Isaiah

28

1Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious adornment, which is on the head of the fat valley of them that are overcome with wine.
1Ephraimte zu khamhatte kisaktheihna lallukhu tung leh, a kilawmna uh thupi pak tul laitak, uain thazoha omte guam hausa tak lutang tunga om a tung a gik hi!
2Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, as a storm of hail [and] a destroying tempest; as a storm of mighty waters overflowing, shall he cast down to the earth with might.
2Ngaiin, TOUPAN mi hat thilhihthei tak a neia: aman, gial thupi tak ke phuakphuak, huihpi thil hihse lemlum bang leh, tuilian thupi let juajua bang maiin, leiah a pai ek ding.
3The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim shall be trodden under feet;
3Ephraimte zu khamhatte kisaktheihna lallukhu lah sik denin a om dinga:
4and the fading flower of his glorious adornment which is on the head of the fat valley shall be like an early fig before the summer: as soon as he that seeth it perceiveth it, scarcely is it in his hand, he swalloweth it down.
4A kilawmna uh thupi paktul laitak, guam hausa tak lutang tunga om, nipi maa theipi min masapen, a enmiin a muha, a khuta a om taka a nek khit mai sek bang ahi ding hi.
5In that day will Jehovah of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the remnant of his people;
5Huai ni chiangin sepaihte TOUPA tuh, thupina lallukhu leh, kilawmna lukhu te, a mi om sunte adingin ahi ding:
6and for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
6Vaihawm dinga tu adingin vaihawmna kha te, kulh kongkhak bula hon sualte nangkikmite adingin hatna ahi ding.
7But these also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are they gone astray. The priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink; they are overpowered by wine, they are gone astray through strong drink; they have erred in vision, they have stumbled [in] judgment.
7Himahleh huaite leng uain jiakin a kipek a kipek ua, ju jiakin a hoihoi ua: siampute leh jawlneite lah ju jiakin a kipek pek ua, uain valh khitin a om ua, ju jiakin a hoihoi ua: kilakna thu-ah a kipekpek ua, vaihawmna thu-ah a hoihoi uh.
8For all tables are full of filthy vomit, so that there is no [more] place.
8Mun siang mahmah om lou khopin dohkan tengteng lah luak leh thil ninin a dim hi.
9Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand the report? Them that are weaned from the milk, withdrawn from the breasts?
9Theihna lam aman kua ahia a sinsak sin laitei? thukhah leng aman kua ahia a theihsak sin laitei? nawinek tawp tungte leh nawi neksak nawnlouhte ahi ding uam?
10For [it is] precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, there a little. ...
10Thuzohna thu tunga thuzohna thu chian touh, thuzohna thu tunga thuzohna thu chian touh: dan tunga dan chiantouh, dan tunga dan chiantouh: hiaiah tawmchik, huaiah tawmchik chih ngenta a hih jiakin.
11For with stammering lips and a strange tongue will he speak to this people;
11A hi, muk lamdang pumi zangin, pau tuamin hiai mite kiangah thu a gen zota ding:
12to whom he said, This is the rest: cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing. But they would not hear.
12Hiai lah khawlna ahi hi, tawlte khawlsak un: hiai lah kihihhalhna ahi hi, a chihte: himahleh amau lah a ngaikhe nuam ngal kei ua.
13And the word of Jehovah was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little: that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
13Huaijiakin, a pai ua, a thala a puk ua, a kitap gawp ua, thanga a awk ua, mata a om theihna ding un, TOUPA thu lah amaute adingin, thuzohna thu tunga thuzohna thu chian touh, thuzohna thu tunga thuzohna thu chian touh, dan tunga dan chian touh: hiaiah tawm chik buaah tawm chik chih ngetna ahi mai ding.
14Therefore hear the word of Jehovah, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
14Huaijiakin, mi muhsithatte aw, hiai mite, Jerusalem khuaa omte, vaihawmsakte aw, TOUPA thu ja un:
15For ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol have we made an agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us; for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves.
15Sihna toh thu i khungte Sheol ah thu i kichiamta; vuakna tuilian a luan suak hun chiangin lei phain jaw a luang kei ding; juauthute i kihumbitna dingin i zang ua, huau nuaiah lah i buta ngal ua, na chih jiakun.
16Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I lay for foundation in Zion a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner-stone, a sure foundation: he that trusteth shall not make haste.
