1When therefore the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus makes and baptises more disciples than John
1ယေရှုသည် ကိုယ်တိုင်ဗတ္တိဇံကို ပေးတော်မမူ။
2(however, Jesus himself did not baptise, but his disciples),
2တပည့်တော်တို့သာလျှင် ပေးကြသော်လည်း၊ ယေရှုသည် ယောဟန်ထက်သာ၍များသော သူတို့ကို တပည့်တော်ဖြစ်စေ၍၊ ဗတ္တိဇံကိုပေးကြောင်းကို ဖာရိရှဲတို့သည် ကြားပြီဟု သခင်ဘုရားသိတော်မူသောအခါ၊
3he left Judaea and went away again unto Galilee.
3ယုဒပြည်မှ ထွက်သွား၍ ဂါလိလဲပြည်သို့ တဖန် ကြွတော်မူစဉ်တွင်၊
4And he must needs pass through Samaria.
4ရှမာရိပြည်အလယ်၌ ရှောက်သွားရ၏။
5He comes therefore to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near to the land which Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
5ယာကုပ်သည် မိမိသားယောသပ်အား ပေးသောမြေအကွက်နှင့်အနီး၊ ရှမာရိနယ်၊ ရှုခါအမည်ရှိသော မြို့သို့ ရောက်တော်မူ၏။
6Now a fountain of Jacob's was there; Jesus therefore, being wearied with the way he had come, sat just as he was at the fountain. It was about the sixth hour.
6ထိုအရပ်၌ယာကုပ်၏ ရေတွင်းရှိ၏။ ယေရှုသည် ခရီးသွား၍ ပင်ပန်းသောကြောင့် ရေတွင်းနားမှာ ထိုင်တော်မူ၏။ ထိုအချိန်သည် ခြောက်နာရီအချိန်ဖြစ်၏။
7A woman comes out of Samaria to draw water. Jesus says to her, Give me to drink
7ရှမာရိမိန်းမတယောက်သည် ရေခပ်ခြင်းငှါ လာ၍၊ ယေရှုက၊ ငါသောက်ဘို့ရေပေးပါဟု ထိုမိန်းမအား မိန့်တော်မူ၏။
8(for his disciples had gone away into the city that they might buy provisions).
8အကြောင်းမူကား၊ တပည့်တော်တို့သည် စားစရာကိုဝယ်ခြင်းငှါ မြို့ထဲသို့သွားကြသည် အခိုက် ဖြစ်သတည်း။
9The Samaritan woman therefore says to him, How dost thou, being a Jew, ask to drink of me who am a Samaritan woman? for Jews have no intercourse with Samaritans.
9ထိုမိန်းမကလည်း၊ သင်သည်ယုဒလူဖြစ်လျက်ပင်၊ ရှမာရိမိန်းမဖြစ်သောအကျွန်ုပ်ကိုအဘယ်ကြောင့် သောက်ဘို့တောင်းသနည်းဟုဆို၏။ ဆိုသည်အကြောင်းကား၊ ယုဒလူတို့သည် ရှမာရိလူတို့နှင့်ပေါင်းဘော်ခြင်း မရှိ။
10Jesus answered and said to her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that says to thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
10ယေရှုကလည်း၊ ဘုရားသခင်ကျေးဇူးတော်ကို၎င်း၊ ငါသောက်ဘို့ရေပေးပါဟုဆိုသော သူကား အဘယ် သူဖြစ်သည်ကို၎င်း သင်သည်သိလျှင် ထိုသူကိုတောင်းလိမ့်မည်။ ထိုသူသည်လည်း အသက်ရေကို ပေးလိမ့်မည် ဟုပြန်၍ မိန့်တော်မူသော်၊
11The woman says to him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: whence then hast thou the living water?
11မိန်းမက၊ သခင်၌ရေခပ်စရာမရှိ ရေတွင်းလည်း နက်သည်ဖြစ်၍၊ အသက်ရေကို အဘယ်သို့ရပါ မည်နည်း။
12Art thou greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself, and his sons, and his cattle?
