¹And he spoke also a parable to them to the purport that they should always pray and not faint,

¹လူတို့သည် အားမလျော့ဘဲကြိုးစား၍ ဆုတောင်းရမည်အကြောင်းကို ဥပမာစကားအားဖြင့် မိန့်တော်မူ သည်ကား၊

²saying, There was a judge in a city, not fearing God and not respecting man:

²မြို့တမြို့၌ ဘုရားသခင်ကို မကြောက်ရွံ့၊ လူကို အားမနာတတ်သော တရားသူကြီးတယောက်ရှိ၏။

³and there was a widow in that city, and she came to him, saying, Avenge me of mine adverse party.

³ထိုမြို့၌နေသော မုတ်ဆိုးမတယောက်သည် တရားသူကြီးထံသို့သွား၍၊ ကျွန်မရန်ဘက်ကို လက်စား ချေလောက်အောင် အပြစ်အလျောက်ဒဏ် စီရင်ပါဟု တောင်းပန်သော်လည်း၊

⁴And he would not for a time; but afterwards he said within himself, If even I fear not God and respect not man,

⁴တရားမစီရင်ဘဲ ကြာမြင့်စွာနေ၏။ ထိုနောက် တရားသူကြီးက၊ ငါသည် ဘုရားသခင်ကို မကြောက်ရွံ့၊ လူကို အားမနာတတ်သောသူ ဖြစ်သော်လည်း၊

⁵at any rate because this widow annoys me I will avenge her, that she may not by perpetually coming completely harass me.

⁵ဤမုတ်ဆိုးမသည် ငါ့ကိုနှောင့်ရှက်သောကြောင့် သူ့ဘက်၌ တရားစီရင်မည်။ သို့မဟုတ် အစဉ်လာ၍ ငါ့ကို ပင်ပန်းစေလိမ့်မည်ဟု စိတ်ထဲ၌ အကြံရှိ၏။

⁶And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge says.

⁶မတရားသော ထိုတရားသူကြီး၏ အကြံကိုမှတ်ကြလော့။

⁷And shall not God at all avenge his elect, who cry to him day and night, and he bears long as to them?

⁷ဘုရားသခင် ရွေးကောက်တော်မူသောသူတို့သည် ညဉ့်နေ့မပြတ် အော်ဟစ်၍ တောင်းလျှောက်လျှင်၊ ဘုရားသခင်သည် သူတို့ဘက်၌ တရားမစီရင်ဘဲ နေတော်မူမည်လော။ ကြာမြင့်စွာ သည်းခံတော်မူမည်လော။

⁸I say unto you that he will avenge them speedily. But when the Son of man comes, shall he indeed find faith on the earth?

⁸ငါဆိုသည်ကား၊ သူတို့ဘက်၌ အလျင်အမြန် တရားစီရင်တော်မူမည်။ သို့သော်လည်း လူသားသည် ကြွလာသောအခါ ယုံကြည်ခြင်းကို မြေကြီးပေါ်မှာ တွေ့မည်လောဟု သခင်ဘုရားသည် မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

⁹And he spoke also to some, who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and made nothing of all the rest [of men], this parable:

⁹ကိုယ်ကုသိုလ်ကို အမှီပြု၍ သူတပါးကို မထီမဲ့မြင်ပြုတတ်သောသူအချို့တို့အား မိန့်တော်မူသော ဥပမာကား၊

¹⁰Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-gatherer.

¹⁰လူနှစ်ယောက်တို့သည် ဆုတောင်းပဌနာပြုခြင်းငှါ ဗိမာန်တော်ပေါ်သို့ တက်ကြ၏။ တယောက်ကား ဖာရိရှဲဖြစ်၏။ တယောက်ကား အခွန်ခံဖြစ်၏။

¹¹The Pharisee, standing, prayed thus to himself: God, I thank thee that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax-gatherer.

¹¹ဖာရိရှဲသည် တယောက်တည်းရပ်လျက်၊ အိုဘုရားသခင်၊ သူတပါးတို့သည် အနိုင်အထက်လုယူခြင်း၊ မတရားသဖြင့်ကျင့်ခြင်း၊ သူ့မယားကိုပြစ်မှားခြင်းအပြစ်ရှိသကဲ့သို့ အကျွန်ုပ်၌မရှိသည်သာမက၊ ဤအခွန်ခံကဲ့သို့ ပင် မဟုတ်သောကြောင့် ကျေးဇူးတော်ကြီးလှပေ၏။

¹²I fast twice in the week, I tithe everything I gain.

