1He that separateth himself seeketh [his] pleasure, he is vehement against all sound wisdom.
1သူတပါးများနှင့် မရောနှောသောသူသည် မိမိ စေတနာ အလိုရှိသည်အတိုင်း ရှာဖွေ၍၊ ပညာရတနာ အမျိုးမျိုးကို စူးစမ်းမွှေနှောက်တတ်၏။
2A fool hath no delight in understanding, but only that his heart may reveal itself.
2မိုက်သောသူမူကား၊ မိမိစိတ်သဘောကို ပြစရာ အခွင့်မှတပါး၊ အခြားသောအကြောင်းကြောင့် ဥာဏ် ပညာ၌ မပျော်မွေ့တတ်။
3When the wicked cometh, there cometh also contempt, and with ignominy reproach.
3မတရားသောသူလာသောအခါ၊ မထီမဲ့မြင်ပြု ခြင်းကို ခံရ၏။ ဂုဏ်အသရေပျက်သောအခါ၊ ကဲ့ရဲ့ခြင်း ကိုလည်း ခံရ၏။
4The words of a man's mouth are deep waters, [and] the fountain of wisdom is a gushing brook.
4နှုတ်ထွက်သောစကားသည် နက်သောရေကဲ့သို့ ၎င်း၊ ပညာစမ်းရေတွင်းသည် ရေစီးသောမြစ်ကဲ့သို့၎င်း ဖြစ်၏။
5It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to wrong the righteous in judgment.
5တရားတွေ့ရာအမှု၌ ဖြောင့်မတ်သောသူကို ရှုံးစေခြင်းငှါ၊ မတရားသော သူ၏မျက်နှာကို မထောက် ကောင်း။
6A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for stripes.
6မိုက်သောသူ၏နှုတ်ခမ်းတို့သည် ရန်တွေ့ တတ်၏။ သူ၏နှုတ်သည်လည်း အပြစ်ဒဏ်ကို တောင်း တတ်၏။
7A fool's mouth is destruction to him, and his lips are a snare to his soul.
7မိုက်သောသူ၏နှုတ်သည် ပျက်စီးရာအကြောင်း၊ နှုတ်ခမ်းတို့သည်လည်း မိမိအသက်ကို ကျော့မိရာ အကြောင်းဖြစ်၏။
8The words of a talebearer are as dainty morsels, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
8ကုန်းတိုက်သောသူ၏စကားသည် မြိန်သော ခဲဘွယ်စားဘွယ်ကဲ့သို့ဖြစ်၍၊ ဝမ်းအတွင်းသို့ဝင်တတ်၏။
9He also who is indolent in his work is brother of the destroyer.
9အလုပ်လုပ်သောအခါ ပျင်းရိသောသူသည်၊ မိမိဥစ္စာကို အချည်းနှီးကုန်စေသော သူနှင့်ညီအစ်ကို တော်ပေ၏။
10The name of Jehovah is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
10ထာဝရဘုရား၏နာမတော်သည် ခိုင်ခံ့သော ရဲတိုက်ဖြစ်၍၊ ဖြောင့်မတ်သောသူတို့သည် ပြေးဝင်သဖြင့်၊ လုံခြုံစွာနေရကြ၏။
11The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as a high wall in his own imagination.
11ငွေရတတ်သောသူက၊ ငါ့စည်းစိမ်သည် ခိုင်ခံ့ သောမြို့ဖြစ်၏။ မြင့်သောမြို့ရိုးနှင့်တူသည်ဟု ထင်တတ် ၏။
12Before destruction the heart of man is haughty; and before honour [goeth] humility.
12ပျက်စီးခြင်းအရင်၌လူသည် စိတ်မြင့်ခြင်း၏ နေရာ၊ ဂုဏ်အသရေ အရင်၌နှိမ့်ချခြင်း၏နေရာရှိ၏။
13He that giveth answer before he heareth, it is folly and shame unto him.
13အကျိုးအကြောင်းကို မစစ်မှီ၊ အမှုစီရင်သော သူသည်မိုက်သော အပြစ်၊ အရှက်ကွဲရသောအပြစ်ရှိ၏။
14The spirit of a man sustaineth his infirmity; but a broken spirit who can bear?
14လူ၏စိတ်ဝိညာဉ်သည် မိမိနာခြင်းဝေဒနာကို ခံနိုင်၏။ ကြေကွဲသောစိတ်ကိုကား၊ အဘယ်သူသည်းခံ နိုင်သနည်း။
15The heart of an intelligent [man] getteth knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.
15သမ္မာသတိရှိသောသူ၏ စိတ်နှလုံးသည် ပညာ အတတ်ကို သိုထားတက်၏။ ပညာရှိသော သူ၏နားသည် လည်း၊ ပညာစကားကို ရှာတတ်၏။
16A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.
16လူ၌ပါသော လက်ဆောင်အားဖြင့်၊ လမ်းရှင်း လင်း၍၊ လူကြီးထံသို့ ဝင်ရသောအခွင့်ရှိတတ်၏။
17He that is first in his own cause [seemeth] just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him.
17ကိုယ်အမှုကို အဦးစောင့်၍ပြောသောသူသည် ဖြောင့်မတ်ရာသို့ ရောက်သော်လည်း၊ အိမ်နီးချင်းလာ၍ စစ်ကြောတတ်၏။
18The lot causeth contentions to cease, and parteth between the mighty.
18စာရေးတံပြုခြင်းအားဖြင့် အငြင်းအခုံငြိမ်း၍၊ အားကြီးသော သူတို့အမှုကို ဆုံးဖြတ်တတ်၏။
19A brother offended is [harder to be won] than a strong city; and contentions are as the bars of a palace.
19အငြိုးထားသောညီအစ်ကိုသည် ခိုင်ခံ့သောမြို့ ထက် သာ၍ခက်၏။ ညီအစ်ကို ရန်တွေ့ခြင်းအမှုသည် ရဲတိုက်တံခါးကျင်ကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်၏။
20A man's belly is satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; with the increase of his lips is he satisfied.
20လူသည်မိမိနှုတ်၏အသီးနှင့်ဝမ်းပြည့်ရ၏။ မိမိနှုတ်ခမ်းတို့၏ စီးပွါးနှင့်ဝရ၏။
21Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
21လျှာသည်အသက်သေခြင်းနှင့် ရှင်ခြင်းကို အစိုးရ ၏။ လျှာကို နှစ်သက်သောသူသည်လည်း၊ လျှာ၏အသီးကို စားရ၏။
22Whoso hath found a wife hath found a good thing, and hath obtained favour from Jehovah.
22မယားကိုရသောသူသည် ကောင်းသောအရာကို ရ၍၊ ထာဝရဘုရား၏ကျေးဇူးတော်ကို ခံရ၏။
23He that is poor speaketh with supplications, but the rich answereth roughly.
23ဆင်းရဲသောသူသည် တောင်းပန်တတ်၏။ ငွေရ တတ်သောသူမူကား၊ ကြမ်းတမ်းစွာ ပြန်ပြောတတ်၏။
24A man of [many] friends will come to ruin but there is a friend [that] sticketh closer than a brother.
24အပေါင်းအဘော်များသောသူသည် အကျိုး နည်းရှိတတ်၏။ မိတ်ဆွေမူကား၊ ညီအစ်ကိုစွဲကပ်သည် ထက် သာ၍ စွဲကပ်တတ်၏။
