¹And it came to pass when the king dwelt in his house, and Jehovah had given him rest round about from all his enemies,

¹A stalo sa, keď už býval kráľ vo svojom dome, a Hospodin mu dal odpočinutia zo všetkých strán, od všetkých jeho nepriateľov,

²that the king said to Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in a house of cedars, and the ark of God dwells under curtains.

²že povedal kráľ prorokovi Nátanovi: Pozri, prosím, ja bývam v cedrovom dome, a truhla Božia býva medzi pokrovcami.

³And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thy heart; for Jehovah is with thee.

³Na to riekol Nátan kráľovi: Iď a učiň všetko, čo je v tvojom srdci, lebo Hospodin je s tebou.

⁴And it came to pass that night that the word of Jehovah came to Nathan, saying,

⁴A stalo sa tej istej noci, že sa stalo slovo Hospodinovo k Nátanovi a Hospodin riekol takto:

⁵Go and say to my servant, to David, Thus saith Jehovah: Wilt thou build me a house for me to dwell in?

⁵Iď a povieš môjmu služobníkovi Dávidovi: Takto hovorí Hospodin: Či mi ty vystavíš dom, v ktorom by som býval?

⁶For I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but I went about in a tent and in a tabernacle.

⁶Lebo veď som nebýval v dome od toho dňa, ktorého som vyviedol synov Izraelových z Egypta hore až do tohoto dňa, ale som chodil sem a ta v stáne a v svätopríbytku.

⁷In all my going about with all the children of Israel, did I speak a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye me not a house of cedars?

⁷Kadekoľvek som chodil medzi všetkými synmi Izraelovými, či som azda voľakedy povedal slovo niektorému z pokolení Izraelových, ktorému som prikázal pásť môj ľud, Izraela, aby som bol povedal: Prečo ste mi nevystavili cedrového domu?

⁸And now, thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: I took thee from the pasture-grounds, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people, over Israel;

⁸A tak teraz takto povieš môjmu služobníkovi, Dávidovi: Takto hovorí Hospodin Zástupov: Ja som ťa vzal s pastviska zpoza oviec, aby si bol vojvodom nad mojím ľudom, nad Izraelom.

⁹and I have been with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are on the earth.

⁹A bol som s tebou všade, kamkoľvek si išiel, a vyhladil som všetkých tvojich nepriateľov zpred tvojej tvári a učinil som ti veľké meno jako meno niektorého z tých velikánov, ktorí sú na zemi.

¹⁰And I will appoint a place for my people, for Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and be disturbed no more; neither shall the sons of wickedness afflict them any more, as formerly,

¹⁰A ustanovil som svojmu ľudu, Izraelovi, miesto a zasadil som ho tak, že býva na svojom vlastnom mieste a nebude sa viacej triasť pred svojimi nepriateľmi, ani ho už nebudú trápiť synovia neprávosti jako tam prv,

¹¹and since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. And I have given thee rest from all thine enemies; and Jehovah telleth thee that Jehovah will make thee a house.

¹¹a jako ho trápievali od toho dňa, ktorého som ustanovil sudcov nad svojím ľudom Izraelom, a dal som ti odpočinutia od všetkých tvojich nepriateľov. A k tomu ti oznamuje Hospodin, že on, Hospodin, učiní tebe dom.

¹²When thy days are fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

¹²Keď sa vyplnia tvoje dni, a budeš ležať so svojimi otcami, postavím tvoje semeno po tebe, ktoré vyjde z tvojho života, a upevním jeho kráľovstvo.

¹³It is he who shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

¹³Ten vystaví môjmu menu dom, a ja postavím pevne trón jeho kráľovstva, takže bude stáť až na veky.

¹⁴I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the stripes of the sons of men;

¹⁴Ja mu budem otcom, a on mi bude synom, ktorého, keby sa dopustil nejakej neprávosti, budem trestať ľudským prútom a údermi synov človeka.

¹⁵but my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before thee.

¹⁵Ale moja milosť neuhne od neho, jako som urobil, aby uhla od Saula, ktorého som odstránil zpred tvojej tvári.