¹²အကျွန်ုပ်သည် ခုနှစ်ရက်တွင် နှစ်ရက်အစာရှောင်ပါ၏။ ဥစ္စာရှိသမျှတို့ကို ဆယ်ဘို့တဘို့ လှူပါ၏ဟူ ၍ ဆုတောင်းပဌနာပြု၏။

¹³And the tax-gatherer, standing afar off, would not lift up even his eyes to heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, O God, have compassion on me, the sinner.

¹³အခွန်ခံမူကား၊ အဝေးကရပ်၍ ကောင်းကင်သို့မမျှော်မကြည့်ဝံ့ဘဲ ရင်ပတ်ကိုခက်လျက်၊ အို ဘုရားသခင်၊ အပြစ်များသော အကျွန်ုပ်ကို သနားခြင်းကရုဏာစိတ် ရှိတော်မူပါဟုဆုတောင်းလေ၏။

¹⁴I say unto you, This [man] went down to his house justified rather than that [other]. For every one who exalts himself shall be humbled, and he that humbles himself shall be exalted.

¹⁴ငါဆိုသည်ကား၊ ထိုသူသည် အပြစ်ပြေလျက် မိမိအိမ်သို့ပြန်သွား၏။ ဖာရိရှဲမူကား အပြစ်မပြေ။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ကိုယ်ကိုကိုယ် ချီးမြှောက်သောသူ မည်သည်ကား၊ နှိမ့်ချခြင်းသို့ရောက်လတံ့။ ကိုယ်ကိုကိုယ် နှိမ့်ချသောသူမည်သည်ကား၊ ချီးမြှောက်ခြင်းသို့ရောက်လတံ့ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

¹⁵And they brought to him also infants that he might touch them, but the disciples when they saw [it] rebuked them.

¹⁵ထိုအခါ သူငယ်တို့ကို လက်တော်နှင့်တို့စေခြင်းငှါ အထံတော်သို့ ဆောင်ခဲ့သည်ကို တပည့်တော် တို့သည် မြင်လျှင် အပြစ်တင်ကြ၏။

¹⁶But Jesus calling them to [him] said, Suffer little children to come to me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of God.

¹⁶ယေရှုသည် ထိုသူငယ်တို့ကို ခေါ်တော်မူ၍ ငါ့ထံသို့လာပါလေစေ။ မဆီးတားကြနှင့်။ ဘုရားသခင်၏ နိုင်ငံတော်သည် ထိုသို့သောသူတို့၏နိုင်ငံဖြစ်၏။

¹⁷Verily I say to you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

¹⁷ငါအမှန်ဆိုသည်ကား၊ အကြင်သူသည် ဘုရားသခင်၏နိုင်ငံတော်ကို သူငယ်ကဲ့သို့ မခံမယူ၊ ထိုသူသည် နိုင်ငံတော်သို့ မဝင်ရဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

¹⁸And a certain ruler asked him saying, Good teacher, having done what, shall I inherit eternal life?

¹⁸အရာရှိတယောက်က၊ ကောင်းမြတ်သောဆရာ၊ ထာဝရအသက်ကို အမွေခံရအံ့သောငှါ အကျွန်ုပ် သည် အဘယ်အမှုကို ပြုရပါမည်နည်းဟု မေးလျှောက်သော်၊

¹⁹But Jesus said to him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, God.

¹⁹ယေရှုက၊ ငါ့ကို ကောင်းမြတ်သည်ဟု အဘယ်ကြောင့်ခေါ်သနည်း။ ဘုရားသခင်တပါးတည်းသော ကောင်းမြတ်တော်မူ၏။

²⁰Thou knowest the commandments: Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.

²⁰သင်သည် ပညတ်တော်တို့ကို သိသည်မဟုတ်လော။ သူ့မယားကို မပြစ်မှားနှင့်။ မမှန်သော သက်သေ ကို မခံနှင့်။ မိဘကို ရိုသေစွာပြုလော့ဟု မိန့်တော်မူလျှင်၊

²¹And he said, All these things have I kept from my youth.

