¹The burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art wholly gone up to the housetops?

¹Kilanna guam puak gik, Bang na chi ua amai, in tung khawnga na kal touh vek uh?

²Thou that wast full of stir, a town of tumult, a joyous city: thy slain men are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle.

²Aw kikou husaa dim, khopi chiak vengvung, kho kipaktak, na sunga a thahte uh temsaua thah ahi kei ua, kikapnaa si leng ahi sam kei uh.

³All thy rulers have fled together, they are taken prisoners without the bow: all that are found of thee are made prisoners together; they were fleeing far off.

³Na vaihawmmi tengteng a tai mang chiat ua, thalkap mite gakin a om ua, gamlapi akipana hongtai mangte

⁴Therefore said I, Look away from me; let me weep bitterly: labour not to comfort me, because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people.

⁴Huaijiakin ken, Honen louin lehlam en un, nakpiiin ka kap sin; ka mite tanu gallaka a lak thu uah honnem nuam vang lak dah un, ka chi hi.

⁵For it is a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity, from the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, in the valley of vision; [a day of] breaking down the wall, and of crying to the mountain:

⁶-- Elam beareth the quiver with chariots of men [and] horsemen; and Kir uncovereth the shield.

⁶Huchiin, Elamten thalbawm a tawi ua, mihing tuanna kangtalaite leh sakol tung tuangmite toh; Kirten lum tuamna lah a phel ua.

⁷And it shall come to pass [that] thy choicest valleys shall be full of chariots, and the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.

⁷Huan, hichi ahi a, na guam hoihpente lah kangtalaiin a dimta a, sakol tungtuangmite lah kulh kongkhak bulah a kiphu noinoi uh. Huan, Judate khuhna a la mang hi.

⁸And he uncovereth the covering of Judah: and thou didst look in that day to the armour in the house of the forest;

⁸Huan, Judate khuhna a la mangta. Huchiin huai niin Gammang Ina galthuamna lam na enta uh.

⁹and ye have seen the breaches of the city of David, that they are many; and ye have gathered together the waters of the lower pool;

⁹David khopi kulhpi siatna tate leng na en ua, a tam chih na thei uh: huan, dil khangnungjaw tuite na luangkhawm sak uhi.

¹⁰and ye have numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and have broken down the houses to fortify the wall;

¹⁰Huan, Jerusalem inte na sim ua, kulhpi bang bawl hoihna dingin inte khawng na phel uh.

¹¹and ye have made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool: but ye have not had regard unto the maker thereof, neither have ye looked unto him that fashioned it long ago.

¹¹Dil lui tui omna dingin kulhpi nih kikalah tuichin khawmna na bawl ua; himahleh huai hihmi lam lah na en ngal kei ua, nidanglaia anabawlpa lah na limsak het kei uh.

¹²And in that day did the Lord Jehovah of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth;

¹²Huai niin TOUPA, sepaihte TOUPAN, kap ding leh awm kitum ding leh lugiau sak ding leh saiip puan teng dingin a sam a:

¹³and behold joy and rejoicing, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: -- Let us eat and drink, for to-morrow we die.

¹³Himahleh, ngaiin, nuamna leh kipahnate, bawng thahna leh belam thahnate, sa nekna leh uain dawnna te a om zota a, ne ni dawn ni, jingchiangin lah i si sin ngal ua, a chi uh.

¹⁴And it was revealed in mine ears by Jehovah of hosts: Assuredly this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.

¹⁴Huchiin sepaihte TOUPA tuh ka bil ah a kilaka. Pellouin hiai khelhna na sih masiah uh na lak uah silsiang a hita kei ding, TOUPA, sepaihte TOUPAN a chi, chiin.

¹⁵Thus saith the Lord Jehovah of hosts: Go, get thee in unto this steward, unto Shebna, who is over the house, [and say,]

¹⁵TOUPA, sepaihte TOUPAN, hichiin a chi, Kuan inla, hiai sumkempa vial kiangah, Shebna, in tunga heutu-a om kiang ngeingei ah, hohin.

¹⁶What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewn thee out a sepulchre here, [as] he that heweth out his sepulchre on high, cutting out in the rock a habitation for himself?

¹⁶Huan, a kiangah hichiin genin, Hiaia bang hih na hia? hiai ah kua na neia, han hiaia na khuak vial? Amah adingin sangpi-a a han a khuaka, amah adinga suangpi-a omna a bawl vial!

¹⁷Behold, Jehovah will hurl thee with the force of a mighty man, and will cover thee entirely.

¹⁷Ngaiin, TOUPAN nang a paihin a honpai ek ding, mi hatin a paih bangin; ahi, a tunin nang a hontun ikek ding.

¹⁸Rolling thee up completely, he will roll thee as a ball into a wide country: there shalt thou die, and there shall be the chariots of thy glory, O shame of thy lord's house!

¹⁹And I will drive thee from thine office, and from thy station will I pull thee down.

¹⁹Na nasepna akipan ka hondelh khe ding a, aman heutu na hihnaa kipan a honkaikhesuk ding hi.

²⁰And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkijah;

²⁰Huan, huai niin hichi ahi dinga, ka sikha Eliakim, Hilkha tapa, ka sam dinga; amah na puannnak tual ka silh sak dinga.

²¹and I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand; and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.

²¹Na kawnggakin ka hihhat dinga, na vaihawmna amah khutah ka kem sak ding: Huchiin Jerusalema omte adin leh Juda inkuanpihte adingin pa ahi ding.

²²And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; and he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

²²Huan, David inkuanpihte tahbi a liangjang ah ka koih dinga: aman a hong dinga, kuamahin a khak kei ding uh: a khak dinga, kuamahin a hong kei ding uh.

²³And I will fasten him [as] a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a throne of glory to his father's house:

²³Huan, amah, kilhna mun kiptaka a kilh ngiungeu bang un, ka hihkip ngiungeu dinga: huchiin amah tuh a pa inkuanpihte adingin laltutphah thupi mahmah ading ahi ding hi.

²⁴and they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, all the small vessels, as well the vessels of cups as all the vessels of flagons.

²⁴Huan, amahah a pa inkuanpihte thupina tengteng a bang vek ding ua, a tate leh a suante, tuiumbelsuan neu chiteng, belhbu tuiumbelsuan akipan tui koihna tuiumbelsuan tengteng tanin.Huai niin, kilhna, mun kip taka kilh ngiungeu-a omin a nangzou kei dinga; sat khiaka omin, a keta dinga, a tunga thil gik om lah hihmanthatin a omta dinga; TOUPAN huai lah a genta ngala, sepaihte TOUPAN a chi, chiin.

²⁵In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, shall the nail that is fastened in a sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for Jehovah hath spoken.

²⁵Huai niin, kilhna, mun kip taka kilh ngiungeu-a omin a nangzou kei dinga; sat khiaka omin, a keta dinga, a tunga thil gik om lah hihmanthatin a omta dinga; TOUPAN huai lah a genta ngala, sepaihte TOUPAN a chi, chiin.