¹⁶And thy house and thy kingdom shall be made firm for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

¹⁶A nepodvrátiteľne stály bude tvoj dom a tvoje kráľovstvo až na veky pred tebou, a tvoj trón bude stáť pevne až na veky.-

¹⁷According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak to David.

¹⁷Podľa všetkých tých slov a podľa celého toho videnia, tak hovoril Nátan Dávidovi.

¹⁸And king David went in and sat before Jehovah, and said, Who am I, Lord Jehovah, and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

¹⁸Potom vošiel kráľ Dávid do stánu Božieho a posadil sa pred Hospodinom a povedal: Kto som ja, Pane, Hospodine, a kto je môj dom, že si ma doviedol až sem!

¹⁹And yet this hath been a small thing in thy sight, Lord Jehovah; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, Lord Jehovah?

¹⁹A ešte i to bolo málo v tvojich očiach, Pane, Hospodine, takže si hovoril ešte aj o dome svojho služobníka do ďalekej budúcnosti, a to na spôsob človeka, Pane, Hospodine!

²⁰And what can David say more to thee? for thou, Lord Jehovah, knowest thy servant.

²⁰A čože ti má ešte viac hovoriť Dávid, keď ty predsa znáš svojho služobníka, Pane, Hospodine!

²¹For thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, to make thy servant know [it].

²¹Pre svoje slovo a podľa dobroty svojho srdca činíš všetko toto veľké a dal si to znať svojmu služobníkovi.

²²Wherefore thou art great, Jehovah Elohim; for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

²²Preto si zvelebený, Hospodine, Bože, lebo nie je nikoho tebe rovného, ani niet Boha krome teba, podľa všetkého toho, čo sme počuli na svoje uši.

²³And who is like thy people, like Israel, the one nation in the earth that God went to redeem to be a people to himself, and to make himself a name, and to do for them great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thyself from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?

²³A kto je ako tvoj ľud, ako Izrael, jediný to národ na zemi, ktorý išli Bohovia, sám Bôh vykúpiť sebe za ľud a učiniť si meno (A vykonať vám, synovia Izraelovi, túto tak veľkú vec!), a prišiel si, ó, Bože, učiniť svojej zemi strašné veci, pred tvárou svojho ľudu, ktorý si si vykúpil z Egypta, z národov, a od jeho bohov.

²⁴And thou hast established to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever; and thou, Jehovah, art become their God.

²⁴A pevne si si postavil svoj ľud, Izraela, sebe za ľud až na veky. A ty, Hospodine, stal si sa im Bohom.

²⁵And now, Jehovah Elohim, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house, fulfil it for ever, and do as thou hast said.

²⁵A tak teraz, Hospodine, Bože, slovo, ktoré si hovoril vzhľadom na svojho služobníka a na jeho dom, ráč postaviť tak, aby stálo až na veky, a učiň, ako si hovoril.

²⁶And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, Jehovah of hosts is God over Israel; and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.

²⁶A nech je tvoje meno veľké až na veky, tým, že budú hovoriť: Hospodin Zástupov je Bohom nad Izraelom, a dom tvojho služobníka Dávida nech je stály pred tvojou tvárou!

²⁷For thou, Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee a house; therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.

²⁷Lebo ty, Hospodine Zástupov, Bože Izraelov, zjavil si svojmu služobníkovi povediac: Zbudujem ti dom. Preto našiel tvoj služobník hotové svoje srdce pomodliť sa ti túto modlitbu.

²⁸And now, Lord Jehovah, thou art that God, and thy words are true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant;

²⁸A tak teraz, Pane, Hospodine, ty si Bôh, a tedy nech sú tvoje slová pravdou, keď už si hovoril svojmu služobníkovi sľúbiac mu to dobré.

²⁹and now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever; for thou, Lord Jehovah, hast spoken it; and with thy blessing shall the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.

²⁹A teraz tedy ráč a požehnaj dom svojho služobníka, aby bol na veky pred tvojou tvárou, lebo ty, Pane, Hospodine, si hovoril, a z tvojho požehnania nech je požehnaný dom tvojho služobníka až na veky!
