ളതാകുന്നു.
13And every firstling of an ass shalt thou ransom with a lamb; and if thou do not ransom it, thou shalt break its neck; and every firstborn of a man among thy sons shalt thou ransom.
13എന്നാല് കഴുതയുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂലിനെ ഒക്കെയും ആട്ടിന് കുട്ടിയെക്കൊണ്ടു വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളേണം; അതിനെ വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളുന്നില്ലെങ്കില് അതിന്റെ കഴുത്തു ഒടിച്ചുകളയേണം. നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരില് ആദ്യജാതനെ ഒക്കെയും നീ വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളേണം.
14And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say to him, With a powerful hand Jehovah brought us out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
14എന്നാല് ഇതു എന്തു എന്നു നാളെ നിന്റെ മകന് നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുമ്പോള്യഹോവ ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടു അടിമവീടായ മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു;
15And it came to pass, when Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, that Jehovah slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of men and the firstborn of cattle: therefore I sacrifice to Jehovah all that breaketh open the womb -- being males; and every firstborn of my children I ransom.
15ഫറവോന് കഠിനപ്പെട്ടു ഞങ്ങളെ വിട്ടയക്കാതിരുന്നപ്പോള് യഹോവ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു മനുഷ്യന്റെ കടിഞ്ഞൂല്മുതല് മൃഗത്തിന്റെ കടിഞ്ഞൂല്വരെയുള്ള കടിഞ്ഞൂല്പിറവിയെ ഒക്കെയും കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു. അതുകൊണ്ടു കടിഞ്ഞൂലായ ആണിനെ ഒക്കെയും ഞാന് യഹോവേക്കു യാഗം അര്പ്പിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാല് എന്റെ മക്കളില് കടിഞ്ഞൂലിനെ ഒക്കെയും ഞാന് വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളുന്നു.
16And it shall be for a sign on thy hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes, for with a powerful hand Jehovah brought us forth out of Egypt.
16അതു നിന്റെ കയ്യിന്മേല് അടയാളമായും നിന്റെ കണ്ണുകളുടെ നടുവില് നെറ്റിപ്പട്ടമായും ഇരിക്കേണം. യഹോവ ഞങ്ങളെ ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടു മിസ്രയീമില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു എന്നു നീ അവനോടു പറയേണം.
17And it came to pass, when Pharaoh let the people go, that God did not lead them the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, That the people may not repent when they see conflict, and return to Egypt.
17ഫറവോന് ജനത്തെ വിട്ടയച്ച ശേഷം ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ ദേശത്തു കൂടിയുള്ള വഴി അടുത്തതു എന്നു വരികിലും ജനം യുദ്ധം കാണുമ്പോള് പക്ഷേ അനുതപിച്ചു മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുമെന്നുവെച്ചു ദൈവം അവരെ അതിലെ കൊണ്ടുപോയില്ല;
18And God led the people about, the way of the wilderness of the Red Sea; and the children of Israel went arrayed out of the land of Egypt.
18ചെങ്കടലരികെയുള്ള മരുഭൂമിയില്കൂടി ദൈവം ജനത്തെ ചുറ്റിനടത്തി. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി പുറപ്പെട്ടു.
19And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him; for he had made the children of Israel swear an oath, saying, God will be sure to visit you; then ye shall carry my bones with you hence.
19മോശെ യോസേഫിന്റെ അസ്ഥികളും എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു പോന്നു. ദൈവം നിങ്ങളെ സന്ദര്ശിക്കും നിശ്ചയം; അപ്പോള് എന്റെ അസ്ഥികളും നിങ്ങള് ഇവിടെനിന്നു എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുപോകേണമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവന് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളെക്കൊണ്ടു ഉറപ്പായി സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ചിരുന്നു.
20And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, at the end of the wilderness.
20അവര് സുക്കോത്തില് നിന്നു യാത്രപുറപ്പെട്ടു മരുഭൂമിക്കരികെ ഏഥാമില് പാളയമിറങ്ങി.
21And Jehovah went before their face by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them [in] the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; so that they could go day and night.
21അവര് പകലും രാവും യാത്രചെയ്വാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവര്ക്കും വഴികാണിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു പകല് മേഘസ്തംഭത്തിലും അവര്ക്കും വെളിച്ചം കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു രാത്രി അഗ്നിസ്തംഭത്തിലും യഹോവ അവര്ക്കും മുമ്പായി പൊയ്ക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
22The pillar of the cloud did not remove [from] before the people by day, nor the pillar of fire by night.
22പകല് മേഘസ്തംഭവും രാത്രി അഗ്നിസ്തംഭവും ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നിന്നു മാറിയതുമില്ല.
