17

1The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from [being] a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.
1Damaska kho puak gik, Ngaiin, Damaska hi khopi hi nawn lou dinga lakmang a hita, huchiin in chim khawm lel a hita ding hi.
2The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks; and they shall lie down and there shall be none to make them afraid.
2Aroer khote taisanin a omta; belam honte omna ding ahi mai ding, huaite lah a om ngei ding ua, kuamahin a lausak kei ding uh.
3The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith Jehovah of hosts.
3Ephraim akipanin kulhpi a mang dinga, Damaska akipan gam a mang ding, Suria gama om sunte leng a mang ding uh; Israel suante thupina bang lelin a om ding uh, sepaihte TOUPAN a chi hi.
4And in that day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall become lean.
4Huai ni chiangin hichi ahi dinga, Jakob thupina hihgawnin a om dinga, a sa thauna leng a honggawngta ding hi.
5And it shall be as when the reaper gathereth the corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; yea, it shall be as he that gathereth ears in the valley of Rephaim.
5Huchiin buh lapan buh a laka, a vuite a lak bang mai ahi dinga, ahi, Rephaim guamah min buh maihkhakte a tom bang mai uh ahi ding hi.
6And a gleaning shall be left in it, as at the shaking of an olive-tree: two, three berries above, in the tree-top; four, five in its fruitful boughs, saith Jehovah, the God of Israel.
6himahleh, oliv sing sin khita a jikpi sangpen dawna gah nihtou thumtou hiam, singgah mahmah hiang saupentea litou ngathou hiam a om sek bangin, huaiah maihkhak top ding a om laiding, Toupa Pathian in a chi hi.
7In that day shall man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have regard to the Holy One of Israel.
7Huai ni chiangin min a Bawlpa uh lam a enta ding ua, a mitte un Israelte Mi Siangthou a zahtakta ding uh.
8And he will not look to the altars, the work of his hands, nor have regard to what his fingers have made, neither the Asherahs nor the sun-images.
8Maitam, amau khut suak lamte khawng a en nawnta kei ding ua, amau khuta bawl Asherim hiam, gimlim maitamte hiam a zahtakta kei ding uhi.
9In that day shall his strong cities be as the forsaken tract in the woodland, and the mountain-top which they forsook before the children of Israel; and there shall be desolation.
9Huai ni chiangin a kho kip takte uh gammang leh tang vuma mun taisan sa, Israel maa a taisan sa bang uh, ahi ding; huchiin mun loih ahita ding hi.
10For thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and hast not been mindful of the rock of thy strength; therefore shalt thou plant pleasant plantations, and shalt set them with foreign slips:
10Nang honhondampa Pathian na mangngilha, na hatna Suangpi lah na theigige ngal keia; huaijiakin kung kilawm taktakte na suan seka, a sungah hiang tuamte na vut tang niaunuau seka:
11in the day of thy planting wilt thou make [them] to grow, and on the morrow wilt thou make thy seed to flourish; [but] the harvest will flee in the day of taking possession, and the sorrow will be incurable.
11Na suan niin na khang sak a, jingsangin thil chi lah na paksak seka; ahihhangin gah loh lah lungngaihna leh natna thupi tak niin a mang sek hi.
12Ha! a tumult of many peoples! they make a noise as the noise of the seas; -- and the rushing of nations! they rush as the rushing of mighty waters.
12A, mipi tampi ging nuanua, tuipite ging nuanua banga ging nuanuate leh nam chih ging hawhaw, tui thupitakte ging hawhaw banga ging hawhawte tel o!
13The nations rush as the rushing of many waters; but he will rebuke them, and they shall flee far away, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a whirling [of dust] before the whirlwind:
13Nam chih lah tuipi tam pi ging hawhaw bangin a ging hawhaw ding ua; himahleh aman a taihilh dinga, huchiin gamla pi-ah a taimang ding ua, tanga buhsi huih mut bang leh leivui huihpi mut leng lunglung bang in delhin a om ding uh.Nitaklamin, ngaiin, thil mulkimhuai tak a om a; huan, khovak main lah a om nawn kei uh. Huailah gallaka honlak sakmite tan ahi a, hon guksakmite tuam leng ahi hi.
14behold, at eventide, trouble; before the morning they are not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.
14Nitaklamin, ngaiin, thil mulkimhuai tak a om a; huan, khovak main lah a om nawn kei uh. Huailah gallaka honlak sakmite tan ahi a, hon guksakmite tuam leng ahi hi.
