¹And Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,

¹တဖန်တေမန် အမျိုးသားဧလိဖတ်မြွက်ဆိုသည် ကား၊

²Should a wise man answer with windy knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind,

²ပညာရှိသောသူသည် လေနှင့်တူသော အချည်း နှီးစကားကို ပြောသင့်သလော။ မိမိဝမ်းကို အရှေ့လေ နှင့်ပြည့်စေသင့်သလော။

³Reasoning with unprofitable talk, and with speeches which do no good?

³အကျိုးမဲ့သောစကား၊ ကျေးဇူးမပြုနိုင်သော စကားနှင့် ဆွေးနွှေးသင့်သလော။

⁴Yea, thou makest piety of none effect, and restrainest meditation before ùGod.

⁴သင်သည် ဘုရားသခင်ကို ကြောက်ရွံ့ခြင်းအကျင့်၌ အကျိုးမရှိဟု ဆိုလို၏။ ဆိုတောင်းပဌနာပြုရာ ဝတ်ကို ဆီးတားတတ်၏။

⁵For thy mouth uttereth thine iniquity, and thou hast chosen the tongue of the crafty.

⁵သင်သည်ကိုယ်နှုတ်ဖြင့် ကိုယ်အပြစ်ကို ဘော်ပြ၏။ ပရိယာယ်ပြုသော သူ၏စကားကို သုံးတတ်၏။

⁶Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I; and thy lips testify against thee.

⁶ငါသည် သင့်ကိုအပြစ်မတင်၊ သင့်နှုတ်သည် သင့်ကိုအပြစ်တင်၏။ သင့်နှုတ်ခမ်းတို့သည် သင့်တဘက် ၌ သက်သေခံ၏။

⁷Art thou the first man that was born? and wast thou brought forth before the hills?

⁷သင်သည် အဦးဆုံးဘွားသောလူ ဖြစ်သလော။ တောင်များကို မဖန်ဆင်းမှီ သင့်ကိုဖန်ဆင်းသလော။

⁸Hast thou listened in the secret council of +God? And hast thou absorbed wisdom for thyself?

⁸ဘုရားသခင်နှင့် တိတ်ဆိတ်စွာတိုင်ပင်ဘူး သလော။ ပညာကို ကိုယ်၌အကုန်အစင် သိမ်းထားပြီ လော။

⁹What knowest thou that we know not? [what] understandest thou which is not in us?

⁹ငါတို့မသိ၊ သင်သိသောအရာမည်မျှရှိသနည်း။ ငါတို့၌မပါ၊ သင်နားလည်သောအရာမည်မျှရှိသနည်း။

¹⁰Both the greyheaded and the aged are with us, older than thy father.

¹⁰သင့်အဘထက်အသက်ကြီးသောသူ၊ ဆံပင်ဖြူ သောသူတို့သည် ငါတို့တွင်ရှိကြ၏။

¹¹Are the consolations of ùGod too small for thee? and the word gently spoken to thee?

¹¹သင်၌ ဘုရားသခင်ပေးတော်မူသော သက်သာခြင်းအကြောင်း နည်းသလော။ သင်၌ဝှက်ထားသောအမှု တစုံတခုရှိသလော။

¹²Why doth thy heart carry thee away? and why do thine eyes wink?

¹²ကိုယ်အလိုသို့လိုက်၍ အဘယ်ကြောင့် လွှဲသွားသနည်း။ အဘယ်ကြောင့် မျက်စောင်းထိုးသနည်း။

¹³That thou turnest thy spirit against ùGod, and lettest words go out of thy mouth?

¹³သင်၏စိတ်သဘောသည် ဘုရားသခင်နှင့် ဆန့်ကျင်ဘက်ဖြစ်၍၊ နှုတ်နှင့်ပြစ်မှားပေ၏။

¹⁴What is man, that he should be pure? and he that is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

¹⁴လူသည်အဘယ်သို့သော သူဖြစ်၍ သန့်ရှင်းနိုင်သနည်း။ မိန်းမဘွားသောသူသည် အဘယ်သို့သော သူဖြစ်၍ ဖြောင့်မတ်နိုင်သနည်း။

¹⁵Behold, he putteth no trust in his holy ones, and the heavens are not pure in his sight:

¹⁵ဘုရားသခင်သည် မိမိသန့်ရှင်းသူတို့ကိုပင် ယုံတော်မမူ။ ကောင်းကင်ဘုံသော်လည်းရှေ့တော်၌ မစင်ကြယ်။

¹⁶How much less the abominable and corrupt, -- man, that drinketh unrighteousness like water!

¹⁶သို့ဖြစ်လျှင်၊ ရေကိုသောက်သကဲ့သို့ ဒုစရိုက်အပြစ်ကို သောက်လျက်၊ ဆိုးညစ်ရွံ့ရှာဘွယ်သော လူသတ္တဝါ၌ အဘယ်ဆိုဘွယ် ရှိသနည်း။

¹⁷I will shew thee, listen to me; and what I have seen I will declare;

¹⁷ငါ့စကားကို နားထောင်လော့။ တပါးအမျိုးသားနှင့် မရောနှော၊ ကိုယ်အမျိုးတမျိုးတည်းလျှင် မြေကို ပိုင်သော ပညာရှိတို့သည်၊ ဘိုးဘေးလက်ထက်မှစ၍ မထိမ်မဝှက်၊ ပြောဘူးသော အရာ၊ ငါ့ကိုယ်တိုင်မြင်သော အရာကို ငါပြသမည်။

¹⁸Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hidden;

²⁰ဆိုးသောသူသည် တသက်လုံး ဒုက္ခဆင်းရဲကို ခံရ၏။ ညှဉ်းဆဲဘတ်သော သူသည် မိမိအသက်အပိုင်း အခြားကို မသိရ။

¹⁹Unto whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them.

