1 Kings

3

1And Solomon allied himself by marriage with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had ended building his own house, and the house of Jehovah, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.
1Huan, Solomonin Aigupta kumpia Pharo toh kizolhna a bawla, Pharo tanu a kitenpiha, amah in leh Toupa in a lam ma leh, Jerusalem khua kulha a um suak ma siah David khopi ah a om sak hi.
2Only, the people sacrificed on the high places; for there was no house built to the name of Jehovah, until those days.
2Mipite lah mun sangte khawngah a kithoih mai nak ua, huai main Toupa min dinga in lam a om nai tak dih louh jiakin.
3And Solomon loved Jehovah, walking in the statutes of David his father; only, he sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.
3Solomonin Toupa a ita, a pa David thusehte a jui seka; mun sangtea kithoihin, gimlimte a nahal sek mawk naa,
4And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt-offerings did Solomon offer up upon that altar.
4Huan, kumpipa kithoih dingin Gibeon khuaah a hoha; huai lah mun sang poimoh tak ahi ngala: Solomonin huai maitam tungah halmanga thillat sangkhat tal alan hi.
5In Gibeon Jehovah appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.
5Huan, Gibeon khuaah Toupa janin Solomon kiangah amangin a hongkihila: huan, Pathianin, ngen ve, bang ahia ka honpiak ding? a chi a.
6And Solomon said, Thou hast shewn unto thy servant David my father great loving-kindness, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great loving-kindness, that thou hast given him a son who sits upon his throne, as it is this day.
6Huan, Solomonin, na sikha ka pa David na mitmuha thutaka leh diktatna leh, lungtang dik tak puaa a om jel bangin nang a kiangah hehpihna thupi mahmah nalangsaka; nang hiai hehpihna thupi mahmah amah adingin na deihguana, nang a laltutphaha tu ding tapa na piaa, tunia a hongom petmah bangin.
7And now, Jehovah my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father; and I am but a little child: I know not to go out and to come in.
7Huchiin, aw Toupa ka Pathian, nang na sikha, ka pa David sikin kumpipa dingin na nabawltaa: kei jaw naupang lel ka hia; thu tung lam leh kuan lam leng ka theikei hi.
8And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.

9Give therefore to thy servant an understanding heart, to judge thy people, to discern between good and bad; for who is able to judge this thy numerous people?

10And the word pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.
10Huan, Solomonin huai a nget jiakin huai thu genin Toupa a kipaksak mahmah mai a.
11And God said to him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life, neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies, but hast asked for thyself discernment to understand judgment;
11Huan, Pathianin a kiangah, nang dam sawtna kingetsak loua, huchibang na nget jiakin leh, hausaknate leng kingetsak loua, na melmate sihna leng ngen loua, vaihawm siamna na kingetsak jawk jiakin,

12Ngaiin, na nget bangin ka hihta: Ngaiin, pilna leh theihna lungtang ka honpia; huchiin, na maah nang bang mahmah kuamah a om kei ua, na nungchiangin leng nang bang mahmah kuamah a hongom sam kei ding uh.
13And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches and glory; so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.
13Huan, na ngetlouh, hausakna leh thupina leng ka honpe lai hi; huchiin na dam sungin kumpipate lakah nang bang mahmah a om kei ding uh.
14And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will prolong thy days.
14Na pa Davidin a zuih banga ka thusehte leh ka thupiak te pom dinga ka lampite na zuih leh ka hondam sawt sak lai ding, achia.
15And Solomon awoke, and behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and offered up burnt-offerings, and offered peace-offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.
15Huan, Solomon a khanglou a, ngai in, mang ana hi: huan, Jerusalem ah a hoh a, Toupa thukhun na bawm maah a dinga, halmanga thillat leh lemna thillatte a lana, a sikhate tengteng a dingin ankuang a lui.
16Then came two women, harlots, to the king, and stood before him.
16Huchiin numei nih, kijuak, kumpipa kiangah a hoh ua, a maah ava ding uh.
17And the first woman said, Ah, my lord! I and this woman abode in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.
17Huan, numei khat in, aw ka pu, hiai numei toh in khata teng khawm ka hi ua; huai inna ka om tei laiin nau ka nei a.
18And it came to pass the third day after I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also; and we were together; no stranger was with us in the house, only we two were in the house.
18Huan, hichi ahia, ka nau neih nung ni thum nungin hiai numeiin leng a nei sama; om khawm ka hi ua; huai ina om kou tegel lou, huai in ah kuamah mikhual om a om kei uh.
19And this woman's child died in the night; because she had lain upon it.
19Huan, hiai numei ta janin a nasi a; a delh lup ahi.
20And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thy handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead son in my bosom.
20Huchiin, jan laiin a thou a, na sikhanu a ihmut kalin, ka sika ka tapa a la a, a poma, ata sipen ka angah ana sial.
21And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead; and I considered it in the morning, and behold, it was not my son, whom I bore.
21A jingsanga ka ta nawi pe dinga ka thoh leh, ngaiin, a si ana hi nilouh mawk hi: himahleh jingsanga ka etchet leh ngaiin, ka tapa, ka suanpen ana hi hetkei hial hi, achia.
22And the other woman said, No, for the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this one said, No, but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spoke before the king.
22Huan, numei dangin, Hi lou e, a hingpen ka tapa ahi jaw, a sipen na tapa ahi, a chi tei a. Khatin, Hi lou, a sipen na tapa ahi, a hing pen ka tapa ahi jaw, a chi chiltel sam a. Huchibangin kumpipa maah a gentuaktuak uh.
23Then said the king, The one says, This that is living is my son, and thy son is the dead; and the other says, No, for thy son is the dead, and my son is the living.
23Huchiin, kumpipan, Khatin, ahingpen ka tapa ahi: a sipen na tapa ahi, a chi a: huan, khatin, Hilou, a sipen na tapa ahi, a hingpen ka tapa ahi jaw, a chi jel ngala, achia.
24And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king.
24Huan, kumpipan, namsau honva lak dih uh, a chi a, huchiin namsau kumpipa maah a honla ua.
25And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.
25Huan, kumpipan, naungek hingpen tum nih suah unla, a kimkhat khat pia unla, a kimkhat khat pia un, a chi a.
26Then spoke the woman whose was the living child to the king, for her bowels yearned over her son, and she said, Ah, my lord! give her the living child, and in no wise put it to death. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine; divide it.
26Huchiin, naungek hingpen nuin a ta a lainat mahmah mai ngala, kumpipa kiangah, Aw ka pu, naungek hingpen amah pe maiin, a thah a hihleh that mahmah ken, a chi a. Khatpenin bel, keia lah hi tuan kenteh, nanga lah hi tuan ken teh: tumtan maiin, a chi a.
27And the king answered and said, Give this one the living child, and in no wise put it to death: she is its mother.

28And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do justice.
28Huan, Israelte tengtengin huai thua kumpipa vaihawm dan ana ja ua; kumpipa akihtata mahmah mai uh: vaihawmna dingin Pathian pil na amah ah a om chi a thei ngal ua.