²¹အရှင်ဘုရား၊ ထိုပညတ်ရှိသမျှတို့ကို ငယ်သောအရွယ်မှစ၍ အကျွန်ုပ်စောင့်ရှောက်ပါပြီဟု လျှောက် ပြန်သည်ကို ယေရှုသည်ကြားလျှင် သင်သည် တခုလိုသေး၏။

²²And when Jesus had heard this, he said to him, One thing is lacking to thee yet: Sell all that thou hast and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in the heavens, and come, follow me.

²²ကိုယ်ဥစ္စာရှိသမျှကို ရောင်း၍ ဆင်းရဲသောသူတို့အား ပေးဝေလော့။ ထိုသို့ပြုလျှင် ကောင်းကင်ဘုံ၌ ဘဏ္ဍာကို ရလိမ့်မည်။ သို့ပြီးမှ လာ၍ ငါ့နောက်သို့လိုက်လော့ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

²³But when he heard this he became very sorrowful, for he was very rich.

²³ထိုသူသည် များစွာသောဥစ္စာကို ရတတ်သောသူဖြစ်၍၊ ထိုစကားကိုကြားလျှင် အလွန်စိတ်မသာသည် နှင့် သွားလေ၏။

²⁴But when Jesus saw that he became very sorrowful, he said, How difficultly shall those who have riches enter into the kingdom of God;

²⁴ထိုသို့ စိတ်မသာသည်ကို ယေရှုသည် မြင်တော်မူလျှင်၊ ဥစ္စာရတတ်သောသူသည် ဘုရားသခင်၏ နိုင်ငံတော်သို့ အလွန်ဝင်ခဲလှ၏။

²⁵for it is easier for a camel to enter through a needle's eye than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

²⁵ကုလားအုပ်သည် အပ်နဖားကို လျှိုလွယ်၏။ ငွေရတတ်သောသူသည် ဘုရားသခင်၏ နိုင်ငံတော်သို့ ဝင်ခဲသည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

²⁶And those who heard it said, And who can be saved?

²⁶ကြားသောသူတို့ကလည်း၊ သို့ဖြစ်လျှင် အဘယ်သူသည် ကယ်တင်တော်မူခြင်းသို့ ရောက်နိုင်မည်နည်း ဟု ပြောဆိုကြ၏။

²⁷But he said, The things that are impossible with men are possible with God.

²⁷ကိုယ်တော်ကလည်း၊ လူမတတ်နိုင်သောအမှုကို ဘုရားသခင်တတ်နိုင်တော်မူသည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

²⁸And Peter said, Behold, *we* have left all things and have followed thee.

²⁸ထိုအခါ ပေတရုက၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ရှိသမျှကို စွန့်ပစ်၍ ကိုယ်တော်နောက်သို့ လိုက်ကြပါပြီဟု လျှောက်လေသော်၊

²⁹And he said to them, Verily I say to you, There is no one who has left home, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake,

²⁹ကိုယ်တော်က၊ ငါအမှန်ဆိုသည်ကား၊ အကြင်သူသည် ဘုရားသခင်၏ နိုင်ငံတော်ကြောင့်၊ အိမ်ရာ၊ မိဘ၊ ညီအစ်ကို၊ သားမယားတည်းဟူသော တပါးပါးကို စွန့်၏။

³⁰who shall not receive manifold more at this time, and in the coming age life eternal.

³⁰ထိုသူသည် ယခုကာလ၌ အဆများစွာသောအကျိုးကို၎င်း၊ နောင်ဘဝ၌ ထာဝရအသက်ကို၎င်း ခံရ လတံ့ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

³¹And he took the twelve to [him] and said to them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written of the Son of man by the prophets shall be accomplished;

³¹ထိုအခါ ကိုယ်တော်သည် တကျိပ်နှစ်ပါးသောတပည့်တော်တို့ကို ခေါ်၍၊ ငါတို့သည် ယေရုရှလင်မြို့သို့ ယခု သွားကြ၏။ ပရောဖက်များ ရေးမှတ်သမျှသည် လူသား၌ ပြည့်စုံရလိမ့်မည်။

³²for he shall be delivered up to the nations, and shall be mocked, and insulted, and spit upon.