²¹သူသည် ကြောက်မက်ဘွယ်သောအသံကို ကြားလျက်နေရ၏။ စည်းစိမ်ကို ခံစားစဉ်တွင်၊ ဖျက်ဆီး သော သူသည် လာတတ်၏။

²⁰All his days the wicked man is tormented, and numbered years are allotted to the violent.

²²မှောင်မိုက်ထဲမှာ ဘေးလွတ်မည်ဟု မြော်လင့် စရာမရှိ။ ထားသည့်သူ့ကို ချောင်းမြောင်းလျက်ရှိ၏။

²¹The sound of terrors is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer cometh upon him.

²³စားစရာကို ရှာ၍လှည့်လည်ရ၏။ မိမိအဘို့ မှောင်မိုက်ကာလသည် အသင့်ရှိသည်ကို သိ၏။

²²He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is singled out for the sword.

²⁴ဆင်းရဲခြင်းဒုက္ခနှင့် နာကြဉ်းခြင်းဝေဒနာတို့သည် ထိုသူကို ချောက်တတ်၏။ စစ်တိုက်ခြင်းငှါ အသင့် နေသော ရှင်ဘုရင်ကဲ့သို့ သူ့ကို နိုင်တတ်၏။

²³He wandereth abroad for bread, -- where may it be? He knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.

²⁵အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ထိုသူသည် ဘုရားသခင်၏ အာဏာတော်ကို ဆန်လျက်၊ အနန္တတန်ခိုးရှင်တဘက် ကနေ၍ ကိုယ်ကိုခိုင်ခံ့စေ၏။

²⁴Distress and anguish make him afraid; they prevail against him, as a king ready for the battle.

²⁶လည်ပင်းကို ဆန့်လျက်၊ ထူသောဒိုင်းပုနှင့် ဆီးကာလျက်၊ ဘုရားသခင်ကို တိုက်အံ့သောငှါ ပြေး၏။

²⁵For he hath stretched out his hand against ùGod, and strengthened himself against the Almighty:

²⁷မိမိမျက်နှာကို ဆူဖြိုးခြင်းနှင့် ဖုံးအုပ်၍၊ ဝမ်းပျဉ်း အသားသည်လည်း ဆူဖြိုးလျက် အတွန့်တွန့်နေ၏။

²⁶He runneth against him, with [outstretched] neck, with the thick bosses of his bucklers;

²⁸သို့သော်လည်း လူဆိတ်ညံသောမြို့၊ အဘယ်သူ မျှမနေ။ လဲလုသော အိမ်တို့၌ သူသည်နေရ၏။

²⁷For he hath covered his face with his fatness, and gathered fat upon [his] flanks.

²⁹ငွေမရတတ်ရ၊ သူ၏စည်းစိမ်မတည်ရ။ သူ၏ ဥစ္စာပစ္စည်းသည် မြေကြီးပေါ်မှာ မပြန့်ပွါးရ။

²⁸And he dwelleth in desolate cities, in houses that no man inhabiteth, which are destined to become heaps.

³⁰သူသည် မှောင်မိုက်ဘေးနှင့်မလွတ်ရ။ မီးလျှံသည်သူ၏အခက်အလက်တို့ကို လောင်လိမ့်မည်။ ဘုရားသခင်၏ နှုတ်တော်အသက်အားဖြင့် သုတ်သင် ပယ်ရှင်းခြင်းကို ခံရ၏။

²⁹He shall not become rich, neither shall his substance continue, and their possessions shall not extend upon the earth.

³¹အဘယ်သူမျှလှည့်စားခြင်းကိုခံ၍ အနတ္တကို မခိုလှုံစေနှင့်။ သို့မဟုတ် အနတ္တအကျိုးကို ခံရလိမ့်မည်။

³⁰He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches; and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.

³²အချိန်မစေ့မှီဆုံးခြင်းသို့ ရောက်လိမ့်မည်။ သူ၏ အခက်အလက်သည် မစိမ်းရာ။

³¹Let him not trust in vanity: he is deceived, for vanity shall be his recompense;

³³စပျစ်နွယ်ပင်ကဲ့သို့ မိမိ၌ မမှည့်သော အသီးကို ၎င်း၊ သံလွင်ပင်ကဲ့သို့ မိမိအပွင့်ကို၎င်း ချွေရလိမ့်မည်။

³²It shall be complete before his day, and his branch shall not be green.

³⁴အဓမ္မလူ၏အသင်းသည် ဆိတ်ညံလိမ့်မည်။ တံစိုးစားသောသူတို့၏နေရာသည် မီးလောင်လိမ့်မည်။

³³He shall shake off his unripe grapes as a vine, and shall cast his flower as an olive.

³⁵ထိုသူတို့သည်မကောင်းသောအကြံကို ပဋိသန္ဓေယူ၍ အနတ္တကိုဘွားတတ်ကြ၏။ သူတို့ဝမ်းထဲ၌မုသာကို ကိုယ်ဝန်ဆောင်တတ်သည်ဟု မြွက်ဆို၏။

³⁴For the family of the ungodly shall be barren, and fire shall consume the tents of bribery.

³⁵They conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity, and their belly prepareth deceit.
