¹When Ephraim spoke, there was trembling; he exalted himself in Israel: but he trespassed through Baal, and he died.

¹ဧဖရိမ်သည် နှုတ်မြွက်သောအခါ သူတပါး ကြောက်လန့်တတ်၏။ သူသည် ဣသရေလအမျိုး၌ မြင့် မြတ်၏။ နောက်တဖန် ဗာလဘုရားအားဖြင့် ပြစ်မှား သောကြောင့် သေ၏။

²And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves.

²ယခုမှာ အထပ်ထပ်ပြစ်မှား၍ ကိုယ်ဥာဏ်ပညာ အားဖြင့် အရည်သွန်းသော ငွေရုပ်တု၊ ဆရာသမား လုပ်တတ်သော ရုပ်တုဆင်းတုများကို ကိုယ့်အဘို့ လုပ်ကြ ၏။ လုပ်ပြီးမှ ယဇ်ပူဇော်သောသူသည် နွားသငယ်ကို နမ်းစေဟု ဆိုတတ်ကြ၏။

³Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff driven with the whirlwind out of the threshing-floor, and as the smoke out of the lattice.

³ထိုကြောင့်၊ သူတို့သည် နံနက်မိုဃ်းတိမ်ကဲ့သို့၎င်း၊ စောစောကွယ်ပျောက်တတ်သော နှင်းကဲ့သို့၎င်း၊ ကောက်နယ်တလင်းမှ လေဘွေတိုက်သွားသော ဖွဲကဲ့သို့ ၎င်း၊ မီးဖိုထဲကထွက်သော မီးခိုးကဲ့သို့၎င်း ဖြစ်ရကြလိမ့် မည်။

⁴Yet I [am] Jehovah thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou hast known no God but me; and there is no saviour besides me.

⁴သို့ရာတွင်၊ ငါထာဝရဘုရားသည် သင့်ကို အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်မှ ကယ်နှုတ်သော သင်၏ဘုရားသခင် ဖြစ်၏။ ငါမှတပါး အခြားသော ဘုရားသခင်ကို သင်မသိ ပြီ။ ငါမှတပါး ကယ်တင်နိုင်သော သခင်မရှိ။

⁵I knew thee in the wilderness, in the land of drought.

⁵အလွန်သွေ့ခြောက်သော အရပ်တည်းဟူသော တော၌ပင် သင့်ကို ငါသိပြီ။ ကျက်စားရာအရပ်၌ ဝပြော စွာ စားရကြ၏။

⁶According to their pasture, they became full; they became full, and their heart was exalted: therefore have they forgotten me.

⁶ဝသောအခါ ဝါကြွားသော စိတ်ရှိ၍ ငါ့ကို မေ့ လျော့ကြ၏။

⁷And I will be unto them as a lion; as a leopard I will lurk for them by the way;

⁷ထိုကြောင့်၊ သူတို့၌ ငါသည် ခြင်္သေ့ကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ် မည်။ လမ်းနားမှာ ချောင်းသော ကျားသစ်ကဲ့သို့ သူတို့ကို ချောင်းမြောင်းမည်။

⁸I will meet them as a bear bereaved of her [whelps], and will rend the covering of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lioness: the beast of the field shall tear them.

⁸သားပျောက်သော ဝံမကဲ့သို့ သူတို့ကို ငါဆီးကြို ၍၊ သူတို့နှလုံး၌ ဖုံးသော အမြှေးကို ဆုတ်ဖဲ့မည်။ ခြင်္သေ့ မင်းကဲ့သို့ တွေ့သောအရပ်၌ပင် ငါကိုက်စားမည်။ တော သားရဲဖြစ်၍ အပိုင်းပိုင်းဆွဲဖြတ်မည်။

⁹It is thy destruction, O Israel, that [thou art] against me, against thy help.

⁹အို ဣသရေလ၊ သင့်ကို ကယ်တင်နိုင်သော အရှင် ငါ့ကို သင်သည် ဆန့်ကျင်ဘက်ပြုသောကြောင့် အကျိုးနည်းရှိ၏။

¹⁰Where then is thy king, that he may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judges of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes? --

¹⁰သင်၏ ရှင်ဘုရင်သည် အဘယ်မှာ ရှိသနည်း။ သင့်နေရာမြို့ရှိသမျှတို့၌ ကယ်တင်ပါစေသော။ သင်၏ တရားသူကြီးတို့သည် အဘယ်မှာ ရှိကြသနည်း။

¹¹I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.

¹¹ရှင်ဘုရင်နှင့် မင်းများကို ပေးပါဟု သင် တောင်းသောကြောင့်၊ ငါအမျက်ထွက်၍ ရှင်ဘုရင်ကို ပေးပြီ။ တဖန်ပြင်းစွာ အမျက်ထွက်၍ ရှင်ဘုရင်ကို ပယ် ရှားပြီ။

¹²The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is laid by in store.

¹²ဧဖရိမ်ပြုသော ဒုစရိုက်ကို ငါထုပ်ထား၍ သူ၏ အပြစ်ကို သိုမှီးပြီ။

¹³The pangs of a woman in travail shall come upon him: he is a son not wise; for at the time of the breaking forth of children, he was not there.

¹³သူသည် သားဘွားသော မိန်းမကဲ့သို့ ဝေဒနာကို ခံရချိန်နီးပြီ။ မိုက်သောအမျိုးသားဖြစ်၏။ သားဘွားရာ ဝမ်းဝ၌ ကြာမြင့်စွာနေပါသည်တကား။

¹⁴I will ransom them from the power of Sheol. I will redeem them from death: where, O death, are thy plagues? where, O Sheol, is thy destruction? Repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.

¹⁴သူတို့ကို မရဏာနိုင်ငံတန်ခိုးမှ ငါကယ်လွှတ် မည်။ သေမင်းလက်မှလည်း ရွေးမည်။ အိုသေမင်း၊ သင့် ကို ကာလနာ စွဲစေမည်။ အိုမရဏာနိုင်ငံ၊ သင်၌ ဖျက်ဆီး သောဘေးကို ရောက်စေမည်။ နောင်တရမည်အကြောင်း ကို ပမာဏမပြု။

¹⁵Though he be fruitful among [his] brethren, an east wind shall come, a wind of Jehovah [that] cometh up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels.

¹⁵မိမိညီအစ်ကိုတို့တွင် အသီးများစွာ သီးတတ် သော်လည်း၊ အရှေ့လေလာလိမ့်မည်။ ထာဝရဘုရား၏ လေသည် တောမှလာ၍ သူ၏စမ်းရေတွင်းကို ခန်းခြောက်စေသဖြင့် ရေပြတ်လိမ့်မည်။ ဘဏ္ဍာတိုက်၌ ရှိသ မျှသော တန်ဆာအကောင်းအမြတ်တို့ကို ရန်သူ လုယူ လိမ့်မည်။

¹⁶Samaria shall bear her guilt; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword; their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.

¹⁶ရှမာရိမြို့သည် မိမိဘုရားသခင်ကို ပုန်ကန်သောကြောင့် ပျက်စီးလိမ့်မည်။ မြို့သားတို့သည် ထားဖြင့် လဲ၍ သေကြလိမ့်မည်။ သူငယ်တို့သည် မြေပေါ်မှာ ဆောင့်ဖွပ်ခြင်းကို၎င်း၊ ကိုယ်ဝန်ဆောင်သောမိန်းမတို့ သည် ဝမ်းခွဲခြင်းကို၎င်း ခံရကြလိမ့်မည်။
