1And a man of the house of Levi went and took a daughter of Levi.
1എന്നാല് ലേവികുടുംബത്തിലെ ഒരു പുരുഷന് പോയി ഒരു ലേവ്യകന്യകയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
2And the woman conceived, and bore a son. And she saw him that he was fair, and hid him three months.
2അവള് ഗര്ഭം ധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. അവന് സൌന്ദര്യമുള്ളവന് എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു അവനെ മൂന്നു മാസം ഒളിച്ചുവെച്ചു.
3And when she could no longer hide him, she took for him an ark of reeds, and plastered it with resin and with pitch, and put the child in it, and laid [it] in the sedge on the bank of the river.
3അവനെ പിന്നെ ഒളിച്ചുവെപ്പാന് കഴിയാതെ ആയപ്പോള് അവള് ഒരു ഞാങ്ങണപ്പെട്ടകം വാങ്ങി, അതിന്നു പശയും കീലും തേച്ചു, പൈതലിനെ അതില് കിടത്തി, നദിയുടെ അരികില് ഞാങ്ങണയുടെ ഇടയില് വെച്ചു.
4And his sister stood afar off to see what would happen to him.
4അവന്നു എന്തു ഭവിക്കുമെന്നു അറിവാന് അവന്റെ പെങ്ങള് ദൂരത്തു നിന്നു.
5And the daughter of Pharaoh went down to bathe in the river; and her maids went along by the river's side. And she saw the ark in the midst of the sedge, and sent her handmaid and fetched it.
5അപ്പോള് ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി നദിയില് കുളിപ്പാന് വന്നു; അവളുടെ ദാസിമാര് നദീതീരത്തുകൂടി നടന്നു; അവള് ഞാങ്ങണയുടെ ഇടയില് പെട്ടകം കണ്ടപ്പോള് അതിനെ എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന് ദാസിയെ അയച്ചു.
6And she opened [it], and saw the child, and behold, the boy wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is [one] of the Hebrews' children.
6അവള് അതു തുറന്നാറെ പൈതലിനെ കണ്ടുകുട്ടി ഇതാ, കരയുന്നു. അവള്ക്കു അതിനോടു അലിവുതോന്നിഇതു എബ്രായരുടെ പൈതങ്ങളില് ഒന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
7And his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call thee a wet-nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?
7അവന്റെ പെങ്ങള് ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രിയോടുഈ പൈതലിന്നു മുലകൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരു എബ്രായസ്ത്രീയെ ഞാന് ചെന്നു വിളിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവരേണമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
8And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the damsel went and called the child's mother.
8ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി അവളോടുചെന്നു കൊണ്ടു വരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. കന്യക ചെന്നു പൈതലിന്റെ അമ്മയെ വിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
9And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Take this child away and nurse it for me, and I will give [thee] thy wages. And the woman took the child and nursed it.
9ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി അവളോടുനീ ഈ പൈതലിനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി മുലകൊടുത്തു വളര്ത്തേണം; ഞാന് നിനക്കു ശമ്പളം തരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സ്ത്രി പൈതലിനെ എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി മുലകൊടുത്തു വളര്ത്തി.
10And when the child was grown, she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses, and said, Because I drew him out of the water.
10പൈതല് വളര്ന്നശേഷം അവള് അവനെ ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രിയുടെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടു പോയി, അവന് അവള്ക്കു മകനായിഞാന് അവനെ വെള്ളത്തില് നിന്നു വലിച്ചെടുത്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവള് അവന്നു മോശെ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.
11And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out to his brethren and looked on their burdens; and he saw an Egyptian smiting a Hebrew, one of his brethren.
11ആ കാലത്തു മോശെ മുതിര്ന്നശേഷം അവന് തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു അവരുടെ ഭാരമുള്ള വേല നോക്കി, തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരില് ഒരു എബ്രായനെ ഒരു മിസ്രയീമ്യന് അടിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.
12And he turned this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he smote the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.
12അവന് അങ്ങോട്ടും ഇങ്ങോട്ടും നോക്കീട്ടു ആരും ഇല്ലെന്നു കണ്ടപ്പോള് മിസ്രയീമ്യനെ അടിച്ചു കൊന്നു മണലില് മറവുചെയ്തു.
13And he went out on the second day, and behold, two Hebrew men were quarrelling; and he said to him that was in the wrong, Why art thou smiting thy neighbour?
