¹And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

¹A stalo sa slovo Hospodinovo ku mne povediac:

²Son of man, set thy face against Jerusalem, and drop [words] against the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,

²Synu človeka, obráť svoju tvár proti Jeruzalemu a kvapkaj slovo proti svätyniam a prorokuj proti zemi Izraelovej

³and say to the land of Israel, Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, and I will draw forth my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.

³a povieš zemi Izraelovej: Takto hovorí Hospodin: Hľa, ja som proti tebe a vytiahnem svoj meč z jeho pošvy a vyplienim z teba spravedlivého i bezbožného.

⁴Seeing that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of its sheath against all flesh, from the south to the north;

⁴Preto, že vyplienim z teba spravedlivého i bezbožného, preto vyjde môj meč zo svojej pošvy proti každému telu od juhu až na sever.

⁵and all flesh shall know that I Jehovah have drawn forth my sword out of its sheath: it shall not return any more.

⁵A zvedia, každé telo, že ja Hospodin som vytiahol svoj meč z jeho pošvy; nenavráti sa viacej.

⁶Sigh then, thou son of man; with breaking of the loins, and with bitterness sigh before their eyes.

⁶A ty, synu človeka, vzdychaj, ako keby si mal dolámané bedrá, a v horkosti, vzdychať budeš pred ich očami.

⁷And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore dost thou sigh? that thou shalt say, Because of the tidings, for it cometh; and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall languish, and all knees shall melt into water: behold, it cometh; it is here, saith the Lord Jehovah.

⁷A stane sa, keď ti povedia: Nad čímže tak vzdycháš? že vtedy povieš: Nad zvesťou, lebo ide, a rozplynie sa každé srdce, klesnú bezvládne všetky ruky, a každý duch zomdleje, a všetky kolená sa rozplynú jako voda. Hľa, prijde a stane sa, hovorí Pán Hospodin.

⁸And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

⁸A stalo sa slovo Hospodinovo ku mne povediac:

⁹Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith Jehovah: Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished.

⁹Synu človeka, prorokuj a povieš: Takto hovorí Pán: Povedz: Meč, meč je nabrúsený i vyhladený.

¹⁰It is sharpened for sore slaughter, it is furbished that it may glitter. Shall we then make mirth, [saying,] The sceptre of my son contemneth all wood?

¹⁰Aby zabíjal, čo je na zabitie, nato je nabrúsený; aby sa lesknul, nato je vyhladený. Alebo či sa budeme radovať? Prút môjho syna pohŕda každým drevom.

¹¹And he hath given it to be furbished that it may be handled. The sword, -- it is sharpened, and it is furbished to give it into the hand of the slayer.

¹¹A dali ho vyhladiť, aby sa mohol vziať do ruky; je to nabrúsený meč a je vyhladený dať ho do ruky zabijaka.

¹²Cry and howl, son of man; for it shall be against my people, it shall be against all the princes of Israel: they are given up to the sword along with my people: smite therefore upon the thigh.

¹²Krič a kvíľ, synu človeka, lebo ten meč bude proti môjmu ľudu, ten proti všetkým kniežatám Izraelovým; budú vydaní meču i s mojím ľudom, preto sa udieraj na bedrá.

¹³For the trial [is made]; and what if even the contemning sceptre shall be no [more]? saith the Lord Jehovah.

¹³Lebo zkúška je spravená, a čo, ak nebude ani pohŕdajúceho prúta? hovorí Pán Hospodin?

¹⁴And thou, son of man, prophesy, and smite thy hands together; for [the strokes of] the sword shall be doubled the third time: it is the sword of the slain, the sword that hath slain the great one, which encompasseth them privily.

¹⁴A ty, synu človeka, prorokuj a tleskni rukami, a nech sa zdvojnásobní meč, i ztrojnásobní meč na tých, ktorí majú byť pobití; je to meč na toho veľkého, ktorý má byť zabitý, meč, ktorý prenikne až do ich komôr,

¹⁵In order that the heart may melt, and the stumbling-blocks be multiplied, I have set the threatening sword against all their gates: ah! it is made glittering, it is whetted for the slaughter.

¹⁵aby sa rozplynulo srdce. A bude mnoho závad padnúť, pri všetkých ich bránach, kde dám rúbať mečom. Ach, učinený je podobný blesku, naostrený je zabiť!

¹⁶Gather up [strength], go to the right hand, turn thee, go to the left, whithersoever thy face is appointed.

¹⁶Zober sa, iď napravo, pusti sa naľavo, kamkoľvek sa obráti tvoje ostrie.

¹⁷And I myself will smite my hands together, and I will satisfy my fury: I Jehovah have spoken [it].

¹⁷A ja tiež budem tlieskať svojimi rukami a ukojím svoju prchlivosť. Ja Hospodin som hovoril.

