1As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour beseemeth not a fool.
1နွေကာလ၌ မိုဃ်းပွင့်ကဲ့သို့၎င်း၊ စပါးရိတ်ရာကာလ ၌ မိုဃ်းရေကဲ့သို့၎င်း၊ မိုက်သောသူသည် ဂုဏ်အသရေကို မခံသင့်။
2As the sparrow for flitting about, as the swallow for flying, so a curse undeserved shall not come.
2စာငှက်သည် အရပ်ရပ်လှည့်လည်၍၊ ဇရက်သည် လည်း ပျံသွားသကဲ့သို့၊ ထိုနည်းတူ အကြောင်းမရှိသော ကျိန်ဆဲခြင်းသည် မသင့်မရောက်တတ်။
3A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the back of fools.
3မြင်းဘို့နှင်တံ၊ မြင်းဘို့ဇက်ကြိုး၊ မိုက်သောသူ၏ ကျောဘို့ ကြိမ်လုံးသည် သင့်ပေ၏။
4Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.
4မိုက်သောသူ၏ သဘောသို့လိုက်၍၊ သူ၏စကား ကို မချေနှင့်။ ထိုသို့ချေလျှင် သူနှင့်တူလိမ့်မည်။
5Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.
5မိုက်သောသူ၏ သဘောသို့လိုက်၍ သူ၏စကား ကို ချေလော့။ သို့မဟုတ်၊ သူသည် ဝါကြွားသောစိတ် ရှိလိမ့် မည်။
6He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off [his own] feet, [and] drinketh damage.
6မိုက်သော သူတွင် မှာ လိုက်သောသူသည် ကိုယ်ခြေကို ဖြတ်၍ အကျိုးနည်းရှိ၏။
7The legs of the lame hang loose; so is a proverb in the mouth of fools.
7သုတ္တံစကားကို မိုက်သောသူ ပြောခြင်းသည် ခြေဆွံ့သောသူ၏ ခြေကြွခြင်း ကဲ့သို့ဖြစ်၏။
8As a bag of gems in a stoneheap, so is he that giveth honour to a fool.
8မိုက်သောသူကို ချီးမြှောက်ခြင်းသည် ကျောက်ပုံ ၌ ကျောက်မြတ်ကို ပစ်ထားခြင်းကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်၏။
9[As] a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a proverb in the mouth of fools.
9ဆူးသည် ယစ်မူးသောသူ၏လက်ကို စူးသကဲ့သို့၊ သတ္တံစကားသည် မိုက်သောသူ၏ နှုတ်၌ရှိ၏။
10A master roughly worketh every one: he both hireth the fool and hireth passers-by.
10ကြီးသောသူသည် ခပ်သိမ်းသောသူတို့ကို တုန်လှုပ်စေတတ်၏။ မိုက်သောသူနှင့် ပြစ်မှားတတ် သော သူတို့ကို စေသုံးတတ်၏။
11As a dog turneth back to its vomit, [so] a fool repeateth his folly.
11ခွေးသည် မိမိအန်ဖတ်ကို ပြန်၍စားတတ်သကဲ့ သို့၊ မိုက်သောသူသည် မိုက်သောအကျင့်ကို ပြန်၍ ကျင့်တတ်၏။
12Hast thou seen a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope of a fool than of him.
12ငါသည် ပညာရှိ၏ဟု ထင်သောသူရှိလျှင်၊ ထိုသူ၌ မြော်လင့်စရာအခွင့်ရှိသည်ထက်၊ မိုက်သောသူ၌ သာ၍ မြော်လင့်စရာအခွင့်ရှိ၏။
13The sluggard saith, There is a fierce lion in the way; a lion is in the midst of the streets!
13ပျင်းရိသောသူက၊ အိမ်ပြင်မှာခြင်္သေ့ရှိ၏။ လမ်းတို့၌ ခြင်္သေ့ရှိ၏ဟု ဆိုတတ်၏။
14[As] the door turneth upon its hinges, so the sluggard upon his bed.
14တံခါးရွက်သည် စရွေး၌လည်သကဲ့သို့ ပျင်းရိ သောသူသည် အိပ်ရာပေါ်မှာ လည်တတ်၏။
15The sluggard burieth his hand in the dish: it wearieth him to bring it again to his mouth.
15ပျင်းရိသောသူသည် မိမိလက်ကို အိုး၌သွင်း သော်လည်း၊ တဖန်နှုတ်၍ မိမိပစပ်သို့ ခွံရလျှင် စိတ်ညစ် တတ်၏။
16A sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven [men] that answer discreetly.
16ပျင်းရိသောသူက၊ ငါသည် အကျိုးအကြောင်းကို ပြတတ်သောသူ ခုနစ်ယောက်ထက်သာ၍ ပညာရှိသည် ဟု ကိုယ်ကိုထင်တတ်၏။
17He that passing by vexeth himself with strife belonging not to him, is [like] one that taketh a dog by the ears.
17လမ်း၌ရှောက်သွား၍ မိမိမဆိုင်သောအမှုကို ရောနှောသောသူသည် ခွေးနားရွက်ကို ကိုင်ဆွဲသောသူ နှင့်တူ၏။
18As a madman who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death,
18ငါကျီစားရုံမျှသာ ပြုသည်ဟုဆိုလျက်၊
19so is a man that deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am I not in sport?
19မိမိအိမ်နီးချင်းကို လှည့်စားသောသူသည် မီးစ၊ မြှား၊ သေဘေးကို ပစ်တတ်သော အရူးနှင့်တူ၏။
20Where no wood is, the fire goeth out; and where there is no talebearer, the contention ceaseth.
20ထင်းမရှိလျှင် မီးသေတတ်သကဲ့သို့ ကုန်းတိုက် သော သူမရှိလျှင် ရန်ငြိမ်းတတ်၏။
21[As] coals for hot coals, and wood for fire, so is a contentious man to inflame strife.
21မီးခဲချင်းပြုသကဲ့သို့၎င်း၊ ထင်းသည် မီးကိုမွေး သကဲ့သို့၎င်း၊ ရန်တွေ့တတ်သောသူသည် ခိုက်ရန်မှုကို ပြုစုတတ်၏။
22The words of a talebearer are as dainty morsels, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
22ကုန်းတိုက်သော သူ၏စကားသည် မြိန်သော ခဲဘွယ် စားဘွယ်ကဲ့သို့ဖြစ်၍၊ ဝမ်းအတွင်းသို့ဝင်တတ်၏။
23Ardent lips, and a wicked heart, are [as] an earthen vessel overlaid with silver dross.
23ချစ်အားကြီးသောနှုတ်နှင့်၊ ဆိုးညစ်သော စိတ် နှလုံးသည် ချော်မွမ်းမံသော အိုးခြမ်းနှင့်တူ၏။
24He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, but he layeth up deceit within him:
24အငြိုးထားသောသူသည် နှုတ်ဖြင့်လျှို့ဝှက်၍၊ ကိုယ်ထဲမှာလှည့်စားသော သဘောကို ဝှက်ထားတတ်၏။
25when his voice is gracious, believe him not, for there are seven abominations in his heart.
25ထိုသို့သောသူ၏ စကားသည် ချိုသော်လည်း မယုံနှင့်။ သူ၏စိတ်နှလုံးထဲမှာ စက်ဆုပ်ရွံရှာဘွယ်သော အရာခုနစ်ပါးရှိ၏။
26Though [his] hatred is covered by dissimulation, his wickedness shall be made manifest in the congregation.
26အငြိုးထားခြင်းကို လှည့်စားခြင်းအားဖြင့် ဝှက် ထားသောသူ၏ ဒုစရိုက်အပြစ်သည် ပရိသတ်ရှေ့မှာ ထင်ရှားလိမ့်မည်။
27Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein; and he that rolleth a stone, it shall return upon him.
27တွင်းတူးသောသူသည် မိမိတွင်းထဲသို့ ကျလိမ့် မည်။ ကျောက်ကို လှိမ့်သောသူအပေါ်သို့ ထိုကျောက် သည် ပြန်၍လိမ့် လိမ့်မည်။
28A lying tongue hateth those that are injured by it, and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.
28မုသားပြောတတ်သောသူသည် မိမိညှဉ်းဆဲ သောသူတို့ကို မုန်းတတ်၏။ ချော့မော့တတ်သော သူသည်လည်း ဖျက်ဆီးတတ်၏။
