1Put them in mind to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient to rule, to be ready to do every good work,
1വാഴ്ചകള്‍ക്കും അധികാരങ്ങള്‍ക്കും കീഴടങ്ങി അനുസരിപ്പാനും സകലസല്‍പ്രവൃത്തിക്കും ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിപ്പാനും
2to speak evil of no one, not to be contentious, [to be] mild, shewing all meekness towards all men.
2ആരെക്കൊണ്ടും ദൂഷണം പറയാതെയും കലഹിക്കാതെയും ശാന്തന്മാരായി സകലമനുഷ്യരോടും പൂര്‍ണ്ണസൌമ്യത കാണിപ്പാനും അവരെ ഔര്‍മ്മപ്പെടുത്തുക.
3For we were once ourselves also without intelligence, disobedient, wandering in error, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, [and] hating one another.
3മുമ്പെ നാമും ബുദ്ധികെട്ടവരും അനുസരണമില്ലാത്തവരും വഴിതെറ്റി നടക്കുന്നവരും നാനാമോഹങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ഭോഗങ്ങള്‍ക്കും അധീനരും ഈര്‍ഷ്യയിലും അസൂയയിലും കാലം കഴിക്കുന്നവരും ദ്വേഷിതരും അന്യോന്യം പകെക്കുന്നവരും ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.
4But when the kindness and love to man of our Saviour God appeared,
4എന്നാല്‍ നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദയയും മനുഷ്യപ്രീതിയും ഉദിച്ചപ്പോള്‍
5not on the principle of works which [have been done] in righteousness which *we* had done, but according to his own mercy he saved us through [the] washing of regeneration and renewal of [the] Holy Spirit,
5അവന്‍ നമ്മെ നാം ചെയ്ത നീതിപ്രവൃത്തികളാലല്ല, തന്റെ കരുണപ്രകാരമത്രേ രക്ഷിച്ചതു.
6which he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
6നാം അവന്റെ കൃപയാല്‍ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടു പ്രത്യാശപ്രകാരം നിത്യജീവന്റെ അവകാശികളായിത്തീരേണ്ടതിന്നു പുനര്‍ജ്ജനനസ്നാനം കൊണ്ടും
7that, having been justified by *his* grace, we should become heirs according to [the] hope of eternal life.
7നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ യേശു ക്രിസ്തുമൂലം നമ്മുടെമേല്‍ ധാരാളമായി പകര്‍ന്ന പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്റെ നവീകരണംകൊണ്ടും തന്നേ.
8The word [is] faithful, and I desire that thou insist strenuously on these things, that they who have believed God may take care to pay diligent attention to good works. These things are good and profitable to men.
8ഈ വചനം വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യം; ദൈവത്തില്‍ വിശ്വസിച്ചവര്‍ സല്‍പ്രവൃത്തികളില്‍ ഉത്സാഹികളായിരിപ്പാന്‍ കരുതേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ഇതു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു പറയേണം എന്നു ഞാന്‍ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു. ഇതു ശുഭവും മനുഷ്യര്‍ക്കും ഉപകാരവും ആകുന്നു.
9But foolish questions, and genealogies, and strifes, and contentions about the law, shun; for they are unprofitable and vain.
9മൌഢ്യതര്‍ക്കവും വംശാവലികളും കലഹവും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വാദവും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുനില്‍ക്ക. ഇവ നിഷ്പ്രയോജനവും വ്യര്‍ത്ഥവുമല്ലോ.
10An heretical man after a first and second admonition have done with,
10സഭയില്‍ ഭിന്നത വരുത്തുന്ന മനുഷ്യനോടു ഒന്നു രണ്ടു വട്ടം ബുദ്ധി പറഞ്ഞശേഷം അവനെ ഒഴിക്ക;
11knowing that such a one is perverted, and sins, being self-condemned.
11ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവന്‍ വക്രബുദ്ധിയായി പാപം ചെയ്തു തന്നെത്താന്‍ കുറ്റം വിധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിനക്കു അറിയാമല്ലോ.
12When I shall send Artemas to thee, or Tychicus, use diligence to come to me to Nicopolis; for I have decided to winter there.
12ഞാന്‍ അര്‍ത്തെമാസിനെയോ തിഹിക്കൊസിനെയോ അങ്ങോട്ടു അയക്കുമ്പോള്‍ നിക്കൊപ്പൊലിസില്‍ വന്നു എന്നോടു ചേരുവാന്‍ ശ്രമിക്ക. അവിടെ ഞാന്‍ ശീതകാലം കഴിപ്പാന്‍ നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
13Zenas the lawyer and Apollos set forward diligently on their way, that nothing may be lacking to them;
13ന്യായശാസ്ത്രിയായ സേനാസിന്നു അപ്പൊല്ലോസിന്നും ഒരു മുട്ടും വരാതവണ്ണം ഉത്സാഹിച്ചു വഴിയാത്ര അയക്ക.
14and let ours also learn to apply themselves to good works for necessary wants, that they may not be unfruitful.
14നമുക്കുള്ളവരും ഫലമില്ലാത്തവര്‍ ആകാതെ അത്യാവശ്യസംഗതികളില്‍ സല്‍പ്രവൃത്തികള്‍ക്കു മുമ്പരായിരിപ്പാന്‍ പഠിക്കട്ടെ.
15All with me salute thee. Salute those who love us in [the] faith. Grace [be] with you all.
15എന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ളവര്‍ എല്ലാവരും നിനക്കു വന്ദനം ചെല്ലുന്നു. ഞങ്ങളെ വിശ്വാസത്തില്‍ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്കും വന്ദനം ചൊല്ലുക. കൃപ നിങ്ങളോടെല്ലാവരോടുംകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ
