¹And all the children of Israel went forth, and the assembly gathered together as one man, from Dan to Beer-sheba, and the land of Gilead, unto Jehovah at Mizpah.

¹ထိုအခါ ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားအပေါင်းတို့သည်၊ ဂိလဒ်ပြည်သားတို့နှင့်တကွ ထလျက်၊ ဒန်မြို့မှစ၍ ဗေရရှေဘမြို့တိုင်အောင် ပရိသတ်အပေါင်းတို့သည် တယောက်သောသူကဲ့သို့ မိဇပါမြို့၊ ထာဝရဘုရား ထံတော်၌ စည်းဝေးကြ၏။

²And the heads of all the people, of all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the congregation of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen that drew sword.

²ဣသရေလ အမျိုးအနွယ်အပေါင်း၊ ပြည်သားအပေါင်းတို့၏ အကြီးအကဲတို့သည် စည်းဝေးကြသော်၊ ဘုရားသခင်၏လူ၊ ထားလက်နက်စွဲကိုင်သော ခြေသည်သူရဲ လေးသိန်းနှင့်တကွ ချဉ်းကပ်ကြ၏။

³And the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel had gone up to Mizpah. And the children of Israel said, Tell [us], how was this wickedness?

³ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည် မိဇပါမြို့သို့ သွားကြောင်းကို ဗင်္ယာမိန်အမျိုးသားတို့သည် ကြားသိကြ၏။ ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့က၊ ထိုအဓမ္မအမှုကား အဘယ်သို့နည်းဟု မေးမြန်းလျှင်၊-

⁴Then the Levite, the husband of the woman that was murdered, answered and said, I came to Gibeah that [belongs] to Benjamin, I and my concubine, to lodge.

⁴အသေခံရသော မိန်းမ၏လင် လေဝိလူက၊ အကျွန်ုပ်သည် မယားငယ်နှင့်အတူလာ၍ ဗင်္ယာမိန် ခရိုင်၊ ဂိဗာမြို့မှာ ညဉ့်ကို လွန်စေပါ၏။

⁵And the citizens of Gibeah rose against me, and surrounded the house because of me, by night; they thought to slay me, and my concubine have they humbled so that she died.

⁵ညဉ့်အခါ ဂိဗာမြို့သားတို့သည် ထ၍ အကျွန်ုပ်တည်းခိုသောအိမ်ကို ဝိုင်းလျက်၊ အကျွန်ုပ်ကို တိုက် သတ်မည် အားထုတ်ကြပါ၏။ မယားငယ် သေသည်တိုင်အောင် ရှုတ်ချကြပါ၏။ -

⁶Then I took my concubine, and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout the country of the inheritance of Israel; for they have committed lewdness and villany in Israel.

⁶အကျွန်ုပ်သည်လည်း မယားငယ်အကောင်ကိုယူ၍ အပိုင်းပိုင်းဖြတ်ပြီးမှ၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုး အမွေခံ ရာ ပြည်တရှောက်လုံးသို့ ပေးလိုက်ပါ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ သူတို့သည် ဣသရေလအမျိုး၌ ဆိုးညစ် သောအမှု၊ အဓမ္မအမှုကို ပြုကြပါပြီ။-

⁷Behold, all ye, children of Israel, deliberate and give here [your] counsel.

⁷သင်တို့ရှိသမျှသည် ဣသရေလအမျိုး ဖြစ်ကြပါ၏။ ဤအရပ်၌ တိုင်ပင်စီရင်ကြပါလော့ဟု ပြောဆို လေ၏။-

⁸And all the people rose up as one man, saying, We will not any one go to his tent, neither will we any one turn into his house.