³²တပါးအမျိုးသားတို့လက်သို့ အပ်နှံခြင်း၊ ပြက်ယယ်ပြုခြင်း၊ ညှဉ်းဆဲခြင်း၊ တံတွေးနှင့် ထွေးခြင်းကို ခံရလိမ့်မည်။

³³And when they have scourged [him] they will kill him; and on the third day he will rise again.

³³သူတို့သည် လူသားကို ရိုက်ပုတ်၍သတ်ကြလိမ့်မည်။ သုံးရက်မြောက်သောနေ့၌ ထမြောက်လိမ့်မည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

³⁴And they understood nothing of these things. And this word was hidden from them, and they did not know what was said.

³⁴ထိုစကားတော်တခွန်းကိုမျှ တပည့်တော်တို့သည်နားမလည်ကြ။ ထိုအကြောင်းအရာသည် ဝှက်ထား လျက် ရှိသည်ဖြစ်၍ မိန့်တော်မူချက်အနက်ကို မရိပ်မိကြ။

³⁵And it came to pass when he came into the neighbourhood of Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the wayside begging.

³⁵ယေရိခေါမြို့အနီး၌ ရှိတော်မူစဉ်တွင်၊ လူကန်းတယောက်သည် လမ်းနားမှာထိုင်၍ တောင်းစား လေ၏။

³⁶And when he heard the crowd passing, he inquired what this might be.

³⁶ထိုလူကန်းသည် လမ်း၌ လူများသွားသံကို ကြားလျှင် အဘယ်သို့ ဖြစ်သနည်းဟုမေး၏။

³⁷And they told him that Jesus the Nazaraean was passing by.

³⁷နာဇရက်မြို့သား ယေရှုကြွသွားကြောင်းကို သူတပါးပြောလျှင်၊

³⁸And he called out saying, Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.

³⁸ဒါဝိဒ်၏သားတော်ယေရှု၊ အကျွန်ုပ်ကို ကယ်မသနားတော်မူပါဟု ဟစ်ကြော်လေ၏။

³⁹And those [who were] going before rebuked him that he might be silent; but *he* cried out so much the more, Son of David, have mercy on me.

³⁹ထိုသူကို တိတ်ဆိတ်စွာနေစေခြင်းငှါ ရှေ့တော်၌ သွားသောသူတို့သည် ငေါက်၍ ဆိုကြသော်လည်း၊ ဒါဝိဒ်၏ သားတော်၊ အကျွန်ုပ်ကို ကယ်မသနားတော်မူပါဟု သာ၍ ဟစ်ကြော်ကြလေ၏။

⁴⁰And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be led to him. And when he drew nigh he asked him [saying],

⁴⁰ယေရှုသည်လည်း ရပ်တော်မူလျက်၊ ထိုသူကို ခေါ်ခဲ့ဟု အမိန့်တော်ရှိ၏။ လူကန်းသည် အထံတော်သို့ ချဉ်းကပ်ပြီးမှ၊ သင်၌အဘယ်သို့ ပြုစေလိုသနည်းဟု မေးတော်မူလျှင်၊

⁴¹What wilt thou that I shall do to thee? And he said, Lord, that I may see.

⁴¹သခင်၊ အကျွန်ုပ်မျက်စိမြင်စေခြင်းငှါ ပြုတော်မူပါဟု လျှောက်လေသော်၊

⁴²And Jesus said to him, See: thy faith has healed thee.

⁴²ယေရှုက၊ မျက်စိမြင်စေ။ သင်၏ ယုံကြည်ခြင်းသည် သင့်ကို ကယ်မပြီဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

⁴³And immediately he saw, and followed him, glorifying God. And all the people when they saw [it] gave praise to God.

⁴³ထိုခဏခြင်းတွင် ထိုသူသည် မျက်စိမြင်၍ ဘုရားသခင်၏ဂုဏ်တော်ကို ချီးမွမ်းလျက် နောက်တော်သို့ လိုက်လေ၏။ လူအပေါင်းတို့သည် မြင်လျှင် ဘုရားသခင်ကို အံ့ဩချီးမွမ်းကြ၏။
