¹Jehovah, thou art my God: I will exalt thee; I will celebrate thy name, for thou hast done wonderful things; counsels of old [which are] faithfulness [and] truth.

¹ ای خداوند، تو خدای من هستی. تو را جلال می‌دهم و حمد و ستایش می‌کنم. تو کارهای شگفت‌انگیزی کرده‌ای. تو با وفاداری آنچه را از ابتدا می‌خواستی، با اطمینان به انجام رسانیدی.

²For thou hast made of the city a heap, of the fortified town a ruin, the palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built up.

² تو شهرها را به ویرانه‌ای تبدیل و بُرج و باروهای آنها را خراب کردی. کاخهایی که دشمنان ما ساخته بودند، برای همیشه از بین رفته‌‌اند.

³Therefore shall the mighty people glorify thee, the city of terrible nations shall fear thee.

³ مردم کشورهای نیرومند تو را حمد خواهند گفت و شهرهای مردمان ظالم از تو خواهند ترسید.

⁴For thou hast been a fortress to the poor, a fortress for the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat: for the blast of the terrible ones [has been] as the storm [against] a wall.

⁴ فقیران و بیچارگان به تو پناه آورده‌اند و در روزگار سخت در امان بوده‌اند. به آنها در برابر توفانها پناهگاه، و در برابر گرمای سوزان سایبان دادی. مردان ظالم مثل کولاک زمستانی

⁵Thou hast subdued the tumult of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; [as] the heat, by the shadow of a cloud, [so] the song of the terrible ones is brought low.

⁵ و مثل قحطی در سرزمین خشک حمله می‌کنند. امّا تو ای خداوند، دشمنان ما را ساکت کردی، و فریاد مردان ظالم را خاموش نمودی، همان‌طور که ابرها به یک روز گرم، سردی می‌بخشند.

⁶And in this mountain will Jehovah of hosts make unto all peoples a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

⁶ در اینجا، در کوه صهیون، خداوند متعال ضیافتی برای همهٔ ملّتهای جهان آماده می‌کند؛ ضیافتی با بهترین غذاها و بهترین شرابها.

⁷And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the veil which veileth all the peoples, and the covering that is spread over all the nations.

⁷ او ناگهان ابر غمی را که بر فراز شهرهای همهٔ ملّتها بود، کنار می‌زند.

⁸He will swallow up death in victory. And the Lord Jehovah will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the reproach of his people will he take away from off all the earth: for Jehovah hath spoken.

⁸ خداوند قادر متعال، مرگ را برای همیشه از بین خواهد برد! او اشکها را از چشم همه پاک می‌کند و شرمی را که قومش در سراسر دنیا متحمّل شدند، از بین خواهد برد. خداوند خودش چنین گفته است.

⁹And it shall be said in that day, Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is Jehovah, we have waited for him; we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

⁹ وقتی این چیزها واقع شود، همه خواهند گفت: «او خدای ماست! ما به او اعتماد داریم و او ما را نجات داده است. او خداوند است! ما به او ایمان داریم، و اکنون شاد و خوشحال هستیم چون او ما را نجات داده است.»

¹⁰For in this mountain shall the hand of Jehovah rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, as straw is trodden down in the dunghill;

¹⁰ خداوند کوه صهیون را محافظت خواهد کرد، امّا مردم موآب مثل کاهی در سرگین حیوانات، زیر پای دیگران پایمال خواهند شد.

¹¹and he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth them forth to swim; and he shall bring down their pride together with the plots of their hands.

¹¹ آنها دستهای خود را دراز می‌کنند، گویی می‌خواهند شنا کنند، امّا خدا آنها را سرافکنده خواهد کرد و دستهایشان بی‌مقاومت به زیر آب فرو می‌روند. او قلعه‌های جنگی موآب را خراب می‌کند و دیوارهای بلند آنها را با خاک یکسان خواهد کرد.

¹²And the fortress of the high defences of thy walls will he bring down, lay low, bring to the ground, into the dust.
