1Set the trumpet to thy mouth. [He cometh] as an eagle against the house of Jehovah, because they have transgressed my covenant, and rebelled against my law.
1Nože trúbu ku svojim rtom! Jako orol na dom Hospodinov! Pretože prestúpili moju smluvu, šeredne hrešili proti môjmu zákonu.
2They shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee; [we], Israel.
2Pravda kričia na mňa. Môj Bože! Známe ťa, hovorí Izrael!
3Israel hath cast off good: the enemy shall pursue him.
3Ale Izrael opustil to, čo je dobré, nech ho tedy stíha nepriateľ.
4They have set up kings, but not by me; they have made princes, and I knew it not; of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
4Oni ustanovujú kráľa; ale to nie je odo mňa; ustanovujú kniežatá; a ja neviem o tom. Zo svojho striebra a zo svojho zlata narobili si modiel, aby boli vyťatí aj s ním.
5Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast [thee] off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will they be incapable of purity?
5Opustí ťa tvoje teľa, Samário! Môj hnev je rozpálený proti nim. Až dokedy nebudú schopní neviny?
6For from Israel is this also: -- a workman made it, and it is no God: for the calf of Samaria shall be [broken in] pieces.
6Lebo z Izraela je aj ono; remeselník ho spravil, a nie je bohom. Istotne bude na trosky teľa Samárie.
7For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk; should it sprout, it would yield no meal; if so be it yield, strangers shall swallow it up.
7Preto, že siali vietor, budú žať víchricu; nemáš stojatého obilia; to, čo narastie, nevydá múky, a keby aj vydalo, pohltia to cudzinci.
8Israel is swallowed up: now are they become among the nations as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.
8Izrael bude pohltený; už teraz sú medzi národami jako nádoba, v ktorej niet záľuby.
9For they are gone up [to] Assyria [as] a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.
9Lebo oni odišli hore do Assýrie, k divokému oslovi, ktorý je sám pre seba. Efraim najíma milencov.
10Although they hire among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall begin to be straitened under the burden of the king of princes.
10Ale aj keď si najmú medzi národami, teraz ich shromaždím, a neočakávajú málo úľavy od bremena u kráľa kniežat.
11Because Ephraim hath multiplied altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.
11Lebo Efraim narobil množstvo oltárov, aby hrešil; nato má oltáre, aby hrešil.
12I have prescribed unto him the manifold things of my law: they are counted [as] a strange thing.
12Napísal som mu veľké veci svojho zákona; považované sú jako voľačo cudzie.
13They sacrifice flesh [for] the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; Jehovah hath no delight in them. Now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
13Čo do bitných obetí z mojich darov, obetujú mäso a jedia; Hospodin nemá v nich záľuby. Teraz už sa rozpamätá na ich neprávosť a navštívi ich hriechy. Oni sa navrátia do Egypta!
14For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.
14A Izrael zabudol na svojho Učiniteľa a nastaväl si chrámov, a Júda namnožil ohradených miest. Ale pošlem oheň na jeho mestá, a požerie jeho paláce.