12ဤရေတွင်းကို ငါတို့အဘ ယာကုပ်သည် ငါတို့အား ပေး၏။ သူ့ကိုယ်တိုင်မှစ၍၊ သားသမီး၊ တိရိစ္ဆာန် များတို့သည် ဤတွင်းရေကိုသောက်ကြပြီ။ သခင်သည် ထိုသူထက်ကြီးမြတ်သလောဟုဆို၏။
13Jesus answered and said to her, Every one who drinks of this water shall thirst again;
13ယေရှုကလည်း၊ ဤရေကိုသောက်သောသူသည် နောက်တဖန် ရေငတ်ဦးမည်။
14but whosoever drinks of the water which I shall give him shall never thirst for ever, but the water which I shall give him shall become in him a fountain of water, springing up into eternal life.
14ငါပေးသောရေကိုသောက်သောသူမူကား၊ ရေငတ်ခြင်းနှင့်အစဉ်မပြတ် ကင်းလွတ်လိမ့်မည်။ ငါပေး သော ရေသည် ထိုသူ၌ထာဝရအသက်ရှင်ခြင်းအလိုငှါ ထွက်သော စမ်းရေဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။
15The woman says to him, Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst nor come here to draw.
15မိန်းမကလည်း၊ သခင်၊ ကျွန်ုပ်သည်ရေငတ်ခြင်းနှင့်၎င်း၊ သည်ကိုလာ၍ရေခပ်ခြင်းနှင့်၎င်း ကင်းလွတ် မည်အကြောင်း ထိုရေကိုပေးပါဟု တောင်းလျှင်၊
16Jesus says to her, Go, call thy husband, and come here.
16ယေရှုက၊ သွားလော့။ သင်၏လင်ကိုခေါ်၍ သည်ကိုလာဦးလော့ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။
17The woman answered and said, I have not a husband. Jesus says to her, Thou hast well said, I have not a husband;
17မိန်းမကလည်း။ အကျွန်ုပ်၌လင်မရှိဟုဆိုလျှင်၊ ယေရှုက၊ လင်မရှိဟူသောစကားသည်မှန်၏။
18for thou hast had five husbands, and he whom now thou hast is not thy husband: this thou hast spoken truly.
18အကြောင်းမူကား၊ သင်၌လင်ငါးယောက်ရှိဘူးပြီ။ ယခုသင်နှင့်နေသောသူသည် သင်၏လင်မဟုတ်။ ဤအရာ၌ သင်သည်မှန်သော စကားကိုပြောပြီဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။
19The woman says to him, Sir, I see that thou art a prophet.
19ထိုမိန်းမကလည်း၊ သခင်၊ ကိုယ်တော်သည် ပရောဖက်ဖြစ်သည်ကို အကျွန်ုပ်ရိပ်မိပါ၏။
20Our fathers worshipped in this mountain, and ye say that in Jerusalem is the place where one must worship.
20အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ဘိုးဘေးများသည် ဤတောင်ပေါ်၌ ကိုးကွယ်လေ့ရှိကြ၏။ ယေရုရှလင်မြို့၌သာ ကိုးကွယ် ရမည်ဟု သင်တို့သည်ဆိုတတ်ကြ၏ဟု လျှောက်လျှင်၊
21Jesus says to her, Woman, believe me, [the] hour is coming when ye shall neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem worship the Father.
21ယေရှုက၊ အချင်းမိန်းမ၊ ငါ့စကားကိုယုံလော့။ ဤတောင်သို့ မလာ၊ ယေရုရှလင်မြို့သို့မသွားဘဲ ခမည်း တော်ကိုကိုးကွယ်ရမည် အချိန်ကာလရောက်ဆဲရှိ၏။
22Ye worship ye know not what; we worship what we know, for salvation is of the Jews.
22သင်တို့သည်ကိုယ်မသိသောအရာကို ကိုးကွယ်ကြ၏။ ငါတို့သည်ကိုယ်သိသောအရာကို ကိုးကွယ်ကြ ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ယုဒလူတို့၌ ကယ်တင်ခြင်းအကြောင်းရှိ၏။
23But [the] hour is coming and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for also the Father seeks such as his worshippers.
23ကိုးကွယ်သောသူမှန်သမျှတို့သည် ခမည်းတော်ကို နံဝိညာဉ်နှင့်၎င်း၊ သစ္စာတရားနှင့်၎င်း၊ ကိုးကွယ် ရမည့်အချိန်ကာလသည်လာ၍ ယခုပင်ရောက်လျက်ရှိ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ထိုသို့ကိုးကွယ်သောသူတို့ကို ခမည်းတော်သည် အလိုရှိတော်မူ၏။
24God [is] a spirit; and they who worship him must worship [him] in spirit and truth.
24ဘုရားသခင်သည် နံဝိညာဉ်ဖြစ်တော်မူ၏။ ဘုရားသခင်ကို ကိုးကွယ်သောသူတို့သည်၊ နံဝိညာဉ်နှင့် ၎င်း၊ သစ္စာနှင့်၎င်း ကိုးကွယ်ရမည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။
25The woman says to him, I know that Messias is coming, who is called Christ; when *he* comes he will tell us all things.
25မိန်းမကလည်း၊ မေရှိကြွလာတော်မူသည်ဟု အကျွန်ုပ်သိပါ၏။ ရောက်တော်မူသောအခါ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ အား အလုံးစုံတို့ကိုဘော်ပြတော်မူမည်ဟု လျှောက်ပြန်၏။ မေရှိအနက်ကား၊ ခရစ်တော်ဟု ဆိုလိုသတည်း။
26Jesus says to her, I who speak to thee am [he].
26ယေရှုကလည်း၊ သင်နှင့်စကားပြောသော ငါသည် မေရှိပင်ဖြစ်သည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။
27And upon this came his disciples, and wondered that he spoke with a woman; yet no one said, What seekest thou? or, Why speakest thou with her?
27ထိုအခါတပည့်တော်တို့သည် ရောက်လာ၍၊ ထိုမိန်းမနှင့်စကားပြောတော်မူသည်ကို အံ့ဩခြင်းရှိကြ၏၊ သို့သော်လည်း၊ အဘယ်အလိုတော်ရှိသနည်း၊ ထိုမိန်းမနှင့်အဘယ်ကြောင့် စကားပြောတော်မူသနည်းဟု အဘယ်သူမျှမလျှောက်ကြ။
28The woman then left her waterpot and went away into the city, and says to the men,
28ထိုမိန်းမသည်လည်းရေအိုးကိုထားခဲ့၍ မြို့ထဲသို့ သွားပြီးလျှင်၊
29Come, see a man who told me all things I had ever done: is not he the Christ?
29အကျွန်ုပ်ပြုဘူးသမျှသော အမူအရာတို့ကို ထုတ်ဘော်သောသူကိုလာ၍ကြည့်ကြပါ။ ထိုသူသည် ခရစ်တော်မှန်လိမ့်မည်လောဟု လူများတို့အား ပြောဆိုသော်၊
30They went out of the city and came to him.
30သူတို့သည် မြို့ထဲမှထွက်၍ အထံတော်သို့ သွားကြ၏။
31But meanwhile the disciples asked him saying, Rabbi, eat.
31မရောက်မှီတွင်တပည့်တော်တို့က၊ အရှင်ဘုရား၊ အစာကိုသုံးဆောင်တော်မူပါဟုတောင်းပန်ကြလျှင်၊
32But he said to them, I have food to eat which ye do not know.
32သင်တို့မသိသော စားစရာသည် ငါ့၌ရှိသည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။
33The disciples therefore said to one another, Has any one brought him [anything] to eat?
33ထိုကြောင့်တပည့်တော်တို့က၊ တစုံတယောက်သောသူသည် စားစရာကို ပို့ပြီလောဟု အချင်းချင်း မေး မြန်းကြလျှင်၊
34Jesus says to them, My food is that I should do the will of him that has sent me, and that I should finish his work.
34ယေရှုက၊ ငါ့ကိုစေလွှတ်တော်မူသောသူ၏ အလိုတော်ကိုဆောင်ခြင်း၊ သူ၏အမှုတော်ကို ပြီးစီးခြင်း အမှုသည် ငါ့စားစရာဖြစ်၏။
35Do not ye say, that there are yet four months and the harvest comes? Behold, I say to you, Lift up your eyes and behold the fields, for they are already white to harvest.
