1And Abraham took another wife named Keturah.
1അബ്രാഹാം വേറൊരു ഭാര്യയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവള്ക്കു കെതൂറാ എന്നു പേര്.
2And she bore him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
2അവള് സിമ്രാന് , യൊക്ശാന് , മെദാന് , മിദ്യാന് , യിശ്ബാക്, ശൂവഹ് എന്നിവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.
3And Jokshan begot Sheba and Dedan; and the sons of Dedan were the Asshurim, and the Letushim, and the Leummim.
3യൊക്ശാന് ശെബയെയും ദെദാനെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; ദെദാന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് അശ്ശൂരീം, ലെത്തൂശീം, ലെയുമ്മീം എന്നിവര്.
4And the sons of Midian were Ephah, and Epher, and Enoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were sons of Keturah.
4മിദ്യാന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് ഏഫാ, ഏഫെര്, ഹനോക്, അബീദാ, എല്ദാഗാ എന്നിവര്. ഇവര് എല്ലാവരും കെതൂറയുടെ മക്കള്.
5And Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac.
5എന്നാല് അബ്രാഹാം തനിക്കുള്ളതൊക്കെയും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു കൊടുത്തു.
6And to the sons of the concubines that Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and, while he yet lived, sent them away from Isaac his son, eastward to the east country.
6അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന വെപ്പാട്ടികളുടെ മക്കള്ക്കോ അബ്രാഹാം ദാനങ്ങള് കൊടുത്തു; താന് ജീവനോടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേ അവരെ തന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കല്നിന്നു കിഴക്കോട്ടു കിഴക്കുദേശത്തേക്കു അയച്ചു.
7And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived: a hundred and seventy-five years.
7അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലം നൂറ്റെഴുപത്തഞ്ചു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു.
8And Abraham expired and died in a good old age, old and full [of days]; and was gathered to his peoples.
8അബ്രാഹാം വയോധികനും കാലസമ്പൂര്ണ്ണനുമായി നല്ല വാര്ദ്ധക്യത്തില് പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു മരിച്ചു, തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേര്ന്നു.
9And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which was opposite to Mamre --
9അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ യിസ്ഹാക്കും യിശ്മായേലും കൂടി മമ്രേക്കരികെ സോഹരിന്റെ മകനായ എഫ്രോനെന്ന ഹിത്യന്റെ നിലത്തു മക്പേലാഗുഹയില് അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.
10the field that Abraham had purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.
10അബ്രാഹാം ഹിത്യരോടു വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിയ നിലത്തു തന്നേ; അവിടെ അബ്രാഹാമിനെയും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറയെയും അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.
11And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac. And Isaac dwelt at Beer-lahai-roi.
11അബ്രാഹാം മരിച്ചശേഷം ദൈവം അവന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു; യിസ്ഹാക് ബേര്ലഹയിരോയീക്കരികെ പാര്ത്തു.
12And these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's bondwoman, bore to Abraham.
12സാറയുടെ മിസ്രയീമ്യദാസി ഹാഗാര് അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു പ്രസവിച്ച മകനായ യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ വംശപാരമ്പര്യം അവരുടെ വംശാവലിപ്രകാരം പേരുപേരായി യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ പേരുകള് ആവിതുയിശ്മായേലിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതന് നെബായോത്ത്,
13And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael by their names according to their generations: Nebaioth, the firstborn of Ishmael; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
13കേദാര്, അദ്ബെയേല്, മിബ്ശാം, മിശ്മാ, ദൂമാ,
14and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,
14മശ്ശാ, ഹദാദ്, തേമാ, യെതൂര്, നാഫീശ്, കേദെമാ.
15Hadad and Tema, Jetur, Naphish and Kedmah.
15പന്ത്രണ്ടു പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരായ യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് അവരുടെ ഊരുകളിലും പാളയങ്ങളിലും വംശംവംശമായി ഇവര് ആകുന്നു; അവരുടെ പേരുകള് ഇവ തന്നേ.
16These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, in their hamlets and their encampments -- twelve princes of their peoples.
16യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലം നൂറ്റി മുപ്പത്തേഴു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു; അവന് പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു മരിച്ചു, തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേര്ന്നു.
17And these are the years of the life of Ishmael: a hundred and thirty-seven years; and he expired and died, and was gathered to his peoples.
17ഹവീലാ തുടങ്ങി അശ്ശൂരിലേക്കു പോകുന്ന വഴിയില് മിസ്രയീമിന്നു കിഴക്കുള്ള ശൂര്വരെ അവര് കുടിയിരുന്നു; അവന് തന്റെ സകലസഹോദരന്മാര്ക്കും എതിരെ പാര്ത്തു.
18And they dwelt from Havilah to Shur, which is opposite to Egypt, as one goes towards Assyria. He settled before the face of all his brethren.
18അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ വംശപാരമ്പര്യമാവിതുഅബ്രാഹാം യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.
19And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son. Abraham begot Isaac.
19യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു നാല്പതു വയസ്സായപ്പോള് അവന് പദ്ദന് -അരാമിലുള്ള അരാമ്യനായ ബെഥൂവേലിന്റെ പുത്രിയും അരാമ്യനായ ലാബാന്റെ സഹോദരിയുമായ റിബെക്കയെ ഭാര്യയായി പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
20And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebecca as wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian.
20തന്റെ ഭാര്യ മച്ചിയായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്ഹാക് അവള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി യഹോവയോടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു; യഹോവ അവന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേട്ടു; അവന്റെ ഭാര്യ റിബെക്കാ ഗര്ഭം ധരിച്ചു.
21And Isaac entreated Jehovah for his wife, because she was barren; and Jehovah was entreated of him, and Rebecca his wife conceived.
21അവളുടെ ഉള്ളില് ശിശുക്കള് തമ്മില് തിക്കിയപ്പോള് അവള്ഇങ്ങനെയായാല് ഞാന് എന്തിന്നു ജീവിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു യഹോവയോടു ചോദിപ്പാന് പോയി.
22And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If [it be] so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of Jehovah.
22യഹോവ അവളോടുരണ്ടുജാതികള് നിന്റെ ഗര്ഭത്തില് ഉണ്ടു. രണ്ടു വംശങ്ങള് നിന്റെ ഉദരത്തില്നിന്നു തന്നേ പിരിയും; ഒരു വംശം മറ്റേ വംശത്തിലും ശക്തിപ്പെടും മൂത്തവന് ഇളയവനെ സേവിക്കും. എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
23And Jehovah said to her, Two nations are in thy womb, And two peoples shall be separated from thy bowels; And one people shall be stronger than the other people, And the elder shall serve the younger.
23അവള്ക്കു പ്രസവകാലം തികഞ്ഞപ്പോള് ഇരട്ടപ്പിള്ളകള് അവളുടെ ഗര്ഭത്തില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
24And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
24ഒന്നാമത്തവന് ചുവന്നവനായി പുറത്തുവന്നു, മേല് മുഴുവനും രോമംകൊണ്ടുള്ള വസ്ത്രംപോലെ ഇരുന്നു; അവന്നു ഏശാവ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.
25And the first came out red -- all over like a hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.
25പിന്നെ അവന്റെ സഹോദരന് പുറത്തുവന്നു; അവന്റെ കൈ ഏശാവിന്റെ കുതികാല് പിടിച്ചിരുന്നു; അവന്നു യാക്കോബ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു. അവള് അവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചപ്പോള് യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു അറുപതു വയസ്സു ആയിരുന്നു.
26And after that came his brother out; and his hand took hold of Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob. And Isaac was sixty years old when they were born.
26കുട്ടികള് വളര്ന്നു; ഏശാവ് വേട്ടയില് സമര്ത്ഥനും വനസഞ്ചാരിയും യാക്കോബ് സാധുശീലനും കൂടാരവാസിയും ആയിരുന്നു.
27And the boys grew, and Esau became a man skilled in hunting, a man of the field; and Jacob was a homely man, dwelling in tents.
27ഏശാവിന്റെ വേട്ടയിറച്ചിയില് രുചിപിടിച്ചരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്ഹാക്ക് അവനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു; റിബെക്കയോ യാക്കോബിനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു.
28And Isaac loved Esau, because venison was to his taste; and Rebecca loved Jacob.
28ഒരിക്കല് യാക്കോബ് ഒരു പായസം വെച്ചു; ഏശാവ് വെളിന് പ്രദേശത്തു നിന്നു വന്നു; അവന് നന്നാ ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരുന്നു.
29And Jacob had cooked a dish; and Esau came from the field, and he was faint.
29ആ ചുവന്ന പായസം കുറെ എനിക്കു തരേണം; ഞാന് നന്നാ ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്നു ഏദോം (ചുവന്നവന് ) എന്നു പേരായി.
30And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with the red -- the red thing there, for I am faint. Therefore was his name called Edom.
30നിന്റെ ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം ഇന്നു എനിക്കു വിലക്കുക എന്നു യാക്കോബ് പറഞ്ഞു.
31And Jacob said, Sell me now thy birthright.
31അതിന്നു ഏശാവ്ഞാന് മരിക്കേണ്ടിവരുമല്ലോ; ഈ ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം എനിക്കു എന്തിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
32And Esau said, Behold, I am going to die, and of what use can the birthright be to me?
32ഇന്നു എന്നോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ക എന്നു യാക്കോബ് പറഞ്ഞു. അവന് അവനോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തു; തന്റെ ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം യാക്കോബിന്നു വിറ്റു.
33And Jacob said, Swear unto me now. And he swore unto him, and sold his birthright to Jacob.
33യാക്കോബ് ഏശാവിന്നു അപ്പവും പയറുകൊണ്ടുള്ള പായസവും കൊടുത്തു; അവന് ഭക്ഷിച്ചു പാനം ചെയ്തു, എഴുന്നേറ്റുപോയി; ഇങ്ങനെ ഏശാവ് ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശത്തെ അലക്ഷ്യമാക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു
34And Jacob gave Esau bread and the dish of lentils; and he ate and drank, and rose up and went away. Thus Esau despised the birthright.