⁸လူအပေါင်းတို့သည် တယောက်သောသူကဲ့သို့ ထ၍ ငါတို့သည် တယောက်မျှ မိမိတဲသို့မသွား၊ မိမိ အိမ်သို့မပြန်။-

⁹But now this is the thing which we will do to Gibeah: [we go] by lot against it;

⁹ဂိဗာမြို့၌ အဘယ်သို့ ပြုမည်နည်း ဟူမူကား၊ စာရေးတံချ၍ အတိုက်သွားမည်။

¹⁰and we will take ten men of a hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, and a hundred of a thousand, and a thousand of ten thousand, to fetch victuals for the people, that they may do, when they come to Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the villany that they have wrought in Israel.

¹⁰ဗင်္ယာမိန်ခရိုင် ဂိဗာမြို့သားတို့သည်၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုးတို့၌ ပြုသမျှသော အဓမ္မအမှုနှင့် ညီလျော်စွာ လူများတို့သည် ထိုမြို့သို့ရောက်၍ အပြစ်ဒဏ်ပေးမည်အကြောင်း၊ သူတို့စားစရိတ်ကို ပို့စေခြင်းငှါ ဣသရေလအမျိုးအနွယ်အပေါင်းတို့၌ လူတရာတွင် တဆယ်၊ တထောင်တွင်တရာ၊ တသောင်းတွင် တထောင်တို့ကို ရွေးကောက်ကြကုန်အံ့ဟု ဆိုလျက်၊

¹¹And all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit together as one man.

¹¹ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားအပေါင်းတို့သည် ဂိဗာမြို့တဘက်၌ စည်းဝေး၍ တယောက်သောသူကဲ့သို့ သင်းဖွဲ့လျက်နေကြ၏။

¹²And the tribes of Israel sent men to all the families of Benjamin, saying, What wickedness is this that has been done among you?

¹²ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည်၊ ဗင်္ယာမိန်ခရိုင်တရှောက်လုံးသို့ စေလွှတ်၍၊ သင်တို့တွင် ပြုသော ဤအဓမ္မအမှုကား အဘယ်သို့နည်း။

¹³And now give up the men, the sons of Belial, who are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But [the children of] Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel.

¹³ယခုမှာ ဂီဗာမြို့၌ရှိသော ထိုအဓမ္မလူတို့ကို ငါတို့ယူ၍ သတ်သဖြင့် ဣသရေလအမျိုးထဲက ဒုစရိုက် အပြစ်ကို ပယ်ရှားမည်အကြောင်း ထိုလူတို့ကိုအပ်ကြပါဟု မှာလိုက်ကြ၏။ သို့ရာတွင် ဗင်္ယာမိန် အမျိုးသားတို့သည်၊ ညီအစ်ကို ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့စကားကို နားမထောင်ဘဲ၊

¹⁴And the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together out of the cities of Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.

¹⁴ထိုအမျိုးသားတို့ကို စစ်တိုက်ခြင်းငှါ၊ အမြို့မြို့အရွာရွာက ထွက်၍ ဂိဗာမြို့၌ စည်းဝေးကြ၏။-

¹⁵And the children of Benjamin were numbered at that time out of the cities, twenty-six thousand men that drew sword, besides the inhabitants of Gibeah, who were numbered seven hundred chosen men.

¹⁵ထိုအခါ ဂိဗာမြို့သား ယောက်ျားကောင်း ခုနစ်ရာမှတပါး အမြို့မြို့အရွာရွာက လာသော ဗင်္ယာ မိန် အမျိုးသား အရေအတွက်ကား၊ ထားလက်နက်စွဲကိုင်သောသူ နှစ်သောင်းခြောက်ထောင်တည်း။

¹⁶Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men left-handed; all these slang stones at a hair [breadth], and missed not.

¹⁶ထိုလူအပေါင်းတို့တွင် လက်ဝဲလက်ကို သုံးတတ်သဖြင့်၊ ဆံခြည်တပင်ကို လောက်လွှဲနှင့်မှန်အောင် ပစ်နိုင်သော ယောက်ျားကောင်း ခုနှစ်ရာပါသတည်း။

¹⁷And the men of Israel, besides Benjamin, were numbered four hundred thousand men that drew sword: all these were men of war.

¹⁷ဗင်္ယာမိန်အမျိုးသားမှတပါး ထားလက်နက်စွဲကိုင်၍ စစ်သူရဲဖြစ်သော ဣသရေလအမျိုးသား အရေ အတွက်ကား လေးသိန်းတည်း။

¹⁸And the children of Israel arose and went up to Bethel, and inquired of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And Jehovah said, Judah first.

¹⁸ဣသရေလ အမျိုးသားတို့သည် ဘုရားသခင်၏ အိမ်တော်သို့ ထ၍ သွားပြီးလျှင်၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့တွင် အဘယ်သူသည် ဗင်္ယာမိန် အမျိုးကို အဦး ချီသွားရပါမည်နည်းဟု ဘုရားသခင်ထံတော်၌ မေးလျှောက် ကြသော်၊ ထာဝရဘုရားက၊ ယုဒသည် အဦးချီသွားရမည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

¹⁹And the children of Israel rose up in the morning and encamped against Gibeah.

¹⁹နံနက်စောစော ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည် ထ၍ ဂိဗာမြို့အနား၌ တပ်ချပြီးမှ၊

²⁰And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel put themselves in array to fight against them at Gibeah.

²⁰ဗင်္ယာမိန်အမျိုးသားတို့ကို တိုက်ခြင်းငှါ ချီသွား၍ ဂိဗာမြို့ရှေ့မှာ စစ်ခင်းကျင်းလျက် နေကြ၏။

²¹And the children of Benjamin went forth out of Gibeah, and destroyed to the ground of the Israelites that day twenty-two thousand men.

²¹ဗင်္ယာမိန်အမျိုးသားတို့သည် ဂိဗာမြို့ထဲက ထွက်ပြီးလျှင်၊ ထိုနေ့တွင် ဣသရေလ လူတသောင်း နှစ်ထောင်တို့ကို မြေပေါ်မှာ လှဲ၍ သတ်ကြ၏။

²²And the people, the men of Israel, took courage, and set the battle again in array in the place where they put themselves in array the first day.

²²သို့ရာတွင် ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည် ရဲရင့်သောစိတ်ကိုယူ၍ ပဌမနေ့တွင် စစ်ခင်းကျင်းသော အရပ်၌ တဖန်ခင်းကျင်းကြ၏။

²³And the children of Israel went up and wept before Jehovah until even, and inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go up again to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother? And Jehovah said, Go up against him.

²³ထာဝရဘုရားထံတော်သို့ သွား၍ ညဦးယံတိုင်အောင် ငိုကြွေးလျက်၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ညီ ဗင်္ယာမိန်အမျိုး သားတို့ကို တဖန်စစ်တိုက်ရပါမည်လောဟု ထာဝရဘုရားအား မေးလျှောက်သော်၊ ထာဝရဘုရားက ချီသွားကြလော့ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

²⁴And the children of Israel came near against the children of Benjamin the second day.

²⁴ဒုတိယနေ့တွင် ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည် ဗင်္ယာမိန်အမျိုးတို့အနီးသို့ ချဉ်းကြသောအခါ၊

²⁵And Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and again destroyed to the ground of the children of Israel eighteen thousand men: all these drew the sword.

²⁵ဗင်္ယာမိန် အမျိုးသားတို့သည် ဂိဗာမြို့ထဲက ထွက်ပြီးလျှင်၊ ထားလက်နက်စွဲကိုင်သော ဣသရေလ လူတသောင်းရှစ်ထောင်တို့ကို မြေပေါ်၌ လှဲ၍ သတ်ကြ၏။

²⁶Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up and came to Bethel, and wept, and abode there before Jehovah, and fasted that day until even, and offered up burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before Jehovah.

