1Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and that dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! When thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; when thou shalt make an end of dealing treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.
1Beda tebe, ktorý pustošíš, hocaj si sám nebol pustošený, a ktorý robíš neverne, hoci tebe nerobili neverne! Keď prestaneš pustošiť, budeš spustošený; keď sa narobíš neverne, urobia tebe neverne.
2Jehovah, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be their arm every morning, yea, our salvation in the time of trouble.
2Hospodine, zmiluj sa nad nami; na teba očakávame. Buď ich ramenom každého rána, ovšem našou záchranou v čase súženia.
3At the noise of the tumult the peoples fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered.
3Od zvuku hrmotu budú utekať národy; od tvojho vyvýšenia sa rozpŕchnu sa pohania.
4And your spoil shall be gathered [like] the gathering of the caterpillar: as the running of locusts shall they run upon it.
4A vaša korisť sa bude sberať, ako čo chrústi sberajú zeleň; ako behajú chrobáci za potravou, tak budú behať za ňou.
5Jehovah is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with justice and righteousness;
5Hospodin bude vyvýšený, lebo prebýva na výsosti; naplní Sion súdom a spravedlivosťou.
6and he shall be the stability of thy times, the riches of salvation, wisdom and knowledge: the fear of Jehovah shall be your treasure.
6A bude stálosť za tvojich čias, hojnosť rôzneho spasenia, múdrosti a známosti. Bázeň Hospodinova bude jeho pokladom.
7Behold, their valiant ones cry without; the messengers of peace weep bitterly.
7Hľa, ich hrdinovia kričia vonku; poslovia pokoja plačú horko;
8The highways are desolate, the wayfaring man ceaseth. He hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth no man.
8spustly hradské; už nie je toho, kto by išiel cestou; zrušil smluvu, opovrhol mestami, nepovážil človeka za nič.
9The land mourneth, it languisheth; Lebanon is ashamed, is withered; the Sharon is become as a desert, and Bashan and Carmel are stripped.
9Smúti, zomdlieva zem: Libanon sa hanbí, vädne; Sáron je ako púšť, a z plodov otrasený je Bázan i Karmel.
10Now will I arise, saith Jehovah; now will I be exalted, now will I lift up myself.
10Teraz povstanem, hovorí Hospodin, teraz sa vyvýšim, teraz sa povznesiem.
11Ye shall conceive dry grass, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath shall devour you [as] fire.
11Tehotnejete suchou trávou rodíte strnisko; váš duch je oheň ktorý vás strávi.
12And the peoples shall be [as] burnings of lime, [as] thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire.
12A národy budú pálením vápna; budú jako zoťaté bodliaky, ktoré sa spália ohňom.
13Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and ye that are near, acknowledge my might.
13Počujte, ďalekí, čo som učinil, a poznajte, blízki, moju hrdinskú silu!
14The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling hath surprised the hypocrites: Who among us shall dwell with the consuming fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting flames?
14Zdesili sa na Sione hriešnici; strach pochytil pokrytcov, až sa trasú a hovoria: Kto nám bude bývať pri zožierajúcom ohni? Kto nám bude bývať pri večnom žehu?!
15-- He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from taking hold of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil:
15Ten, kto chodí v spravedlivosti a hovorí pravdu; kto pohŕda ziskom z útisku; kto otriasa svoje ruky, aby neprijal úplatného daru; kto zapcháva svoje ucho, aby nepočul zvodu vyliať krv, a kto pevne zaviera svoje oči, aby nehľadel na zlé.
16he shall dwell on high, the fortresses of the rocks shall be his high retreat; bread shall be given him, his water shall be sure.
16Ten bude bývať na výšinách, hrady na skalách budú jeho vysokým útočišťom, jeho chlieb bude daný, jeho voda istá.
17Thine eyes shall see the King in his beauty; they shall behold the land that is far off.
17Tvoje oči budú hľadieť na kráľa v jeho kráse, uvidia zem ďalekých.
18Thy heart shall meditate on terror: Where is the scribe? where is the receiver? where is he that counted the towers?
18Tvoje srdce bude rozmýšľať o niekdajšom strachu a povieš: Kde je ten, kto zapisuje? Kde je, kto váži daň? Kde ten, kto počíta veže?
19Thou shalt no more see the fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than thou canst comprehend, of a stammering tongue that cannot be understood.
19Neuvidíš viacej uktrutného ľudu bezočivého, ľudu hlbokých rtov, ktorých neznáš, cudzieho jazyka, ktorému nerozumieš.
20Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tent that shall not be removed, the stakes whereof shall never be pulled up, neither shall any of its cords be broken;
20Pozri na Sion, mesto našej výročnej slávnosti, nech vidia tvoje oči Jeruzalem, bezpečné obydlie pokoja, stán, ktorý sa neprenáša, ktorého koly sa nepohnú zo svojho miesta na večnosť, a niktorý z jeho povrazov sa neroztrhne.
21but there Jehovah is unto us glorious, -- a place of rivers, of broad streams: no galley with oars shall go there, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.
21Ale tam nám je slávny Hospodin, tam miesto riek širokých tokov, po ktorom nepojde loď s veslami, ani ho neprejde mohutná loď vojenná.
22For Jehovah is our judge, Jehovah, our lawgiver, Jehovah, our king: he will save us.
22Lebo Hospodin náš sudca, Hospodin náš zákonodarca, Hospodin náš kráľ, on nás spasí.
23Thy tacklings are loosed; they strengthen not the socket of their mast, they cannot spread the sail: then is the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame take the prey.
23Tvoje povrazy sú uvoľnené, neudržia podstavca svojho sťažňa, nerozvinú vlajky! Vtedy bude rozdelené až mnoho koristi, ešte len aj chromí na nohy budú chvátať korisť,
24And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven [their] iniquity.
24takže nepovie nikto z obyvateľov: Som chorý. Ľud, ktorý bude bývať v ňom, bude ľudom, ktorému je odpustená neprávosť.