16Huaijiakin TOUPA Pathianin hichiin a chi ding; Ngaiin, suang, suang ettelsa, a kila suang manphatak phum kip mahmah, Zionah suangphum dingin ka lem hi; a gingtami jaw a kin kei ding.
17And I will appoint judgment for a line, and righteousness for a plummet; and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding-place.
17Vaihawmna diktat a tansakna khau dingin ka zang dinga, diktatna lah a ulumkhai dingin ka zang dinga, gialin kihumbitna juau thute lah a phiat mang vek dinga, tuiten lah bukna a tum ding.
18And your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, ye shall be trodden down by it.
18Huan, sihna toh na thu khun uh a kiphel dinga, Sheol toh na chiam u leng a piching kei ding, vuakna tuilian a luan suak hun chiangin. Huai hun chiangin a sik denin na om ding uh.
19As it passeth through it shall take you; for morning by morning shall it pass through, by day and by night; and it shall be terror only to understand the report.
19A luan suak peuhmah chiangin nou a honla jel ding; a jingsang a jingsangin, sun leh janin, a luang suak sin ngala; thukhah omdan theihsiam lah thil mulkimhuai ngen ahi ding. chiin.
20For the bed is too short to stretch oneself on, and the covering too narrow when he would wrap himself in it.
20Lupna lah khekhuanna dingin a tom jojen ngala, puan thuah lah kilukhuhna dingin a neu lua hi.
21For Jehovah will rise up as on mount Perazim, he will be moved with anger as in the valley of Gibeon; that he may do his work, his strange work, and perform his act, his unwonted act.
21A nasep, a nasep lamdang a sep theihna ding leh, a thilhih a thilhih lamdang a zuih theihna dingin, TOUPA tuh Perazim tanga a thou bangin a thou sin ngala, Gibeon guama a heh bangin a heh sin hi.
22Now therefore be ye not scorners, lest your bonds be made strong; for I have heard from the Lord Jehovah of hosts a consumption, and [one] determined, upon the whole land.
22Huchiin mi muhsit chingte hi nawn kei un, huchiloujaw na kolbutte uh muanhuaitakin a bawl kha ding uh; tawpna tawpna tung ngei dinga seh, lei pumpi tunga a tunsak ding. TOUPA, sepaihte TOUPA akipan inlah ka za ngala.
23Give ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.
23Bil doh unla, ka aw ja un; ngaikhia unla, ka thugen ja un.
24Doth the ploughman plough all day to sow? Is he [all day] opening and breaking the clods of his land?
24Leiletmiin chi thehna dingin lei tatlaklouin a let ngei ahia? a lei khalte tatloklouin a khenkhamin a hihjan ngei ahia?
25Doth he not, when he hath levelled the face thereof, cast abroad dill, and scatter cummin, and set the wheat in rows, and the barley in an appointed place, and the rye in its border?
25A tung a toh tam khitin mohuri te a theh dalh ka hia? Zira te leng a theh ka hia? buhte a vualin, huitbuhte leng a mun sehsaah, vai buh te leng a nawljulah a tuh sek ka hia?
26His God doth instruct him in [his] judgment, he doth teach him.
26A Pathianin lah amah diktakin a thuzohin a sinsak ngala.
27For the dill is not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart-wheel turned about upon the cummin; but dill is beaten out with a staff, and cummin with a rod.
27Mohuri lah buh chilna khawlin a chil ngei ngal kei ua, zira tungkah leng kangtalai khe a tuksak ngei kei uh; mohuri jaw chiangin a khen ua, zira bel khetbukin a khen zo sek uhi.
28Bread [corn] is crushed, because he will not ever be threshing it; and if he drove the wheels of his cart and his horses [over it], he would not crush it.
28Tanghou bawlna buh lah gawijanin a om a, aman lah khantawnin a vo sin ngal keia, a kangtalai khe leh a sakolten dalhsak mah leh, a gawijan sak ngei kei hi.Huaite leng sepaihte TOUPA, lemtheihnaa mi lamdang mahmah leh pilnaa mi hoih mahmah akipana pawt ahi hi.
29This also cometh forth from Jehovah of hosts; he is wonderful in counsel, great in wisdom.
29Huaite leng sepaihte TOUPA, lemtheihnaa mi lamdang mahmah leh pilnaa mi hoih mahmah akipana pawt ahi hi.