²⁶ထိုအခါ ဣသရေလအမျိုးသား အပေါင်းတို့သည် ဘုရားသခင်အိမ်တော်သို့သွား၍ ငိုကြွေးလျက်၊ ထာဝရဘုရားထံတော်၌ ဝပ်လျက်၊ တနေ့လုံး ညဦးယံတိုင်အောင် အစာကို ရှောင်၍ ထာဝရဘုရားအား မီးရှို့ရာယဇ်၊ မိဿဟာယယဇ်တို့ကို ပူဇော်ကြ၏။

²⁷And the children of Israel inquired of Jehovah (and the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,

²⁷ထိုကာလ၌ ဘုရားသခင်၏ ပဋိညာဉ် သေတ္တာတော်ပါလျက်၊ အာရုန်၏သားဖြစ်သော ဧလာဇာ၏ သား ဖိနဟတ်သည်၊ သေတ္တာတော်ရှေ့မှာ အမှုစောင့်သည် ဖြစ်၍၊-

²⁸and Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days), saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease? And Jehovah said, Go up; for to-morrow I will give them into thy hand.

²⁸ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့က၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ ညီဗင်္ယာမိန်အမျိုးသားတို့ကို တဖန်သွား၍ တိုက်ရပါမည်လော၊ မသွားဘဲနေရပါမည်လောဟု ထာဝရဘုရားအား မေးလျှောက်သော်၊ ထာဝရ ဘုရားက သွားကြလော့။ နက်ဖြန်နေ့တွင် သူတို့ကို သင်တို့လက်၌ ငါအပ်မည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

²⁹And Israel set liers in wait against Gibeah, round about.

²⁹ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည် ဂိဗာမြို့ပတ်လည်၌ ကင်းစောင့်လူတို့ကို ထားပြီးမှ၊

³⁰And the children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin on the third day, and put themselves in array against Gibeah, as at the other times.

³⁰တတိယနေ့တွင် ဗင်္ယာမိန် အမျိုးသားတို့ရှိရာသို့ ချီသွား၍၊ ယမန်ကဲ့သို့ ဂိဗာမြို့အနား၌ စစ်ခင်းကျင်း လျက် နေကြ၏။

³¹And the children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city, and began to smite of the people, slaying as at the former times, in the highways, of which one leads to Bethel and the other to Gibeah in the field, about thirty men of Israel.

³¹ဗင်္ယာမိန် အမျိုးသားတို့သည် အတိုက်ထွက်၍ မြို့နှင့်ကွာသွားကြ၏။ ဗေသလမြို့သို့ သွားသောလမ်း၊ ဂိဗာတောရွာသို့ သွားသောလမ်းတွင် ယမန်ကဲ့သို့ ဣသရေအလအမျိုးသူရဲတို့ကို လုပ်ကြံစပြု၍ လူသုံးဆယ်ခန့်မျှ သေကြ၏။

³²And the children of Benjamin said, They are smitten down before us, as at the first. And the children of Israel said, Let us flee, that we may draw them from the city to the highways.

³²ဗင်္ယာမိန်အမျိုးသားတို့က၊ သူတို့သည် ယမန်ကဲ့သို့ ငါတို့ရှေ့မှာ ရှုံးကြပြီဟု ဆိုသော်လည်း၊ ဣသရေလ အမျိုးသားတို့က ပြေးကြကုန်အံ့၊ သူတို့ကို မြို့နှင့်ဝေးသော လမ်းတို့သို့ သွေးဆောင်ကြကုန်အံ့ဟု ဆိုလျက်၊

³³And all the men of Israel rose up out of their place, and put themselves in array at Baal-Tamar; and the ambush of Israel rushed forth out of their place, out of the meadows of Geba.