35ယခုမှစ၍ လေးလလွန်လျှင်၊ စပါးရိတ်ရာကာလဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်ဟု သင်တို့ဆိုတတ်သည်မဟုတ်လော။ ငါဆိုသည်ကား၊ စပါးရိတ်ခြင်း အလိုငှါ လယ်ပြင်တို့သည် ယခုပင်ဝင်းဝင်းရှိသည်ကို မျှော်၍ကြည့်ကြလော့။
36He that reaps receives wages and gathers fruit unto life eternal, that both he that sows and he that reaps may rejoice together.
36စပါးရိတ်သောသူသည် အခကိုခံရ၍ ထာဝရအသက်ရှင်ခြင်းအလိုငှါ အသီးအနှံကိုစုသိမ်း၏။ သို့ဖြစ် လျှင် ပျိုးကြဲသောသူနှင့် စပါးရိတ်သောသူတို့သည် အတူဝမ်းမြောက်ကြလိမ့်မည်။
37For in this is [verified] the true saying, It is one who sows and another who reaps.
37တဦးကားပျိုးကြဲ၏။ တဦးကားစပါးရိတ်၏ဟူသော စကားသည် ဤအရာ၌အမှန်ကျသတည်း။
38I have sent you to reap that on which ye have not laboured; others have laboured, and ye have entered into their labours.
38သင်တို့သည် လယ်မလုပ်သောအရပ်၌ စပါးရိတ်စေခြင်းငှါ သင်တို့ကိုငါစေလွှတ်၏။ အခြားသော သူတို့သည် လယ်လုပ်ကြ၍၊ သင်တို့သည် ထိုသူတို့၏ အလုပ်ထဲသို့ ဝင်ရကြ၏ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။
39But many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him because of the word of the woman who bore witness, He told me all things that I had ever done.
39ရှမာရိမိန်းမက၊ အကျွန်ုပ်ပြုဘူးသမျှသော အမှုအရာတို့ကို သူသည်ထုတ်ဘော်ပြီဟု သက်သေခံသော စကားကြောင့်၊ ထိုမြို့၌နေသော ရှမာရိလူအများတို့သည် ယေရှုကိုယုံကြည်ကြ၏။
40When therefore the Samaritans came to him they asked him to abide with them, and he abode there two days.
40ထိုကြောင့်၊ ရှမာရိလူတို့သည် အထံတော်သို့ရောက်လျှင်၊ မိမိတို့အရပ်၌နေတော်မူမည်ကြောင်း တောင်းပန်၏။ ထိုအရပ်၌ နှစ်ရက်နေတော်မူ၏။
41And more a great deal believed on account of his word;
41အခြားသောသူအများတို့သည် နှုတ်ကပတ်စကားတော်ကြောင့် ယုံကြည်၍၊
42and they said to the woman, [It is] no longer on account of thy saying that we believe, for we have heard him ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Saviour of the world.
42ထိုမိန်းမအား၊ ယခုဖြစ်လျှင် ငါတို့သည် သင်၏စကားကြောင့်သာ ယုံကြည်သည်မဟုတ်။ စကားတော် ကို ကိုယ်တိုင်ကြားနာရ၍၊ ဤသူသည်လောကီသားတို့ကို ကယ်တင်တော်မူသော သခင်တည်းဟူသော ခရစ်တော် အမှန်စင်စစ်ဖြစ်တော်မူကြောင်းကို သိသည်ဟု ဆိုကြ၏။
43But after the two days he went forth thence and went away into Galilee,
43နှစ်ရက်လွန်ပြီးလျှင်၊ ထိုအရပ်မှထွက်၍ နာဇရက်မြို့ကို ရှောင်လျက်၊ ဂါလိလဲပြည်သို့ ကြွတော်မူ၏။
44for Jesus himself bore witness that a prophet has no honour in his own country.
44အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ပရောဖက်သည် မိမိနေရင်းပြည်၌ အသရေမရှိဟု ယေရှုသည် ကိုယ်တိုင်သက်သေ ခံတော်မူ၏။
45When therefore he came into Galilee, the Galileans received him, having seen all that he had done in Jerusalem during the feast, for they also went to the feast.