¹⁸And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

¹⁸A stalo sa slovo Hospodinovo ku mne povediac:

¹⁹And thou, son of man, set thee two ways, by which the sword of the king of Babylon may come -- out of one land shall they both come -- and make thee a signpost, make it at the head of the way to the city.

¹⁹A ty, synu človeka, sprav si dve cesty, ktorými by mal prijsť meč babylonského kráľa. Z jednej zeme nech vychádzajú obidve, a stvor ukazujúcu ruku, na rozcestí mesta ju stvor.

²⁰Appoint a way for the coming of the sword to Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and to Judah at the fenced [city] of Jerusalem.

²⁰Sprav cestu, ktorou by mal prijsť meč do Rabby synov Ammonových i do Judska na opevnený Jeruzalem.

²¹For the king of Babylon standeth at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he shaketh [his] arrows, he inquireth of the teraphim, he looketh in the liver.

²¹Lebo babylonský kráľ zastane na počiatku cesty, na rozcestí oboch ciest, aby veštil, bude triasť strelami, dopytovať sa bude domácich bohov, bude hľadieť do jatier.

²²In his right hand is the lot of Jerusalem to appoint battering-rams, to open the mouth for bloodshed, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering-rams against the gates, to cast mounds, to build siege-towers.

²²V jeho pravej ruke bude veštba na Jeruzalem, aby pristavil dobývacích baranov, aby otvoril ústa dať povel vraždiť, aby pozdvihol hlas vyvolať krik boja, aby pristavil dobývacích baranov proti bránam, aby nasypal val, aby vystavil hradby.

²³And this shall be a false divination in their sight, for them that have sworn oaths; but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.

²³Ale im to bude jako márna veštba v ich očiach, veď vraj majú prísahy prísah; ale on uvedie na pamäť neprávosť, aby boli lapení.

²⁴Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye make your iniquity to be remembered in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins appear; because ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.

²⁴Preto takto hovorí Pán Hospodin: Preto, že mi na pamäť uvodíte svoju neprávosť tým, že sa odkrývajú vaše prestúpenia, aby sa videly vaše hriechy vo všetkých vašich činoch; preto, že ste mi prišli na pamäť, budete lapení tou rukou.

²⁵And thou, profane, wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, at the time of the iniquity of the end,

²⁵A ty, smrteľne ranený bezbožníku, knieža Izraelov, ktorého deň prijde v čas vrcholnej neprávosti, ktorou už bude koniec,

²⁶-- thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Remove the mitre and take off the crown; what is shall be no [more]. Exalt that which is low, and abase that which is high.

²⁶takto hovorí Pán Hospodin: Preč dať kráľovskú čapicu a složiť korunu! Toto nie je to. Povýšiť nízkeho a ponížiť vysokého!

²⁷I will overturn, overturn, overturn it! This also shall be no [more], until he come whose right it is; and I will give it [to him].

²⁷Rozvrátim, rozvrátim, rozvrátim to; ani toho nebude, dokiaľ neprijde ten, ktorému patrí právo a súd, a dám to jemu.

²⁸And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus speaketh the Lord Jehovah concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach; and thou shalt say, A sword, a sword is drawn; for the slaughter is it furbished, that it may consume, that it may glitter:

²⁸A ty, synu človeka, prorokuj a povieš: Takto hovorí Pán Hospodin o synoch Ammonových a o ich potupe, ktorou potupujú, a povieš: Meč, vytasený meč zabíjať, vyhladený, aby žral, aby sa lesknul ako blesk,

²⁹whilst they see vanity for thee, whilst they divine a lie unto thee, to lay thee upon the necks of the wicked that are slain, whose day is come at the time of the iniquity of the end.

²⁹kým ti vidia márnosť, kým ti veštia lož, aby ťa dali k hrdlám pobitých bezbožníkov, ktorých deň prijde v čas neprávosti, ktorou už bude koniec.

³⁰Restore [it] to its sheath. I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy birth.

³⁰Či azda schovať meč do jeho pošvy? Nie, ale na mieste, na ktorom si stvorená, dcéro Ammonova; v zemi tvojho pôvodu ťa budem súdiť.

³¹And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow upon thee the fire of my wrath, and give thee into the hand of brutish men, skilful to destroy.

³¹A vylejem na teba svoj zúrivý hnev, ohňom svojej prchlivosti budem duť na teba a vydám ťa do ruky nesmyselných mužov hovädných, takých, ktorí kujú zkazu.

³²Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt not be remembered: for I Jehovah have spoken.

³²Ohňu budeš za potravu; tvoja krv bude prostred tvojej zeme; neprijdeš na pamäť, lebo ja Hospodin som hovoril.