³³ဣသရေလလူအပေါင်းတို့သည် မိမိတို့ နေရာအရပ်မှထ၍ ဗာလတာမာမြို့၌ စစ်ခင်းကြ၏။ ကင်း စောင့်လျက်နေသော ဣသရေလလူတို့သည်လည်း မိမိတို့နေရာ ဂိဗာလွင်ပြင်မှ ထကြသဖြင့်၊

³⁴And there came from opposite Gibeah ten thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and the battle was severe; but they knew not that disaster was coming upon them.

³⁴ဣသရေလအမျိုးသား ယောက်ျားကောင်း တသောင်းတို့သည် ဂိဗာမြို့သို့ ချီလာ၍၊ ဗင်္ယာမိန် အမျိုး သားတို့သည် ဘေးရောက်လုနီးသည်ကို မရိပ်မိသောကြောင့်၊ ကျပ်တည်းစွာ ဆီး၍ တိုက်ကြ၏။

³⁵And Jehovah smote Benjamin before Israel; and the children of Israel destroyed of the Benjaminites that day twenty-five thousand one hundred men: all these drew the sword.

³⁵ထိုအခါ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ဗင်္ယာမိန်လူတို့ကို ဣသရေလလူတို့ရှေ့မှာ ရှုံးစေတော်မူသဖြင့်၊ ထို့နေ့ တွင် ဣသရေလ လူတို့သည် ထားလက်နက်စွဲကိုင်သော ဗင်္ယာမိန်လူနှစ်သောင်းငါးထောင်တရာ တို့ကို ပယ်ရှင်းကြ၏။

³⁶And the children of Benjamin saw that they were smitten. -- And the men of Israel gave place to Benjamin, because they trusted to the ambush that they had set against Gibeah.

³⁶ဗင်္ယာမိန်အမျိုးသားတို့သည် မိမိတို့ ရှုံးသည်ကို သိမြင်ကြ၏။ ဣသရေလူတို့သည်၊ ဂိဗာမြို့အနား၌ ထားသော ကင်းတပ်ကို ကိုးစားသောကြောင့်၊ အစက ဗင်္ယာမိန်လူတို့ရှေ့မှာ ဆုတ်ကြ၏

³⁷And the ambush hasted, and fell upon Gibeah; and the ambush drew along, and smote the whole city with the edge of the sword.

³⁷ကင်းတပ်သားတို့သည် ဂိဗာမြို့သို့ တဟုန်တည်းပြေးဝင်၍ အနှံ့အပြား တိုက်သဖြင့် တမြို့လုံးကို ထားနှင့်လုပ်ကြံကြ၏။

³⁸Now there was an appointed sign between the men of Israel and the ambush, that they should make a thick column of smoke rise up out of the city.

³⁸မြို့ထဲမှာ ကြီးစွာသော မီးခိုးတက်စေရမည်အကြောင်း ဣသရေလလူတို့သည် ကင်းစောင့်လူတို့အား အကြံပေးနှင့်ကြပြီဖြစ်၍၊

³⁹And when the men of Israel turned back in the battle, Benjamin began to smite, slaying of the men of Israel about thirty men; for they said, Surely they are quite routed before us as in the first battle.

³⁹ဣသရေလလူတို့သည် စစ်တိုက်ရာတွင် ဆုတ်သောအခါ၊ ဗင်္ယာမိန်လူတို့က၊ အကယ်၍ သူတို့သည် ယမန်စစ်ရှုံးသကဲ့သို့ ငါတို့ရှေ့မှာ ရှုံးကြပြီဟု ဆိုလျက် သူရဲတို့ကို လုပ်ကြံစပြု၍ လူသုံးဆယ်ခန့်မျှ သေကြ၏။

⁴⁰And when the burning began to rise up out of the city as a pillar of smoke, Benjamin looked behind, and behold, the whole city ascended [in smoke] to the heavens.