13പിറ്റേ ദിവസവും അവന് ചെന്നപ്പോള് രണ്ടു എബ്രായ പുരുഷന്മാര് തമ്മില് ശണ്ഠയിടുന്നതു കണ്ടു, അന്യായം ചെയ്തവനോടുനിന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനെ അടിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
14And he said, Who made thee ruler and judge over us? dost thou intend to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? Then Moses feared, and said, Surely the matter is known.
14അതിന്നു അവന് നിന്നെ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു പ്രഭുവും ന്യായാധിപതിയും ആക്കിയവന് ആര്? മിസ്രയീമ്യനെ കൊന്നതുപോലെ എന്നെയും കൊല്ലുവാന് ഭാവിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അപ്പോള് കാര്യം പ്രസിദ്ധമായിപ്പോയല്ലോ എന്നു മോശെ പറഞ്ഞു പേടിച്ചു.
15And Pharaoh heard of this matter, and sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from before Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian. And he sat by the well.
15ഫറവോന് ഈ കാര്യം കേട്ടാറെ മോശെയെ കൊല്ലുവാന് അന്വേഷിച്ചു. മോശെ ഫറവോന്റെ സന്നിധിയില്നിന്നു ഔടിപ്പോയി, മിദ്യാന് ദേശത്തു ചെന്നു പാര്ത്തു; അവന് ഒരു കിണറ്റിന്നരികെ ഇരുന്നു.
16And the priest of Midian had seven daughters; and they came and drew [water], and filled the troughs, to water their father's flock.
16മിദ്യാനിലെ പുരോഹിതന്നു ഏഴു പുത്രിമാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവര് വന്നു അപ്പന്റെ ആടുകള്ക്കു കുടിപ്പാന് വെള്ളം കോരി തൊട്ടികള് നിറെച്ചു.
17And the shepherds came and drove them away; but Moses rose and helped them, and watered their flock.
17എന്നാല് ഇടയന്മാര് വന്നു അവരെ ആട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞുഅപ്പോള് മോശെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരെ സഹായിച്ചു അവരുടെ ആടുകളെ കുടിപ്പിച്ചു.
18And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, Why are ye come so soon to-day?
18അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പനായ റെഗൂവേലിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നപ്പോള്നിങ്ങള് ഇന്നു ഇത്രവേഗം വന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു അവന് ചോദിച്ചു.
19And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew [water] abundantly for us, and watered the flock.
19ഒരു മിസ്രയീമ്യന് ഇടയന്മാരുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ വിടുവിച്ചു, ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു വെള്ളം കോരിത്തന്നു ആടുകളെ കുടിപ്പിച്ചു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.
20And he said to his daughters, And where is he? why then have ye left the man behind? Call him, that he may eat bread.
20അവന് തന്റെ പുത്രിമാരോടുഅവന് എവിടെ? നിങ്ങള് അവനെ വിട്ടേച്ചു പോന്നതെന്തു? ഭക്ഷണം കഴിപ്പാന് അവനെ വിളിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
21And Moses consented to remain with the man; and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.
21മോശെക്കു അവനോടുകൂടെ പാര്പ്പാന് സമ്മതമായി; അവന് മോശെക്കു തന്റെ മകള് സിപ്പോറയെ കൊടുത്തു.
22And she bore a son, and he called his name Gershom; for he said, I have been a sojourner in a foreign land.
22അവള് ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചുഞാന് അന്യദേശത്തു പരദേശി ആയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു ഗേര്ശോം എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.
23And it came to pass during those many days, that the king of Egypt died. And the children of Israel sighed because of the bondage, and cried; and their cry came up to God because of the bondage;
23ഏറെ നാള് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു മിസ്രയീംരാജാവു മരിച്ചു. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് അടിമവേല നിമിത്തം നെടുവീര്പ്പിട്ടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അടിമവേല ഹേതുവായുള്ള നിലവിള ദൈവസന്നിധിയില് എത്തി.
24and God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob;
24ദൈവം അവരുടെ നിലവിളി കേട്ടു; ദൈവം അബ്രാഹാമിനോടും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടും യാക്കോബിനോടും തനിക്കുള്ള നിയമവും ഔര്ത്തു.
25and God looked upon the children of Israel, and God acknowledged [them].
25ദൈവം യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളെ കടാക്ഷിച്ചു; ദൈവം അറിഞ്ഞു.