45ဂါလိလဲပြည်သို့ ရောက်တော်မူသောအခါ၊ ဂါလိလဲလူတို့သည် ကိုယ်တော်ကိုလက်ခံကြ၏။ အကြောင်း မူကား၊ ထိုသူတို့သည် ယေရုရှလင်မြို့၌ ခံသောပွဲသို့ သွားတတ်သဖြင့်၊ ထိုပွဲအတွင်းတွင် ပြုတော်မူသမျှတို့ကို မြင်ခဲ့ကြ၏။
46He came therefore again to Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain courtier in Capernaum whose son was sick.
46ရေကိုစပျစ်ရည်ဖြစ်စေသောအရပ်၊ ဂါလိလဲပြည်ကာနမြို့သို့ တဖန်ကြွတော်မူ၏။ ကပေရနောင်မြို့၌ အမတ်တယောက်၏သားသည် အနာရောဂါစွဲလျက်ရှိ၏။
47He, having heard that Jesus had come out of Judaea into Galilee, went to him and asked [him] that he would come down and heal his son, for he was about to die.
47ယေရှုသည်ယုဒပြည်မှဂါလိလဲပြည်သို့ ရောက်တော်မူသည်ကို ထိုအမတ်သည်ကြားလျှင်၊ အထံတော်သို့ သွား၍ သေခါနီးဖြစ်သော မိမိသားဆီသို့ကြွ၍ အနာရောဂါကို ငြိမ်းစေတော်မူမည်အကြောင်း တောင်းပန် လေ၏။
48Jesus therefore said to him, Unless ye see signs and wonders ye will not believe.
48ယေရှုကလည်း၊ သင်တို့သည်နိမိတ်လက္ခဏာနှင့် အံ့ဖွယ်သောအမှုတို့ကို မမြင်ရလျှင်ယုံခြင်းမရှိကြဟု မိန့်တော်မူသော်၊
49The courtier says to him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
49သခင်၊ အကျွန်ုပ်သားမသေမှီကြွတော်မူပါဟု အမတ်လျှောက်ပြန်၏။
50Jesus says to him, Go, thy son lives. And the man believed the word which Jesus said to him, and went his way.
50ယေရှုကလည်း၊ သွားလော့။ သင်၏သားသည် အသက်ချမ်းသာရပြီဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။ ထိုအမတ်သည် ယေရှုမိန့်တော်မူသောစကားကို ယုံ၍သွားလေ၏။
51But already, as he was going down, his servants met him and brought [him] word saying, Thy child lives.
51လမ်း၌သွားစဉ်တွင် မိမိငယ်သားတို့သည် ခရီးဦးကြိုလာ၍၊ ကိုယ်တော်၏သားတော်သည် အသက် ချမ်းသာရပါပြီဟု ကြားလျှောက်ကြ၏။
52He inquired therefore from them the hour at which he got better. And they said to him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
52အဘယ်အချိန်၌ သက်သာခြင်းသို့ ရောက်သနည်းဟုမေးလျှင်၊ မနေ့ခုနစ်နာရီအချိန်၌ ဖျားနာပျောက် ပါသည်ဟု လျှောက်ကြ၏။
53The father therefore knew that [it was] in that hour in which Jesus said to him, Thy son lives; and he believed, himself and his whole house.
53ထိုအချိန်ကား၊ သင်၏သားသည် အသက်ချမ်းသာရပြီဟု ယေရှုမိန့်တော်မူသောအချိန်ဖြစ်သည်ကို အဘသိ၍၊ ကိုယ်တိုင်မှစသော မိမိ၏အိမ်သူအိမ်သား အပေါင်းတို့သည် ယုံကြည်ခြင်းသို့ ရောက်ကြ၏။
54This second sign again did Jesus, being come out of Judaea into Galilee.
54ဤနိမိတ်လက္ခဏာတော်ကား၊ ယေရှုသည် ယုဒပြည်မှဂါလိလဲပြည်သို့ကြွသည်နောက်၊ ပြတော်မူသော ဒုတိယနိမိတ်လက္ခဏာဖြစ်သတည်း။