⁴⁰တဖန် မီးလောင်၍ ထူထပ်သော မီးခိုးသည် မြို့ထဲမှာ တက်စရှိသောအခါ၊ ဗင်္ယာမိန်လူတို့သည် ပြန်ကြည့်၍ မြို့ကိုလောင်သော မီးလျှံသည် မိုဃ်းကောင်းကင်သို့ တက်သည်ကို မြင်ကြ၍၊

⁴¹Then the men of Israel turned back, and the men of Benjamin were amazed, for they saw that disaster was come upon them.

⁴¹ဣသရေလလူတို့သည် လှည့်၍ ပြန်သောအခါ၊ ဗင်္ယာမိန်လူတို့သည် ဘေးရောက်ကြောင်းကို သိမြင်လျှင်၊-

⁴²And they turned before the men of Israel to the way of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them; and those who came out of the cities destroyed them in their midst.

⁴²မိန်းမောတွေဝေ၍ ဣသရေလလူတို့ရှေ့မှာ တောလမ်းသို့ ပြေးသော်လည်း၊ စစ်တိုက်လိုက်လာ သော သူတို့သည် မှီသဖြင့် ပြေးသော သူတို့ကို၎င်း၊ မြို့ရွာများထဲက ထွက်လာသောသူတို့ကို၎င်း၊ တပြိုင်နက်ဖျက်ဆီးကြ၏။

⁴³They encompassed the Benjaminites, chased them, trode them down at the resting-place over against Gibeah toward the sun-rising.

⁴³ဗင်္ယာမိန်လူတို့ကို ဝိုင်းလျက်လိုက်လျက်၊ နုခါရွာမှစ၍ နေထွက်ရာဘက်၊ ဂိဗာမြို့အနားတိုင်အောင် နှိပ်နင်းကြ၏။

⁴⁴And there fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men: all these, men of valour.

⁴⁴ထိုအခါ ဗင်္ယာမိန်သူရဲ တသောင်းရှစ်ထောင်တို့သည် လဲ၍ သေကြ၏။

⁴⁵And they turned and fled towards the wilderness to the cliff of Rimmon, and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men; and pursued hard after them to Gidom, and slew two thousand men of them.

⁴⁵ကြွင်းသော သူတို့သည် လှည့်၍ တောအရပ် ရိမ္မုန်ကျောက်သို့ ပြေးကြစဉ်တွင်၊ လိုက်သော သူတို့သည် လူငါးထောင်တို့ကို လမ်းမှာဖမ်းမိကြ၏။ ဂိဒုံမြို့တိုင်အောင် အပြင်းလိုက်၍ လူနှစ်ထောင်တို့ကိုလည်း သတ်ကြ၏။

⁴⁶So that all who fell that day of Benjamin were twenty-five thousand men that drew the sword: all these, men of valour.

⁴⁶ထိုနေ့တွင် လဲ၍ သေသော ဗင်္ယာမိန် ထားစွဲသူရဲတို့ အရေအတွက်ကား၊ နှစ်သောင်းငါးထောင်တည်း။

⁴⁷And six hundred men turned and fled to the wilderness to the cliff of Rimmon, and abode at the cliff of Rimmon four months.

⁴⁷လူခြောက်ရာတို့သည် လှည့်၍ တောအရပ်ရိမ္မုန်ကျောက်ကို မှီအောင်ပြေးသဖြင့်၊ ထိုကျောက် အောက်မှာ လေးလနေကြ၏။

⁴⁸And the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them with the edge of the sword, as well the men of [every] city as the cattle, and all that was found; even all the cities that were found did they set on fire.

⁴⁸ဣသရေလလူတို့သည် တဖန် လှည့်၍၊ ဗင်္ယာမိန်အမျိုးသားတို့ကို တိုက်လျက် မြို့ရွာ၌ ရှိသောလူ၊ တိရစ္ဆာန်တွေ့သမျှတို့ကို ထားနှင့်လုပ်ကြံ၍၊ တွေ့သမျှသော မြို့ရွာတို့ကို မီးရှို့ကြ၏။
